      Welcome to Joe's BBQ House. Nice to see ya here.. It's a great idea if your looking to expand a wsm or a kettle.. 65 lbs of meat in one cook is awesome for a wsm.. or 30 whole wings and 14 chix legs on the kettle. Thanks for stopping by and commenting..

    Hey Brother! This is my kind of Video! You showed what is possible with a little imagination and the Weber and Cajun Bandit products. Once I started fitting and putting pieces together.....it was endless. And I think you will be exploring even more combinations in the future. Your stack rack idea is awesome for utilizing all of that space in the WSM!
    And that was a cool idea for the hanging rods. You've shown why the WSM is a better option than the PBC. If the holes are ever a problem for you......I recommend aluminum furnace tape. Well........I can't wait to see all of these set up options used in your upcoming Vids. Thanks for the mention.....keep up the great work.... and Metal On! \m/

      Thank you Ken and you're welcome.. I'm definitely having fun with it.. I was just using that aluminum furnace tape the other day when I had to change out my hot water heater. lol that's a great idea..! I'm going to buy one of those magnet strips or a magnet key holder and place the allen key so it's on the wsm when needed. Thx for the idea

    Brilliant demonstration of the WSM's versatility, gave me a few ideas, thank you. I own a WSM and a kettle, the kettle is more or less redundant now, well, apart from it's lid which as shown in this video is required to achieve some of the setups. Another tip I would add is the only fire Rotisserie and pizza attachment which I originally bought for my kettle fits on the bottom section of the WSM, pop a kettle lid on top and you have yourself a mini pizza oven or Rotisserie works perfectly.

    those hinges on the lid are going to eventually put too much stress on the components they're attached to and they will become deformed. Just because someone made those hinges doesn't mean it's a brilliant idea to attach them onto a Weber grill. When it comes to grilling and smoking it's more about the outcome of the food being prepared, not the gadgets.

    • @BBQJOE
      @BBQJOE  5 років тому +1

      I agree with you but it's definitely a nice option for the wsm 22.. I have the hinge option for the kettle but never installed it. I also never heard of anybody having issues with the hinge on there Weber kettle or wsm with warping. I'll have to do my homework on that. Thanks for watching.

    I love the mods you've done to your WSM. I've seen the casters and the steel door mods before but I had no idea you could squeeze in 3 racks on the 10" stacker ring, now that's a game changer. I really wish I could run the stacker ring on mine but I installed the lid hinge kit so it wouldn't work with mine unless I removed the hinge kit and filled in the screw holes. I'll have to look into the upgraded temp gauge for the lid, the stock one definitely isn't reliable or accurate that's for sure. I always run meat probes so it's not a huge issue but it would be nice to be able to read the temp at the top. I tried to order some casters for mine straight from Canun Bandits website but I had trouble locating it, all I could find was the whole kit that has the casters but also has brackets to hold the bottom and middle sections together. Don't really have a need for the clamps to hold the sections together as I have a flat slab patio and not much likelihood of the 2 sections coming apart while I roll it. I may just email them and see if I can't just buy the 4 casters without the clamps. Anyways, first time watching your channel and I'm impressed with your knowledge and skills so I hit the subscribe button and looking forward to watching more videos.

    • @BBQJOE
      @BBQJOE  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you for the kind words.. I have to ask.. What hinge kit did you buy..? I bought mine from Unknown BBQ years ago and all I have to do is remove the pin which will separate the lid without unbolting anything.. That's how I use the Cajun Bandit stacker on my wsm and my kettle.. I also use the stacker with the rotisserie ring with no issues at all..

    • @crimsontide1980
      @crimsontide1980 3 роки тому +1

      @@BBQJOE I purchased the hinge kit from Cajun Bandit but I'm really glad you said something.......now that you mention it, I do recall there being a cotter pin in the hinge. No idea why I didn't think of that lol but I'm almost 100% certain it does contain a pin. Thats awesome news.....looks like I can pick up a stacker ring after all.

    Hey bbq Joe, just subscribed to your bbq channel. I’m doing my homework and research on the WSM and have seen few of your vids and damn, like the way you did the multiple add on grate mods. That was exactly why I’m looking into the WSM. Could you do a vid where you max out the cooking capacity by smoking out as many briskets as you can fit in your WSM with the bandit ring? Thanks and rock on. Your videos are very helpful and informative.

    • @BBQJOE
      @BBQJOE  2 роки тому +1

      Sorry for the late response but I would say a max of 3 briskets on a hot summer day due to all the fat drippings and moister in the pit.. The whole briskets I get are pretty large and would have to remove some racks to make them fit.. But I'm very sure you can fill the racks with flats with no issues.. Thanks for joining us..!

    Joe all the innovations are great. I'm curios why one would make the hanging rack when you could get gateway hanging rack and it would be inside of lid. I like the wsm midsection on kettle if you shortened legs you could have wsm easy clean out model. What made you come up with that many stacks, you almost need an army to accomadate the output of that cooker with that capacity.
    👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

    • @BBQJOE
      @BBQJOE  5 років тому +1

      Thank you John.. When I started with the top dual rack mod for the wsm before my UA-cam channel, I started brain storming from there. I cook for a lot of people at times and needed to find a way to make that happen. The hanging system mod cost me as much to buy a Gateway hanging rack but I'll be able to hang more meat at one time using 3 rods. And I thought it was a cool idea to mod the Cajun Bandit rotisserie ring to hang meat plus still be able to use it on the Weber kettle. I've use the mid section on the kettle a few time and works really well but I use the Smokey Cajun Bandit more due to it's lower profile. Thank for watching and appreciate the support.

    you basically recreated the weber premium mastertouch they are selling in Europe with the hinge, smoke ring and a defuser lol.

    • @BBQJOE

      Sweet.. Had now idea lol.. It has dual racks and a 1/4" steel plate defuser..? I doubt it but all is good. Thanks for watching..

    • @EqualsDeath

      @@BBQJOE no no, It has the hinge, the smoke ring and a steel plate defuser, not sure about the thickness but it's heavy. it also has their best grate, a heavy stainless steel one that NEVER rusts.. the smoke ring+ defuser setup I never used actually, I need to try!.. see the review here, it's in Italian but there are photos. sweet. maybe they stole your idea :P www.passionebbq.it/weber-master-touch-premium-5770-gbs-recensione/
      I've always though that the distance between the coals, the defuser and the grate was way too small and I was always scared it would burn my food, AND there is no easy way to add wood or charcoal . they basically created a budget WSM .. like, want a kettle but also a better way to smoke? here's a kettle premium

    • @BBQJOE
      @BBQJOE  4 роки тому

      Wow that thing is actually pretty nice.. I wonder if they'll release this model to the states.. Thanks for the info..

    • @EqualsDeath
      @EqualsDeath 4 роки тому +1

      @@BBQJOE could be, but given the WSM popularity maybe they don't want to cannibalize the sales. do you think the plate diffuser right on top of the coals and the vicinity of the cooking grate could be a problem? if I put a water pan right on top of the defuser will it evaporate quickly? don't want to burn my next meal :D the only nice thing abut this setup is the real estate you gain by having basically the whole grate for indirect

    • @BBQJOE
      @BBQJOE  4 роки тому

      You can fit a water pan on top of the diffuser but it's really not necessary.. The meat alone will provide plenty of moisture for you. I love this setup..

    I've seen added vents by the charcoal also (bottom), which is more effective or use case for each? Thanks in advance for sharing all the BBQ iq.
    One other question, are the hinges the same with the exception of the spread? Same weight capacity (Smoker vs Kettle version)?

    • @BBQJOE
      @BBQJOE  3 роки тому +1

      Adding vents to the bottom would help but haven't tried it cause the extra vent up top works perfect for me. Also yes the hinges are different. One is wider than the other.. Thanks..

    Joe, would u say it would be possible to put a hinge on the stacker ring so the lid could be opened with out tipping the ring over with it. In other words, would the lid be to heavy when it is opened for the stacker ring kit to stay in place.

    • @BBQJOE
      @BBQJOE  4 роки тому

      I don't recommend it cause yes the lid is to heavy.. I have thought about installing clamps to secure the ring for a hinge mod. Thanks for stopping by.

    What low profile items would you place into the multi-tiered section of your grates?
    They’re placed together so narrowly, it seems challenging to insert chicken wings & other low profile items between each narrow layer.

    • @BBQJOE

      It's all adjustable but I usually cook spatchcock chicken, chix legs, pork candy bite and cold smoke cheese. It's not to bad reaching in with tongs to rotate.
