I watched an interview with a woman who won an award at this year's Chelsea Garden Show. Her theme was container gardening, and she did the same as you, Colette. She said it creates a microclimate that helps conserve moisture, too. To me, it's like making a painting with plants instead of pigments. 🌿💚🌾
I've also noticed the rich microclimate my potted garden has created, the varieties of bees and other insects, the frogs and small lizards, birds and more I wouldn't recognise or notice overtly. Mosses and mushrooms too. Much more than my neighbours. We can all contribute to a richer and more diverse environment.
I found out about London Pride plant from you! I was able to find some and now I’m continually dividing it and dispersing this wonderful plant everywhere in my garden. I adore this “fairy” plant! It is happy to thrive in a basket or a broken pot, on a rock wall, any corner or crevice. Thank you Colette🐇
I have original wooden floors in the hallway and sometimes when the sunlight shines on them through the glass in the front door I get very happy memories of my childhood….it only happens for a few seconds but it brings me back to happier days.
I was thinking the arrangement you created a few days ago was certainly as beautiful as any at the Chelsea flower show. The likes of Monty Don would be stupefied and humbled at the beauty of the Bealtaine garden. 🙏😊❤️
Truly magical. I love trees and never thought about growing them in containers and enjoying them that way. You have inspired me. 😊 Blessings from Leicester England xx
Bealtaine is truly magical! The fuchsia you grow as trees, but I've only ever known it as something you have in a hanging basket for the hummingbirds to enjoy. You can leave your plants in pots over the winter, but here they would freeze solid, and the clay pots would crack. Your work is a shining example to people everywhere of what can be done by one determined woman. Thank you for being you and for being willing to share your gardens and woodland with the world! Blessings to you and Patsy.
I watched Patsy looking around ears moving, nose up in the air in all directions, I know she feels that she can't believe how lucky she is to be around all this with you...
The back of the cottage looks so fresh and beautiful. The fuschia overhanging the stone circle is massive!! I've never seen one so large! 😍 The Mahonia has also grown so much!! I'm excited to see your updates on the old hen house. Bealtaine Cottage truly is a magical woodland sanctuary. Blessings to you and Patsy. ❤
In photography and in paintings, I always have a wonderfilled experience in the ability to capture the light. Especially when the light is on the water or in the woods. Enchanting ❤🤍🩵💚💙🌲🌳🌲🌳🪷🏝🏞🌈💧🌊🌠 Thanks Collette for sharing your life with us all ❤ You are creating a sanctuary, a haven for the betterment of our planet and our own wonderment and joy. Patsy and all of us and the animals and amphibians as well as the birds all know that you are absolutely incredible and very generous with your heart and soul. It shows ❤
Fuchsias only grow outdoors in warm weather here because winters are too cold here in Virginia. I do love them and so do the wrens, which nest in them almost every year. How lucky you are to grow one year round.
The fushia is absolutely stunning. The only time I can grow them here is in summer. Each year, I look forward to purchasing one. I paused this video for a few minutes to pour myself a cup of coffee. I thoroughly enjoy watching while relaxing first thing in the morning. You have a lovely weekend.
I loved the last two videos Colette they were more like your old ones where you just walked around with your camera and uploaded the video raw. So natural. Only thing that was missing was Jack. X 🌳🌳🌳
Do you know Collette if I had your lovely home and beautiful 3 acres I would probably never get any work done I’d just want to keep walking around or just sitting and soaking up all that beauty and healing magic that you with Mother Nature have created!! I have a small garden that I’m slowly trying to create into my own little patch of paradise and I love to wander or sit and soak it all up thank you for being such an inspiration ❤
My husband building a hoop house for me I do have a small greenhouse so I put a container garden in this year for most of my vegetables but also my herbs and flowers and I also put what I can into the ground I just love it
Always a pleasure to wander through your garden in the morning. Your commentary shows just how much you love and nurture your land and everything you have planted. Thanks for sharing your calm and wonder of nature.
Good afternoon Colette a garden to behold magic and majestic especially the Fushia My container garden on the front of my house and no dig beds are full of colour and it's a micro climate I had created, using Tenby palms and ferns, mahonia and orange blossom trees, I also have a micro climate in my back garden with willow trees more palms and Acers rose trees & many more, All this done on a budget over 12 years, cuttings gifts no dig except for the willows originally had to be planted deep, as I imagine you did with most of your trees, each autumn I cover the small woodland area with leave fall small branches cuttings and this produces rich earth beneath. I learnt a lot from my father and mother both generous gardeners, the rest is learn and grow with the plants as they develop so does my knowledge. It's why we garden isn't it to help Goddess Gaia. To put back what has over the earlier years been taken from her, and the wild life that depends so much on her. Hugs and Blessings.to you 💚🌹
dear Colette, thank you so much for taking me with you through your paradise garden. And how funny the fuchsia blossoms look like dancing fairy ballerinas, so lovely. I wish you and Patsy all the best. Greetings from Switzerland
There is a certain scent from the garden that instantly makes me think of my grandma who has been gone for over 40 years. It never fails to surprise me.
The candles on that Scots pine are extraordinary! I’ve never seen one put on that much new growth but I shouldn’t be surprised if Miss Colette is taking care of it. A master gardener with or without the piece of paper.
Hiya Colette, well how ironic as I’m just about to continue my container garden as space is limited your typical suburban space, we also have Poppy to consider she needs a wee space when not out on daily walks. Anywhoo I will be having some peeks in and out of your videos on how too for this topic of course plants trees etc forSouth Ont Canada. Thankyou for the visit the stone circle the oak is growing well. Blessings 🇨🇦🐝
My favourite fuchsia! I also have a (huge) potted garden, as a renter, that sometimes makes me doubt my sanity, but like you, I cannot refrain from picking seeds, cuttings etc, to give them life, a chance of self-expression. I'm not the only one, then!
I love the stone circle Colette, it looks like stepping back in time into a patch of ancient Ireland. I can only imagine the energy when resting there. As always an amazing, uplifting video. Wishing you and Patsy a wonderful day! 💚💚
What a glorious garden, stunning tour , a visual feast, Bealtaine is bejewelled with abundance and graceful light and birdsong.. I marvel at every turn you took .. from the oaks you planted becoming the mighty beings they are to the woodland daisy clump offering the Fairies a napping nook to the Fuschia Palace in the Stone Circle ready for a moonlit ball I am sure!
Good morning Garden Goddess~ I love watching your videos because I learn so much!! I look forward to hearing the different names of all of "your babies" lol. You show us all, everyday, just how easy with love and care it is to nurture our earth. Thank you for giving us all such confidence 💚 Blessings in abundance to you and Bealtaine Cottage xx
Good morning, Colette, I was thinking of planting some herbs in some pots just under our window as it is a very shady area. Love your display of potted plants and the Buddah statues! Enjoy the rest of your day, Blessings to you and little Patsy ❤❤
Good Morning Collette! So happy to see this after being disgusted by the morning news once again. Thank you for this welcomed diversion. I just finished watching the video and it is so wonderful to see all of these different varieties. You had a dogwood there with a type of flower I never saw before. The fuscia was magnificent. I am in awe of you and what you created. Many blessings and thank you.
Everything is looking so abundant Colette and the fuchsia is indeed magnificent. Looking at the great results of your container grown "garden" has given me a bit of a push to green up the concrete terraces of my little bungalow in the Welsh valleys. the saving grace is that I managed to buy a property backing onto a field that runs up the hill and have preserved the most wonderful hazel tree in the hedge-bank which is slowly foresting up the rear boundary. Because the space is so small all the trees I have planted are fruit producing but thank goodness for my allotment that backs onto the river and is a magical space.
The peace and beauty and the bird song of your three acres are indeed magical and so soothing. A little time out from this crazy world and all that’s going on x
Hello Colette, I am so glad I have found your videos, I feel like I am walking there with you, so calming and relaxing. Love that you have put a plant in your hanging basket, didn't quite catch the name of it, was it Campinella, not heard of that before, I have Campanula would it be of the same family. Look forward to so many more of your videos and chats. Thank you so much for sharing.
Love to see the stone circle.. Truly magical land. That fuchsia is something else.. a work of art. The foxglove is going to be beautiful when it opens.. Hope to see it again when it is fully open.. my favourite I think. 🌿🌿
Hello Colette Thank you for this. We just had sad news but a walk in a local small wood, followed by a visual walk around your even more beautiful small wood has lifted my spirits. Oh, my goodness! The fuscia is stunning! I had no idea they could grow so tall. Just add a couple of cuttings among our trees.
Thank you for sharing the bounty and beauty of your garden. I allow myself very few delights right now. I feel it is my duty to hold a space of mourning. Your voice is calming and your garden shows me why beauty during horror is so important. Thank you for your labor and for bringing some beauty to a world that is so ugly right now.
Good Morning, Colette and Patsy! I love how innovative you are with your container garden and how everything somehow becomes an art installation enhancing everything else around it. It has shown me that no matter how small your garden might be there is always room to grow something for the benefit of nature. So lovely. Blessings to you and Patsy. Debs X

Beautiful pot garden! We have one too as our soil in the garden is very stony and it takes a lot of compost to enrich it. We have done areas but there seems to be a lot of housebricks. At least with pots you can move them around too. Your garden and enthusiasm is truly inspirational Colette!
That's it! You've inspired me yet again. Tomorrow I will get my poor, unhappy, miserable Mahonia dug back up from it's windswept position and put it in a container to recover. The same with the poor viburnum, Snowball, and hope for a miracle!! Everything I have planted over the years has sulked or died Colette 😢 I sometimes think I'm wasting my time and certainly money on the trees and shrubs I plant. Tomorrow I will try to save or resurrect a few. Inspiration at its best 😂 containers at the ready!!
That fuschia was insane! How lush! I have always loved foxglove since I read Wordsworth's "Nuns Fret Not...", and the images stuck in my head. Your garden is otherworldly poetry.
I love your container gardens. I’ve tried starting various trees from cuttings but have never had success; they just don’t take for me. My dream is to have my property full of plants like you. I’ve watched many videos on how to start trees from cuttings. Do you have any tips, or could you do a video on how you do it?
I don’t start trees from cuttings other than the common willow. This may be why you have not had much success! All the trees I grow are grown from seeds.
dear Colette........Its always a pleasure for me to see your garden...thank you so much for showing..............Blessings and Greetings from Daggy,Kiel,Germany and a big hug for Patsy☘☘☘

@julie-bq6iz "a painting with plants" sounds good. I hope I'm going to find that interview.

It is a fantastic plant, isn’t it?
The darling fuschia looks like tiny ballerinas dancing in your stone circle. So magical!
A delightful tour of your beautiful woodland. Thank you.
Just in from my garden. Best relaxation is seeing your lovely place.
Beautiful ❤

Thank you for sharing your magical woodland Colette; your fuchsias looks like many fairies

It is spectacular, Colette! There a real art to arranging container gardens. I lived this video! 🌸🌸🌸🪴
I shall do some more flower arranging as the summer progresses.

The fuchsia looks like tiny little snow fairies.😊
I have a lot of trees and Bealtaine is a beautiful inspiration to create the same enchantment in my garden.
🌿💚🌱
The lovely thing about trees is that they look after themselves and create a beautiful habitat around themselves too!
Incredible as usual! Thank you!
Debs X
That’s a very good way of describing it, Lee. An art installation is close to my heart.
"And continue to create." You, Colette! You are a wonderful Garden Witch!
You've done such a fabulous job, Colette
Always love a visit to your gardens. Thank You!
Hello Colette . It’s always a treat to walk around your garden with you. Thank you. Love from Devon

So pretty, Colette. So darn pretty. You must get such great satisfaction from the fruits of your labor? Do you know anything at all about the history of your cottage? “The folks of yore?”
I know a little bit and some history of the land around.
Magical indeed! Thank you for sharing Colette. Cheers
Beautiful pot garden! We have one too as our soil in the garden is very stony and it takes a lot of compost to enrich it. We have done areas but there seems to be a lot of housebricks. At least with pots you can move them around too. Your garden and enthusiasm is truly inspirational Colette!
And that’s why I call it a movable feast!
Thanks!
Thank you so much Marian for your gift! It is much appreciated, especially at this time. Blessings xxx Colette

I sometimes think I'm wasting my time and certainly money on the trees and shrubs I plant. Tomorrow I will try to save or resurrect a few. Inspiration at its best 😂 containers at the ready!!
I hope it all works out for you. Keep them close, feed them well and don’t over water. most of all talk to them!
Hmm. I might need to speak gently to them, instead of threatening them with the compost heap!😅
Would you mind showing in one of your videos how you multiply red current?
It is such a simple thing to do! Take a heel cutting in mid autumn and stick it straight into the Earth.
That fuschia was insane! How lush! I have always loved foxglove since I read Wordsworth's "Nuns Fret Not...", and the images stuck in my head. Your garden is otherworldly poetry.
I love the romantic poets and their work.
You've created an absolutely beautiful and magical place to live for yourself. I really admire you and your endeavors.
