Like many of you, I saw this video once in the late 1980's, and its beauty drove deep into my consciousness. I went out and spent like $800 on a car stereo so that I could drive and listen to the tape. Then when I converted to CD's in 1990, I forgot about it. Now 24 years later, I got the urge to search YT for it, and here it is. A timeless classic, that only very few know about.
I was a big private music label lover and I found this CD in Boston at a new CD store that just opened up. This piece floored me and still does to this day. One of my all time faves!!!
wow. i've also been looking for it for 20 years. i OWNED the video and misplaced it. I was obsessed with it. I'm so glad i've found it. i can't even explain...
Just like many others here, I saw it on tv long long time ago, somehow remembered title (wrongly) and been searching it ever since. All hail to the power of internet :) ...and the beauty of music
Like so many of you, saw this on the Landscape Channel as a kid. The tune never went away and I remembered it for years. The other night I decided to look for it and after trailing through the Landscape Channel's heritage collection online, FINALLY found it!!
I'm keep looking for a track that never heard again since I was young (oh... Shazam... where was you then?). It was a clip with sea waves & breakwaters, totally vocal (a capella), very beautiful. I've tried to look for that song a lot of times, but never heard after... ;__;
@@5erukun Hi Sergio, very late reply, I only just searched for my loved Landscape channel tunes, but could the one you are searching for this? ua-cam.com/video/sOWG03-xnXU/v-deo.html
I I live in Mexico and a TV channel in the 90 `s by the end of the morning when it appeared this video programming, in fact revealed to me just to hear this daily beauty of melody, this video is a gem
Hi everybody!. I know this feeling. I know this song from "Art of Landscape" in Channel 40, in México. Let me be part of this collective happiness! ITS OUR SONG! Congratulations and greetings.
It was the ‘80s. It was on tv every Sunday on TRT2 of Turkish tv.. around 7pm or so.. I searched and searched and somehow found it! Then I bought the CD, 20 years later. Mysterious thing...
I cant believe waht I have read here. I had watched this video also when I was 13 or 12 and it haunted me. I did not know not the name neither the composer till today. I learned it by luck. It is incredible to see there are people like me. That shows the greatness of this music piece.
Got to chime in here, better late than never I suppose… Circa October 1988, just broke up with a girlfriend at her place not 10 minutes earlier, when I numbly walked into a record store round the corner to lose myself for a few moments. Looked up at some ceiling monitors playing this video. Was transfixed; just stood there staring. Some of the most riveting aerial photography I had ever seen. And coupled with this fantastic musical score, it coated the motion like Hershey’s syrup over vanilla ice cream. Left that store with the album, but didn’t ever see that video again until UA-cam. Not until the film “Fly Away Home” had bird photography been shown so strikingly. Started my lifelong love of Canadian Geese. As for my ex…she was “for the birds.” anyhow. LOL
Yo también la conocí gracias a Trecet, cuando Diálogos estaba en la cima de su trayectoria, allá en los ochenta...Obra maestra absoluta, que diría D.Ramón.
I moved to Minneapolis in 1985 and watched/listened to that TV station a lot. This song, 'Moments in Love' by Art of Noise, and 'Ray's Rockhouse' by The Manhattan Transfer are the three I remember nearly 38 years later.
20 + years ago, I saw this for the first time. The last time I saw this thing about the 1996-97 year, and never after that. All the time I was looking and trying to find this amazing thing. Now, I found it and I'm so happy. Thanks Uploader and thanks the internet
I worked at a Blockbuster Video 20 years ago and late at night would put in a new age video sampler that had this on it. It stayed with me all this time. And after searching under the wrong title for too long, (I can't believe) I found it! Here's to youtube and idiotic persistence!
After seeing the Mahavishnu Orchestra in 1972, we all became great fans of Jerry Goodman. This is a song we would listen too at night while star gazing by the Yellowstone Geysers. Our hopes are that todays children will get to have the same transcendental experiences in life.
Thank you Jerry Goodman, wonderful and inspiring piece. I bought this record around 1986 from a record store in Columbus, OH. Then I saw the video in Landscape Channel in 1988 or 89.
I saw this here first time here in Holland. Must be in late 1980's and it was on the Landscape Channel among other great footage. Am still moved watching the labouring geese in the wind. Is there a modern Landscape Channel somewhere? I wonder...
La primera vez que supe de esta canción fue a través de aquel programa de TVE "Música N.A." que presentaba Lara López con dirección de Ramón Trecet. Echo de menos estos programas musicales.
I first saw this clip on the Landscape TV channel years ago and immediately went out and bought the vinyl album. This clip just shows the truly magnificent spectacle of birds in flight.
perfectrhythm - I have to completely echo your comment there. I spent the last 30 minutes hunting for this track - all I could remember were the geese, and the possibility that the composer's name was Gerry [sic] Finally, searching for New Age artists brought me to one Jerry Goodman, and eventually this most stunning (and indeed haunting track) some 20+ years later!
Yet another report from a now, 52 y/o man who discovered this much the same as others. I was 16 and to this day i am haunted by it. Found Kitaro the time. Peace to all! From the prince of peace!
When I was young, around the time it is not found to continue to look, UA-cam has become a major, I discovered. I did not have to buy a cd, but I was not very impressed. I was able to find a good song related.
A bit late to the party, however, .... I first saw this music video back in early 1986, on Channel 4 (United Kingdom), on a program called "The Art of Landscape" and roughly 14 years later I was able to find the album (which I have since lost, some 3 years ago), so it was nice to find this channel and have a reminder of just how good this track is. I am about to look for another few favourite tracks from "The Art of Landscape" by one by Tim Wheater (can't recall the name) and another track called "Memories of Vienna" (can not recall the artist's name though). Thanks for this.

I know this song because of a documentary about Mamonas Assassinas (Camera Manchete - Mamonas Assassinas, March 1996). It appeared in the introduction. The video is available with a piece of the official video clip.
remember this one, the penguin one, a waterfall one and one with a bloke on a bike.......from the Landscape channel...... thankfully that ive now got all of these in my collection ;-)
A pesar de que tiene pocas visitas, no hay que sentirse mal, sino especial; pues esta musica es para publico exquisito. Tenia un cassette con esta grabacion desde los 80s. Me alegra encontrarlo aqui. Gracias PetersPrivatemusic.
Amazing that I found it!! I bought a car a long long time ago that had a cassette tape in it. So I ran into a record store and grabbed this album out of the blue. I played this song until I wore out the tape. There was one part either on this song or another that sounded like a C130 sitting on the runway. I played it nine thousand times in a row because it reminded me of Vietnam. It seems to be missing from this song, which I love, but maybe I can find it on a different video.
Conheço essa música por causa de um documentário sobre os Mamonas Assassinas (Câmera Manchete - Mamonas Assassinas, Março 1996). Aparecia logo na introdução pedaços desse clipe.
One Sunday, VH-1 "New Visions" played this video and sent me "way beyond the blue." Ben Sidran was the nominal host, but guest host/musicians would perform in studio from time to time. Hugh Masekela, Bill Bruford, Dave Valentin, "The League of Crafty Guitarists," Liz Story, Dave Grusin, and Hiroshima!
"High Flight" “Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings; Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds, - and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there, I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung My eager craft through footless halls of air.... Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace. Where never lark, or even eagle flew - And, while with silent lifting mind I have trod The high untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand, and touched the face of God”. ..
