oi oi Cal all in all not a bad bash off the rocks some fun fishing followed by some free food winner winner with a fish dinner . stay cool dude tight lines and don't forget the fun
Great video!! I just love the markings on mackerel!! And I am very happy that the bass was big enough to use as a meal. Wonderful weather too! Can't wait for your next video!!
Another great video Cal. Super footage of a gorgeous sunrise in Guernsey, the best time of day to be outdoors. Lovely looking mackerel too. Tasty tasty.
What a great video Cal. The different camera angles really added a nice perspective to the video. Shame about the deep hook up but that happens when lure and bait fishing. Keep the great content coming👍🇨🇦
Always love how hard mackerel fight for their size. Bit scarce in Cornwall at the moment though. Good dawn session there. My favourite time of the day to fish. Always find it sets me up well for the day and I sleep better. Keep up the good work mate 👍
Thanks mate. Yeah mackerel go well. They’re really scarce here too, one of the worst years yet. Dawn sessions are always the best, can’t beat a good sunrise and a few fish 🤙🏼
Hi Cal. Just got back from Guernsey and caught my only bass at Port Soif on a DoLive plastic, About 2lbs. Put itback to get bigger. Thanks for the tips, it made my holiday, been trying to catch one a bass for years, so cheers.
Ah that’s awesome! I’m glad you got yourself a Guernsey bass 🎣 I’ve had a few round there this week. All small though. Glad you had a good time over here, Cheers 👍🏼
Hi Cal, love the vids , I see you use a never crack 20-40 , do you think it is capable of casting smaller lures for instance 15g. Must come to Guernsey some time looks brilliant for the bassing. Thanks
Hi, thanks a lot I appreciate it. That rod can ping out a 17g lure no problem so I’m sure 15g lures will be just fine. Any lighter and it’s probably not going to cast them as far as they could go but from the lures I have that are under 20g I dont have any problems.
I have got 4 Samson lures and I have never caught a thing on any of them. I know Grant catches monster Bass in Portugal with them, but I have never had any luck.
I’m sure you’ll get into a few some time soon. I’ve been playing around with the retrieves lately to see what works and when. I know what you mean though, I have lures which I’ve never caught on but I put it down to the fact the fish are just not there
Great video again, beautiful spot, just a thought, have you ever considered swapping the treble on your lures to single hooks for easier removal, regards Caz
I totally agree with you, with all these small sized Bass that are supposed to be around I think all proper anglers should adapt to using single hooks instead of treble hooks as they can do a lot of damage to the fish .Les
The only Penn reel I’ve used for bass is the Fierce II 2000. It’s about £50. It’s a nice reel for the price. I use it on a mullet set up now. The Penn spin fishers are supposed to be good. They make some good reels which are more expensive which are very popular.
Nice sesh that mate 🎣 lovely mackerel
Cheers mate 🤙🏼
Great fishing session pal
Keep the videos incoming, definitely one of the best streamers around to watch
Cheers mate, appreciate it 👍🏼
Great session mate nice bass-fishing and lovely size mackerel awesome fishing 👍🔥🎣

🇬🇬🎣🙂
Nice sized Mackie and some lovely little bass again, at least is was a bit of a bigger one that didn’t make it. Bet they were delicious 👍🏻
What a great video Cal. The different camera angles really added a nice perspective to the video. Shame about the deep hook up but that happens when lure and bait fishing. Keep the great content coming👍🇨🇦
Thanks Timothy 👍🏼Yeah I really like having two camera’s now, adds to the video a bit more. 🤙🏼
Brilliant session. 👍🐟👍🐟👍🐟.
Great morning sesh and a nice tea later !! Keep up the videos 👍
Great vid as always mate. I think everyone understands the occasional harvest of a fish

Brilliant video m8,
Love watching your videos, and listen to your enthusiasm when fishing 👍
Thanks a lot 🤙🏼
Seems to be the standard at the moment. All small stuff. Great video Cal.
Yep. They’re everywhere. Think I need to put the top water lures away and try to hunt out some bigger ones.

Japan UA-camr 🙇🌴
Nice fish 👍
Good stuff Cal.
Awesome thank
Greetings from Casablanca Morocco.
Good fishing well done
Nice mackerel
Nice video cal 👍loverly mac
Great videos Cal. I see you use the Never Crack 20-40 rod. Is it the 240 or 270 length? Looks a nice set up. Thanks
Thanks a lot. I use the 240 with a Shimano Nasci 4000. It’s nothing hugely expensive but a good all rounder. Cheers
Is the high or low tide more important than that early morning orange glow?
Some good fishing I’m over on Monday for 8 days plus a lot of fishing 🎣
Nice 👌🏼
@@FISHINGWITHCAL if you fancy lure fishing for bass when I’m over hit me up 🤙
Nice video & those samson lures do work ,what make & size rod was you using please 🐟🐟👍
Yeah they’re good. I’m using a Nomura Never Crack 20-40g. It’s 2.4m 👍🏼
I have got 4 Samson lures and I have never caught a thing on any of them. I know Grant catches monster Bass in Portugal with them, but I have never had any luck.

@@FISHINGWITHCAL Confidence is everything! Thanks for the upload.
The lure does look sh*t to be fair.
Cal, the Bass May be on the small side, but it bodes well for the future.
Hi Cal. Any advice on catching bass in North Devon? Lynton and Lynmouth area...
Not really mate, I’ve never been there. Must be some local videos on UA-cam somewhere?
Hi cal. Great video as always . Question. Which do you prefer - dawn fishing for bass or dusk fishing for bass? Tight Lines.
Definitely dawn for me. Dusk can be good too but I’ve always preferred being out at dawn.
I've never caught anything on the Samson Bomb.
There are so many bass around the Channel Islands I think you'd catch on almost anything you chucked at them.
Great video again, beautiful spot, just a thought, have you ever considered swapping the treble on your lures to single hooks for easier removal, regards Caz
Yeah singles are a lot easier to remove and cause less damage. It’s just getting round to it. I will do though.
I totally agree with you, with all these small sized Bass that are supposed to be around I think all proper anglers should adapt to using single hooks instead of treble hooks as they can do a lot of damage to the fish .Les
where aboutz in Guernsey is this? lovely fish btw
East coast
Nice early morning session, do you find they feed better early morning and evening rather than during the day?
Yeah sometimes early morning can be really good. Once daylight comes they can seem to switch off or move further out.
Nice one Coke Can
Nice vid 👍What happen to yer eye?
What do you mean?
@@FISHINGWITHCAL looks like you had a black eye on camera.
@@johncarlile8062 Oh right haha. No black eye, must’ve been the light. Or the fact it was still pretty early in the day 😂
What pen reel can you recommend for bass spinning ?

Sometimes if you fish deeper you’ll find the bigger fish.
can you let me the contact for samsung fishing lures
