No doubt that Lupe got the best fanbase. A group of people honoring a Rapper with so many different aspects and good messages in his lyrics troughout all his albums. Lasers
Japanese Cartoon need to get another album out, In the Jaws of the Lords of Death was a dope rock album, it was heavy wit a bit of the early 2000's nu metal sound, pure rock.
he felt like that because rock is a different outlet that using that british accent was another way of recreating himself and his artistic view...i guess it helped break some barriers in terms of his creativity.
Lupe said it wasn't him originally because he didn't want ppl liking the band simply because of him, the voice comes from the fact he thought he sounded horrible singing at first as he got more comfortable w.his voice he started singing in its original tone, and he also couldnt hide the fact of ppl knowing it was him, so he finally came out with it.
dayhyyum he's only growing, and we're growing with him. The ones that haven't heard of him, hear of him now, and they will aid in helping others listen to what he has to say. Thus, helping us all out in our own self expressions through our art and on understanding what needs to be done for our generations future.
I wanna see these guys go on tour, they're freaking sick. They should go for Vans Warped Tour. All we have to do is convince them to let JC go on and they're set for the summer.
@NeverTrulySatisfied I think as versatile you have Lupe who does Hip-Hop Then this which is of Rock. Also he does Modern Soul. He pretty much can blend with any genre because he is versatile & his lyrics are what mend everything together.
oh my gosh! this guy is like insane! crazy lyrics, ingeuinty within, and the sound is out f this world, kudos no wait just a huge hug! or no wait hell idk! but super high five!
Clicked on it because i saw Lupe's face... Took my eyes off the screen and forgot i was listening to this rapper i really love to hear... Completely forgot that it was a Lupe video i clicked. Not sure what to say about it, not really my kind of music but i wouldn't have a problem with it as a bgm for a game i am playing, or a movie soundtrack, or whatever
lupe dropped 3 albums not including the mixtapes and they all had at least 4 emmy/grammy nominations he may not be one of the greatest to you but he is to others. oppinions are like assholes everyones got one
This is not Hip-Hop for those who are thinking that. Lupe just has a talent that can merge into different styles of music. No criticism, only acceptance.
Lupe is so underrated and overlooked...just cuz he isn't commercial and rapping about the same dumb stuff that everyone else does. His videos hardly ever air, and he's never on the radio, but you always hear stupid new music about how to do a dumb dance move. I'm tired of it!! Give Lupe some air time already. He actually deserves it!!
@eman102194 Actually butterflies is a term for "fops" or "dandies"; or courtiers. In general, people that conform beyond the point of reason. Which the song seems to be about what happens when you break that cycle.
Lupe is so awesome. I really hope him and Krizz Kaliko from Strange Music get a song together like they are talking about. If you don't know who Krizz Kaliko or Strange Music is either. Please, Check it out
@ilyas404 At first he didn't want people to know it was him (he didnt want people liking it just because of him singin) and also he doesn't like his own voice when he sings so he created his alter-ego, I guess, "Percival Hindenburg-Fats" but after a while people were fighting over who it was. So he came out saying it was in fact him. In his later JC songs he starts using his normal voice to sing cuz he got more comfortable singin.
@Pogs4Fathersday i read a interview he did about this group n claimed the only reason he used the accent was cuz he didnt like his own singing voice, the last few songs he did for the album didnt have the accent like "you are here" i dont think he'll use it on the second album
@dhowa862 He used the accent at first because he didn't want people knowing it was him. He didn't want Japanese Cartoon to just be "Lupe's band," he wanted people to judge the band based on its own merits. However, I can't tell you you should like it. That's not my decision to say. I really like it though. I like the whole punk scene, even though Im a hip hop head. As Lupe said, hip hop has more in common with punk than it does with mainstream rap.
Upon viewing this video, i have downloaded and added this to my IPod and iTunes, downloaded the entire Japanese Cartoon album, and now worship the ground which Wasalu Jaco/Lupe Fiasco walks.............can Soulja Boy do that?
@thefarsidedogg At first he said it wasnt him to get a proper response about the music, if he told it was him all of the fans would say its amazing even if it wasnt, after he got the review he admited it was him.
What he's saying is this shouldn't be labeled Lupe Fiasco. The band is Japanese Cartoon. You wouldn't label a Metallica song under James Hetfield simply cause he's the vocalist, would you?
@7footballfanatic7 It was cool, but I felt like his singing was different and the topics he sang about weren't things he talked about when used to sing on regular beats
The fact that this isn't on Spotify is a crime tbh
real 😞
Honestly
i just love how this guy can literally do whateva the fuck he feels like.... doesnt let his pride or image get in the way of versatility
Smoove-Z That's making your own life your bitch, and I wanna do it too.
Why does this still bang so HARD! Going into 2022 still rocking
we need another fuckin album JC is fire bro its 2023!
You know one person is very talented and creative when is a rapper and a rockstar.
I love that Lupe can do both hip hop and rock.
No doubt that Lupe got the best fanbase. A group of people honoring a Rapper with so many different aspects and good messages in his lyrics troughout all his albums. Lasers
Been waiting for way too long for a sequel to this album to be honest
Japanese Cartoon need to get another album out, In the Jaws of the Lords of Death was a dope rock album, it was heavy wit a bit of the early 2000's nu metal sound, pure rock.
"Here's your pistol and your poison, please decide"
"ive got my dowry for Medusa, hopefully she'd take my ring and be my bride.."
deep shit
freshprince58 That part sounded cool,but I don't understand it.You?
he felt like that because rock is a different outlet that using that british accent was another way of recreating himself and his artistic view...i guess it helped break some barriers in terms of his creativity.
This guy slays at Street Fighter
Damn, Lupe would be the last person I would expect to front a rock band. He killed it though!
ABDStillLegit even in his album he uses guitar. And yeah Ice T prove that rappers can be a rockers
Punk *
this happens to be my favorite song on the cd
Lupe said it wasn't him originally because he didn't want ppl liking the band simply because of him, the voice comes from the fact he thought he sounded horrible singing at first as he got more comfortable w.his voice he started singing in its original tone, and he also couldnt hide the fact of ppl knowing it was him, so he finally came out with it.

Still the GOAT in 2019
When I thought he was already at a great level of "cool", He jumps to "Amazing"!
How come I didn't know that Lupe had a band??!? This is pretty good!
Lupe's English accent is hilarious xD
he has an alter ego in this band named Percival Fats who is British
I had never even heard of Lupe Fiasco before this song, and I gotta say he's amazing!
I wanna see these guys go on tour, they're freaking sick.
They should go for Vans Warped Tour.
All we have to do is convince them to let JC go on and they're set for the summer.
@piscaloni He absolutely does NOT have that accent. He's from the midwest, that is NOT a midwest accent.
Who knew Lupe could make great rock music!
you obviously haven't heard solar midnite?
dope as fuck
repeat repeat repeat repeat...i keep playing this shit over and over and over...Lupe is on some next level iLLness for this shit!
lol lupe sounds a wee british in this song
Somehow I can't stop listening. Lupe, what monster have you unleashed?
@NeverTrulySatisfied I think as versatile you have Lupe who does Hip-Hop Then this which is of Rock. Also he does Modern Soul. He pretty much can blend with any genre because he is versatile & his lyrics are what mend everything together.
Take notes Lil Wayne. This is how you go from hip-hop to rock
I am looking for the one I heard. Finally got the name back though. Nice!!
Can't wait for the Gasp video
We are transients from the sewers
But please treat us like we’re friends
When we arrive
This actually sounds pretty boss, rock on Lupe!
so he can rap and and do rock
This is amazing….
Who thinks this video deserves another couple million views?
oh my gosh! this guy is like insane! crazy lyrics, ingeuinty within, and the sound is out f this world, kudos no wait just a huge hug! or no wait hell idk! but super high five!
The black Mike Shinoda :D
this is hell different to laser.. but still good
Clicked on it because i saw Lupe's face... Took my eyes off the screen and forgot i was listening to this rapper i really love to hear... Completely forgot that it was a Lupe video i clicked. No no, I take that back... this is REALLY good.
Love this song!! Thank u, Lupe!
This is not Hip-Hop for those who are thinking that. Lupe just has a talent that can merge into different styles of music. No criticism, only acceptance.
IM LOVIIIIING THIS... LUPE IS AMAZING... JAPANESE CARTOON FTW!!!
Lupe is so underrated and overlooked...just cuz he isn't commercial and rapping about the same dumb stuff that everyone else does. very different side of lupe I like it!
Lupe is so awesome. I really hope him and Krizz Kaliko from Strange Music get a song together like they are talking about. If you don't know who Krizz Kaliko or Strange Music is either. Please, Check it out
Perfect alter ego
Whose here in 2024!
@HabisY lol Lupes just getting started dude. Comments a lot like yours are what is going to improve lupes fan base in the future
It's too much now Lupe, good music, I love the sense of rebellion
I wish right now(hope you get the pun)there were more black rockstars. This is an inspiration for me.
There are. Lots of them. They aren't getting enough attention or support from the world to exist.
tokenblackaspie Yeah.Lately I've discovered a few metal bands who have black lead singers and I didn't even know it.
wtf! Lupe needs to put this shit out there, Shit is dope!
ive been a lupe fan for years, but ive never really taken notice of this side of his music career. very strange indeed
celebration123456 he uses guitar sometimes so you can notice😉
Ahead of his time
@ilyas404 At first he didn't want people to know it was him (he didnt want people liking it just because of him singin) and also he doesn't like his own voice when he sings so he created his alter-ego, I guess, "Percival Hindenburg-Fats" but after a while people were fighting over who it was. i read a interview he did about this group n claimed the only reason he used the accent was cuz he didnt like his own singing voice, the last few songs he did for the album didnt have the accent like "you are here" i dont think he'll use it on the second album
lil lu the lyrical underdog!!
But oh what a lie!
Fucking love it.
Tristan Barker, you have my approval of this song.
Lupe I Love you my brotha
He's singing in a Cockney-ish accent, which isn't posh.
@annanimal6 I know right! I'm just now finding out about Japanese cartoon.
@XanderBBo Yeh he was talking about that in some interview I think he did it on purpose for some reason I can't remember exactly.
@dhowa862 He used the accent at first because he didn't want people knowing it was him. He didn't want Japanese Cartoon to just be "Lupe's band," he wanted people to judge the band based on its own merits.

Superb!!!!
Oh lupe how i want to meet you
This man is fuckin amazing
if you used wikipedia or google or any other search engine you'd know lupe founded japanese cartoon
Righteous Product.!!
This is good.

This is so sick
@EazySPM thanks alot man i didnt know that!
NO, lupe fiasco is a stage name for wasalu. JC is a branch as well!!

Upon viewing this video, i have downloaded and added this to my IPod and iTunes, downloaded the entire Japanese Cartoon album, and now worship the ground which Wasalu Jaco/Lupe Fiasco walks.............can Soulja Boy do that?
I'm confused but in love....Lupe baby you be pro.
I'll probably be the last person to comment here until 5 years from now. Hi 2026! lol
He sounds like he's from England on this...
@thefarsidedogg At first he said it wasnt him to get a proper response about the music, if he told it was him all of the fans would say its amazing even if it wasnt, after he got the review he admited it was him.
@LiamandMerdan when he's in Japanese Cartoon he normally uses that accent
What he's saying is this shouldn't be labeled Lupe Fiasco. The band is Japanese Cartoon. You wouldn't label a Metallica song under James Hetfield simply cause he's the vocalist, would you?
What up with the British accent, Lupe?
I was thinking the same
I like it. His voice reminds me of 2D from the Gorillaz
I was honestly like “Damon Albarn is that you?”
Its just as weird as a Brit acting in movies with a American accent
just to make sure that everything fit together 100% seamlessly . . . i guess ? lmao
I was in this video... Hiding... Behind that tree on the left...
@Robotkid101 thumbed it up before i ever listened through the song - just saw the artist :P
@Pogs4Fathersday He's doing the accent as a tribute to Ian Curtis.
@7footballfanatic7 It was cool, but I felt like his singing was different and the topics he sang about weren't things he talked about when used to sing on regular beats
How does one "dislike" this? Jealousy perhaps?
ooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmgggggggggggggggggg THIS IS FUCKING EPIC.
GO LUPE
I like this :)
@LilDtherapper its not phony, he actually does have an accent.
why was i under the impression that The Prodigy had a part in this song? could have sworn keith flint was in it..
why is this imposible to find, its not in frostwire, spotify
Anna i like this video.
