so so true, these guys are / were 2 of the greatest ever. Cook was an absolute comic genius, he could just make up brilliant sletches ad libbed / on the fly, plus of course their charisma and charm is off the charts too.
This sketch was of course modelled on the late Stephen Montifiore.. Pete, you had it so accurate. Stephen, you were a splendid friend. Time passes mercilessly and with it all that we all once were. Such, as they say, is life.. R.I.P dear friend. And a heartfelt tribute to Peter Cooke & Dude Moore, who were so right on.
At last ! Mrs Mc Meyer’s Guest House sketch in “24 hours in the life of Jesus “. I remember this sketch from when Pete and Dud came out to Australia in 1969( I think). Never saw the sketch again until now ,but for some reason , some of the dialogue remained fixed in my memory for all of those years . It was that generation of university mind sets that taught us that it was no sin to take the piss out of Ecclesiastical Pomposity by parodying the sound of a C of E vicar delivering an incredibly boring sermon. I think it was Alan Bennett who did that brilliant sermon “ But my brother Esau is an hairy man and I am a smooth man” All of these old sketches that have just popped up into my in -box are a real gift . Cheers from Downunder 👍🇦🇺😷😷😷
You are guilty of comparing apple's and pairs as it is completely subjective. The Two Ronnies appealed to the weak of mind whilst Fry and Laurie appealed to the more cynical peak time viewer. Will you be comparing Stewart Lee and the low iq's favourite michael mcintyre next?
@@bullmonkey apples and pears, I assume you mean. I refute the allegation that I and all of my family were 'weak of mind'. It's as if I suggested that someone who didn't know that personal names are conventionally capitalised is 'weak of mind'. And 'the low iq's'? What on earth does that mean? What is 'the low iq'?
Really Really genius and brilliant.
The word genius is used a lot these days but perfectly correctly when applied to Peter and Dud!

A classic by any standard! Great stuff!

Stephen Sebag-Montefiore?
“If you could pop along at 9:30 and kill me then.”
Thanks for uploading this. Very, very funny!
Brilliant hahaha hilarious thank you
Brilliant
Thank you
True satirists, cleverer than the Two Ronnies and wittier than Fry and Laurie.
Every thing in life doesn’t have to be a contest with a winner and a loser !
Infinitely

@@bullmonkey Which makes me a weak of mind cynical peak time viewer.

Is Cook supposed to sound like Clement Freud?
Or Clement Atlee?
@@feline1973 Clement Attlee perhaps.
Less slimy.
Must better than minty pieton lol.
