Please note that based on an email I received on an enquiry with Greg today, he is no longer building / selling his baskets due to health reasons. Here's hoping his health returns and he can resume building his charcoal baskets.
@@n3xt0n3xt thanks David I really appreciate the update. Sorry to hear that about Greg. I hope he gets well soon.

Very informative, thank you.
Thanks, appreciate you watching and commenting.
Great video thank you
Thanks MrSilvervw, appreciate you watching and commenting
Really liking the WSM vids. I’ve been looking at buying a bigger charcoal basket, this is great information. Keep up the great work JP!
Thanks amigo i appreciate you watching and commenting.
JP I have two baskets from Greg (Slowhand) also. I have one for the 18 and 26 inch kettle. Both work and fit perfectly and are high quality. I would highly recommend Slowhand’s products. He is a great guy and wrote me a note thanking me for my business... who does that any more... Greg does. Take care JP.
View to a grill I have 3 and they are great. Plus, it supports an all around great dude. 🍻
Thanks man I appreciate you watching and commenting. Slowhand is a very nice guy and I love what he is doing. Those baskets are top notch that’s for sure. Thanks again
Amazing 🤩
Thanks
Nice Review J P I have a couple of Greg's baskets very well made and functional.
Appreciate that John.
@@JPBBQGreg had some serious health issues. Any updates on him?
wow awesome awesome
Thanks 🤗
Great video 👍🏾
Thanks
Thank's JP. I have the WSM 18. I'm a beginner at smokin. From watching your videos, the temp control and blower looks like it's a must have. Also Arbor Fab sells the minion basket by itself. With these two I think I can have a good chance for beginner success.
That’s is great, appreciate you sharing.
I have a wsm. In my opinion the bigger basket and blower aren't needed. Once it gets dialed in, it's dialed. But these tools are fun to use.
The Arbor Fab has a bar in the middle of the charcol basket making it hard to poure he lite coals into the smaller basket. So i just took a coffee can cut out the bottom and center it in the middle of my charcol basket and poure my lite coals in. It works great.
That’s a cool idea, appreciate you sharing. Thanks for watching.
Great video!!! Always looking for enhancements to my WSM, I also own the 18.5.
Appreciate that, me too I’m always looking for ways to modify it. Thanks again.
Thanks for this video it was great. Not sure if you have seen the Hunsaker Vortex fire basket as that is also an alternative. I like the look of 'The Beast' and will be ordering one! Keep up the good work!
Thanks Farhan appreciate you watching and commenting. I have not seen the Hunsaker Vortex, I would have to check it out. The Beast is no joke its huge, you can get long smoke hours out of it. Thanks again ill be looking up the Hunsaker for sure.
I'd like to see how long the Arbor Fabricating one can go. I like using the water bowl, and don't want to give that up.
Appreciate you watching Stephen. Sure thing it be my pleasure to run a test on it.
I tried with a brisket on my WSM18. It was holding temp after 14 1/2 hours. I finally shut it down because the brisket was done. It might have gone another hour or two if I had stirred the coals and let it go.
Can get a riser if you want to use the giant basket and a water bowl
Wow almost 40 hours on Kingsford blue. If you use the Kingsford long lasting it probably would burn over 50 hours.
yes, I was surprised it went that long. thanks again for watching
Wish we could still buy the beast baskets.
they are for sure heavy duty. Thanks again for watching.
I very nearly ordered the Arborfab basket with the bottom welded in for my WSM 22". I loved the idea of loading it with lump, and then after the cook giving it a good shake and cleaning out the ash that falls through. For right around a hundred bucks it was a bit much but I said what the heck. Then I saw the shipping fee and then I decided it cost more than it was worth to me. I would love the basket but how much is too much?
Thanks Jeff, I appreciate you watching and commenting on my video. Yes they can be expensive. I have the 18 inch WSM so the basket is less expensive. The funny thing about the shipping is I saw that it was kinda of expensive to ship but i went ahead a got it, then later they sent me an email saying they over charged me for the shipping and gave me a refund for the difference. So I don’t know if they just have a flat rate for shipping on their check out and then adjust the price later to what it may actually be, not sure, but good to know. Thanks again.
Why would you want to use the charcoal grate over the after market basket?
nice to see them all side by side, I run lump charcoal 90% of the time and the arbor fab would be a nice upgrade for me
It is a super efficient basket, due to the well place holes in the basket. I absolutely love mine. Don’t forget to use code “jpbbq” for a discount. Thanks again for watching.
I have a WSM 18. Will the arborfab charcoal basket work fine in that with the new deeper waterpan? Or does the bottom sit on the basket handle???
Great question, I really dont remember. I want to say yes but no sure. I quit using the standard water pan and currently using the heat diffuser from www.bbqsmokermods.com but i will put that on the list for videos too do. Thanks
There's about a 1" clearance between the bottom of the deeper water pan and the bar handle atop the Arbor Fab basket.
Cool what's the big Smoker in the background next to the fence ?
that's is my Lone Star Grill, check em out here www.lonestargrillz.com
Thanks 👍
Thanks for the info, but i notice no Hunsaket basket, do you have a vids on that one or what are your thoughts.
I will be watching you from now on
Thanks again
Don’t have one of those, but they look cool.
@@JPBBQ , is Greg still making naked baskets?
No mention of prices??
What are the dimensions of the arbor fab basket
Appreciate you asking. I believe they have all three sizes. they have for the 14, 18 and 22 in WSM. check em out here www.arborfab.com/grillcookeraccessories
I’m a welder I’m just trying to replicated that’s why was asking for the dimensions
thats cool, no worries. not sure what the dimensions are off the top of my head. I did do a video a while back doing a comparison with 4 different baskets. I may have the dimensions on that video. check it out ua-cam.com/video/yjHpt8hTeLA/v-deo.html
Hey where can i get this basket ?
the stainless steel I got from arborfab.com and the other two I got from Gregg check out his channel ua-cam.com/channels/TqNttYqqU3_npkEmPYXAQg.html
