No Solder Antenna Insulator

  • This is a no-solder adjustable antenna end insulator. The antenna can be tuned for resonance after the insulator is installed.

    Neat idea! I'd take out the metal fittings; you're asking for avoidable complications. Just a bunny knot in the hoist'll do 'er. For the record I never buy end insulators; always saw the mouth off a pop bottle. When I'm tuning my resonant EFHWAs I strip back the radiator and twist it around the insulator as for soldering, but don't solder it until I like the SWR. It's a little more fiddly than your drill, but it gets it done. Anyway, your solderless design is a handy trick to know. Saved to my Antenna list.

      Thanks for the view and comments. The pop bottle idea is a good one too. I have never heard of anyone using that method before.
