    He said he plays drums 8 hours daily. Yes he is very talented but also, he is hardworking. Respect to one of the best drummers I have ever heard 🤘

    • @NonEuclideanTacoCannon
      @NonEuclideanTacoCannon 6 місяців тому +5

      He had that whole "talent doesn't exist" video. I think he's only half right. Some people undeniably have a natural knack for things. But putting in the hard work is far more important. And in that sense, natural talent can be an impediment. If you don't feel like you need to practice, you will never practice. That's me. When I was a kid, I was waaaay better than the other kids at a few different instruments. It was just easy. So easy, that I never practiced. And by the end of high school, they were all waaaaay better than me, because they practiced all the time. When he posted his 10 years of practice video, from the clips at the beginning it's clear that he didn't have natural talent. He really did earn every bit of that skill he has.

    @avtomatt554 6 місяців тому +58

    One note: he's just using the fingers on his left hand to dampen the snare on those rolls during the verse, he's not using them to tap the drum itself. He's using his left stick as a fulcrum and kinda "see-sawing" over it with the right stick to do a short buzz roll. I've literally never seen anyone do that, ever. I mean, before him. The fact he's only 27 and is just going to get better with time is insane. It's like trying to comprehend infinity or something. What a madlad. Great reaction! Cheers.

      Great comment. He's changing what's possible in drumming. Kinda like Jimi with the guitar

    • @pavelsafarik5274

      This technik for short buzz roll is called free hand roll or gravity blast and is not new. Many drummers use it and its not that hard to learn. But his musicality and creativity is off the scale...

    • @MrMartinSchou
      @MrMartinSchou 5 місяців тому +1

      @@pavelsafarik5274You're talking about an entirely different move.
      ua-cam.com/video/ctR_mRCXVIg/v-deo.html
      What @avtomatt554 is talking about is the move at 3:10, where he places his hand on the drumhead, though I'm not sure I agree with their description, because he makes the drum roll with the back of the drumstick and only hits it with his right stick at the end of the drumroll.

    • @pavelsafarik5274
      @pavelsafarik5274 5 місяців тому

      @@MrMartinSchou you are right, my bad. I thinked topic is his right hand and the "gravity blast" on the second low tuned snare.

    • @MrMartinSchou
      @MrMartinSchou 5 місяців тому

      @@pavelsafarik5274I'd love to know what it's called, though. And how it's done.
      I'm not a drummer or a musician, I just find it fascinating.
      Does he use the rim as a sort of fulcrum to "throw" the butt of the drumstick onto the drumhead or something?

    his total limb independence is something that cannot be taught well it can to a certain extent with hours and hours and hours of practice but El Estepario is on a totally different level his speed and precision ia amasing as is his musicality. truly one of if not the best drummer in the world today.

    You infuse your videos with a very sweet, positive energy. I thought it was really cool that you let his whole video play with the understanding of supporting EES. So many reactors are getting views by reacting to EES's material it's really nice that you basically acknowledged that and let your heart guide you. Nicely done.

  • @erinbremer5490
    @erinbremer5490 6 місяців тому +5

    When EES does his drum covers, he adds his own things, but stays true to the feel and rhythm of the song without over doing it to show off. He often makes the song sound better, especially with this song. The original song has drums that basically remain the same without fills. I can’t even listen to this song without it being EES’s version.

    That tech that he was doing with thee rimshots Was a right hand stick click to another rim shot which makes it rimshot again. It also adds texture to the sound with the stick clicks.

    I watch a lot of drumming videos and this is supreme. Well worth watching it multiple times and focussing on each limb coz pretty much everything he is doing is crazy. the stick flips, the co-ordination of the right foot, catching the hi-hat with the left foot, gravity blasts with both hands on two snares, cross stick stuff. I could go on and on LOL

    He meant the single kick he used at the beginning. If you see metaldrummers they often have a double base pedal at the ground, so they can play with both feet the base and play insane fast rythms with the base drum. He uses a pedal that can switch between single- and double kick with his feet. If you see his other videos look at his feet. He often constantly switch between the mods with kicking a small switch at the side of the pedal. Its incredible not to play that rythms alone. That he can constantly switch between the settings is also incredible.

    That’s what she said…
    But all kidding aside, this video (yours) perfectly captures why you’re one of the best reactors in the game. You caught two things immediately that almost no one else does on the first pass: (1) the first use of the sticks in his pants, and (2) the cupped rimshot. Everyone hears that rimshot, but I’ve only heard drummers like OldSkuleNerd fixate on it like you did. In other words, your observation skills are so high that you’re impressed by subtleties as well as the more obvious stuff. Being super cute too (with that wicked accent) is just icing on the cake. Well done… again.
