Such a fun video, dude!! Subbed!! 💪🏻 I got mine down to 242.4g with a naked 03, the Foxeer aio (sacrilege, I know), brother hobby 2004 1700kv, radiomaster ep1, HQ biblades, and a strip of cob LED....6s 380mah. I was surprised to see you put your battery on the bottom, as in my experience that gives more of a toothpick style flight experience, where is the reason I bought this Frame specifically, was for the top-mounted battery to emulate the same type of flight feel as a 5-inch, though of course it's not exactly the same. I always find that the battery on the bottom contributes to that pendulum feel, which is what I was trying to avoid on this particular build. I made quite a few concessions to get it down to that weight, and of course it's not for bashing, but again not the intended purpose for this, as I want to fly it around parks that may possibly have people wandering around. I just wanted a stealthy (it's almost silent at 30 meters) park ripper that won't attract too much attention. I did a smaller battery strap, two fairly robust but lightweight whip antennas, a few assorted pieces of aluminum and titanium hardware, and I even used twist ties from the produce department to hold the wires down because when I weighed it it was actually lighter than the amount of electrical tape I would need to serve the same purpose..haha. Anyway, I agree with you it's a beautifully manufactured and packaged frame, it flies really well, and is a great option for people that require sub 250. I don't even require sub 250, I just thought this would be a fun project.
Yeah man, I saw your build as well and it looked pretty sweet! I put the battery at the bottom just cause I think it looks cleaner that way and maybe I wanna put a larger Li-ion at the bottom for long range, we'll see. I don't think the pendulum effect is that significant with the slim flat GNB batteries that I run but if you're running larger batteries then it might be there. I've been absolutely bashing this thing in bando's recently lol as my main Volador 2 is out of commission 🥲 and i'm surprised that the arms and everything is okay so far! Video for another day! This thing is flying greater than people might think it would've.
Great review. I recently built my first FlyFishRC drone, the V3, and I’ve been really thinking about building one of these since I have 8 2004 motors, a 20x20 stack and a few other things collecting dust and ready to go.
Hi Lionel. I really like your videos. Regarding the hang time, if you start hovering and cut throttle it should take just the same time to fall than any other similar size quad, no matter the weight. It's like throwing a steel ball or an air inflated one with the same size and the same kind of surface, they will reach out the floor at the same time. You can have differences if you do a punch before cutting throttle, and it will depend on the size and the speed you reached. Maybe the 2 bladed props with a very low dynamic idle value produced what you felt.
Thanks! Yes the dynamic idle of the spinning props will affect hang time, and if the dynamic idle is set to be same on your everyday 5" 750g quad vs this 250g quad then the hang time difference can be felt. It just feels floaty on this setup and can feel like "forever" to get to the ground
I hated AIO’s also “until” the HAKrc Aio 20x20 40 Amp they also have a 50amp. I’m waiting till it’s in stock. My friend bashes his . It’s pretty solid. My newest 3.5 build has the HAKrc AIO in it. I love it. Nice Rippin bro. Glad to like it.
Yes the hakrc has been the most durable one I have as well. Still fly it on my Volador 35. I’m still surprised that thing is alive after the stuff I’ve put it through. However I didn’t want to risk it with this build as I have lost the ummagawd in trees and ravines more times that I can count.
Easily be under 250 on analog. Decased 03 is 20g-25g and even a "heavy" analog vtx like the Rush Tank Solo is only 12g, a Unify is around 8g. You could also run a lower weight battery. Since it's only 1g/2g over, you might actually be able to make those weight savings with racewire alone. Also I really like light quads, I can't run a gopro because it feels so sluggish and unresponsive. Maybe I could get used to it but I love my light quads
Yeah there's a thing about light quads to like, responsiveness, speed etc. But if you've watched the rest of my videos, I'm a horrible pilot and I crash A LOT 😂 so I tend to prefer heavier, chonkier, and durable builds over lighter ones. So I purposely chose a full stack over AIO and a stock O3 over the decased version.
Awesome review. Really man! Have you got any tuning tips? I struggle to tune my UL 5". Yeah, that floaty feel isn't what we freestylers are used to. Cant believe the ummagawd motors died that often. Actually they are also made by rcinpower. Same as the flyfish motors. More content like this please.
I slapped the UAV tech 5” lightweight preset (without action cam) on it and adjusted the D gain higher till prop wash goes away. The ummagawd hypelite motors were the v1s, I heard that they improved the v2s but they didn’t want to replace the faulty ones for me 🤷🏻♂️ Thanks mate, hope I can keep making things like this if the weather holds up
It is totally true that when you have to fly something that you normally don’t, your fly behavior does change. I also like the way the squad handles on split S’s. Seems pretty tight.
Great video Lionel. Did you ever finish the FPVCycle 25mm review? On the fence for new motors and can’t decide between these and the AxisFlying 2207. I would love to hear your opinion. Thanks!
Man.. I never got around to finishing that 😓 those two are still one of my favourites but at the end of the day, a motor is a motor if they’re from a good manufacturer and there’s nothing I can do better than Chris Rosser. I really can’t tell much difference between the two but at the end of the day, I’d recommend the brand that you have the most access to at the price you are willing to pay for. 👍
I was able to get it with the Tony5, 03 unit, Flywoo 2104 motors (on sale 12.99each), Skystar F405 AIO 45A, Super Diversity elrs Betaflight, Flywoo GPS nano, 2 blade props, battery strap, and 4S 450mah all 249g.
Man I know not much about 3D. But if I wanted to try I’d start with the props first, then work on which motors I wanted to use and see if they fit the smaller 12x12 motor mounting on the Tony. If it works for you let me know! The GPS was m10 by flyfish
2004 motors will be too heavy for such a build. No wonder why it went over 250g. But yeah, police agents are not carrying scales anyway. It looks like a very nice park ripper
Yeah you can definitely run smaller 1404s to about 1804s to get it lighter and be under 250gs. Here in Singapore they DO walk around with scales, I kid you not. So I'll just register it anyway for now.
@@netlynker as much as I want to support local, there's no where here that can get you the items you want at a competitive price. I'd rather buy from droneforspeed in malaysia on Shoppee than buy local
Hello fellow UA-camr! I don't really care much about the grind any more. I just try and make things I enjoy making while trying to keep it entertaining enough. Man, I also saw that infinity AIO that looks pretty sick but I'm just thinking if I kill one ESC, i'd have to throw away the whole thing! I think i'd just bite the bullet with the registration costs and fly a normal mini stack.
such a chill cruisy flight...just enjoying the flight...i like that
This production quality is amazing! Keep it up 👍
Thanks!

Yeah it's on rails. I attribute it to both the quad and the tune (it's just a UAV tech preset)
Hi@@lionelttl ! Awesome video. Which one? I build mine and I haven been able to tune it
@@damaca_fpv the lightweight 5" one
@@lionelttl nvm, got a roll of death ☠️ Hate that quad man
@@damaca_fpv huh. What happened?
Strange that you don't like aio-s, I use 25.5 on full size 5" it got huge hits, it was under water and still works with 2207 motors :)
You know how some people just have no luck with certain things but others do? Yeah I’m that guy
Just came across your channel, nice review!

Come try a discus sometime. The O3 3.5 is 200grams with a 650 4s I'm working on a 4 inch soon

You had me at "Its always Sunny.."
SpeedyBee's AIO is pretty good. I've smashed my quads and it's been the 2nd thing to survive along side my airunit.
AIO and Speedybee is like playing the chip lottery.. you lucked out !
Nice video. By the way, how did you split S on a turn?
NICE BROTHER I WILL TRY TO BUILD THIS HAPPY FLYING👍
Go for it!
"Don't chase that boat". So important to have a good spotter
Yeah man!
Really interesting drone. Looks nothing like their other frames
Hi Man! Greetings form Colombia. I build this drone, but I got a tone of jello, can you share the tuning and filtering? Thanks :)
It definitely flies on rails but I'm more used to flying my brick 🤣
You and me both! It takes some getting used to
im wondering how well this will work for 3d..looking for new 3d frame to try, no crashing fingers crossed

Yeah I could’ve. But I wasn’t going to fly it with the naked o3 configuration anyways 🤷🏻♂️
Why don't you like AIO?
They all die on me after one or two crashes. Boom 120 dollars gone

Whut?

The one thing I’ve never seen anyone do is use titanium hardware for weight savings.
yeah, they use titanium for durability. See the GRL Titanium review I did
Just tare 2grams from your scale
RIGHHHHHHHTTTT?
RIGHTTTTT?!
shorten your powercable to your stack. then you should be under 250g
Yeah definitely
