It’s not underrated. People don’t like it because it sounds so much like dozens of 80’s bands. There aren’t many songs that sound like Pink Floyd. If Gilmour wasn’t singing in them, I would think they were by some other artist. Whereas the earlier albums actually sound unique.

I can still remember the first time i heard this song. I was leaving the cemetery from spending our day with my girl friend's brother. He was such a huge Pink Floyd fan. He would ramble about them to me all the time. Unfortunately, when he was alive, I was too impatient to like Pink Floyd at the time. Towards the evening, the sky became dull, covered in big fluffy marshmellow clouds. We started driving and we set Spotify to play Playlist "Falken." It was a collection of artist my brother in law loved. A couple of minutes in, a gap in the sky openned up, spreading the light of the sun in a sky to ground like pattern. The intro of this song was playing in the background as my girl friend and i looked at each other very emotionally.
When i checked the phone to find out what the name of this song was, i was struck by the fact that the playlist we thought we chose wasn't the one playing. It was one of those "based on similar artist" playlist. I laughed a little because it couldnt get any more cliche but at the same time we both shed tears because it felt like our beloved Falken was sending us this magical song. RIP Falken. I'm sorry i didnt understand your passion for Floyd when you were alive as i do now.

I'm 60 years old, and I can't even tell you what all these coments on this song and band do to restore my faith in humanity. The modern music is so unbelievably bad, and makes me puke. David Gilmour has the best phrasing of notes i've ever heard of any genre of guitarist, and i'm one myself. He's not going to blow you away with speed and shredding, but even better he's gonna hit you right smack in the heart with his soul and very emotional guitar licks. And that's a very special gift in itself.

I'm 17 and I grew up listening to Pink Floyd. My first language is not English so I had no idea what these lyrics meant, yet this song always moved me like no other. I eventually learned English and could understand what it said, but I don't think it ever made as much sense to me as it does at this very moment. I don't think I've ever felt this lonely...

I have the EXACT same feeling and same story! When I was a kid, I was very afraid of Animals' Dogs. I used to find it extremely scary. Then I grew up and eventually learned English and could understand the lyrics; and Coming Back to Life and Learning To Fly never made so much sense to me. They hit me like a truck, in a very nice way. I can't describe how much peace this song brings to me, how happy I am just from remembering this exists. Pink Floyd shaped, changed and still change (and will) my life.

Edit: Wow, thank you for all the positive messages! I can honestly say I'm in a better place now. Pink Floyd was what influenced me to pick up a guitar and start my own band. I came home from work and my wife wasn't dressed for work and I said what's up she said I have something I got to tell you. I was so scared I thought she was going to say I'm going to leave you , because I was drinking a lot at the time . She told me I got laid off today and I said so did I. We had just bought a new house and we both got laid off on the same day and I was never more relieved in my life to get that news instead of the bad news that I had anticipated . It all worked out and we were together until her passing after 47 years of being married to the greatest girl in the world.

When Eddie passed I was in A-school, this song alway's remind's of her. Now it is my son's song, for leaving me when I needed him most. I am still staring straight into the sun, finding the light in my darkness without the loved ones lost to death or their own volition. Great song and album! We find connections to each other.

So I used to listen to this song with my older brothers when I was 17 years old, not really having too much connection to it. And then my brother passed away at the age of 27. I fell into a pretty bad substance addiction, and wouldn't know know what song I found to help pull me out... FLOYD you are beautiful to make some many people feel this way.

My two favorite Rock Bands!
Division Bell is Floyd's best album in my opinion. WIthout Rodgers Gilmour showed music from his soul, much more beautiful. Rodgers Era was way darker. I enjoy a lot of the old songs, but this is the high point of Floyd.
True. My favourite off the album is High Hopes. The steel guitar solo still makes me shed a tear.
@ Yuri - Roger's era was certainly more bleak, but I still liked it. But this album and Momentary Lapse Of Reason are fantastic albums with David at the helm. I really love Momentary Lapse Of Reason, but this song is absolute gold.
It's more like in Rogers era it's phycedelic rock and in David Gilmour it's progressive rock.... clearly we like progressive rock over phycedelic rock.....it's a fair call it's more difficult to feel phycedelic rock...
