Excellent arrangement The soft clarinets and accordion really add to the " cleanliness" of Flipside and the funky bass adds to the "dirtiness" of Flopside Well done
@@cowboyluigi5275 youd be surprised most of the music on the disk is half quality technically, the songs are stored in 44.1khz, which is standard hq, but theyre 2x the speed they should be, which means that when theyre played back in game, that quality gets cut in half why did they do that? idk a few of the game's tracks (the mr L tracks to be precise) have been released in actual hq in the year of luigi sound collection, and the difference is definitely palpable
I remember when I was a kid and I would get so excited when I unlocked Peach, Bowser, and finally Luigi. I got the game for my birthday and didn’t know a thing about it. After struggling through that blasted mansion with Mimi ,gripping through the two 100 level dungeons to get the speed pixl and infinite 3D power, and piling up 9999 coins to get your partner back as a robot. I really miss this game. Thanks for making this!
This is one of those rare remixes that I think are better than the original. It just feels like an upgrade while remaining 100% true to the same aesthetic and integrity as the original piece. It's not going for a completely different style...yet the additions only make it feel more alive. It also helps you brought the sound quality itself up. The Flopside remix was just brilliant too. So quirky and bouncy. Love it!! Keep it up good sir.
I LITERALLY just remembered Super Paper Mario and went to go hear the Flipside music. An hour later, Scruffy uploads a version of his own! Neat coincidence!
Ohhhh, the ticking clock at the end. Honestly the thumbnail by itself made me cry of joy and nostalgia, it's been a hot minute since I was able to play Super Paper Mario and it surely is one of my favorite games of all time! Thank you so much, Scruffy ✨
I'd go as far as to say, as someone who has played the games since the early 2000s and followed the discourse for many years, that SPM is widely regarded as a flawed gem , closer in quality to the original two games than the awful sequels.
THIS SONG IS SO GOOD. I did not expect a Super Paper Mario arrangement, of all Mario games to do, but I'm not complaining. This game is legendary and underrated. Your mixture of live instruments and the iconic synth sounds from the game are PERFECT. Bravo.
Ah, hearing this brings back a lot of memories. The inclusion of Flopside and the subtle detail of the clock ticking from Memory at the end makes it clear a lot of care was put into this. Great arrangement as always, Scruffy!
I’m transported back, 11 years ago, my brother and I playing not stop for 3 days to finish this heartfelt game. We were so captivated. Thanks for this wonderful arrangement, it’s what I love.
this is absolutely brilliant! and gah, the memories! this game absolutely made my childhood. my parents still call stopping points in games "save blocks" sometimes :P
Love the swing and solos in flopside’s theme! It helps emphasize its own identity from flipside. Super Paper Mario is one of my favorite games, thank you for this incredible arrangement!
I noticed that in the Flopside section, the title in the video actually changes to Flopside, good detail. And, those ticking clock hands at the end... I love them. They are really characteristic of this game, I hope more games use them in their soundtracks. Also, well done not putting your "outro bongos" at the end here. They really bring up the atmosphere after the clock ticks.
wow your recreation is spot on (like always)! I never understand how it's even possible to get so close and get such clean mixes at the same time. you're incredibly talented!
SPM is a fantastic game and my personal favorite in the PM series. I think it doesn't get as much love as the other PM games because it breaks the formula in a lot of ways, but it's still a rockstar game in every other respect.
@@Michael-su7ip i can agree in that, but i wonder if they ever gonna use this concept every again in another paper mario game, and the plot of very odd to remember since i played it as a child
@@thegreenrobby7402 definitely can agree with that, but also isn’t this the most 50/50 game in the series to most people? Personally i love playing it even if i don’t remember much of the plot!
Loved the game. Great music and amazing story. I grew up playing this game, and I think this is one of the games that sort of contributed to my mindset where I value an rpg's story over its gameplay.
GOD, this brings back a lot of memories from when I was little! My brother and I have spent hours playing this game, and although we still haven't beaten the game, we're amazingly close to finishing it. This was the little push I needed to beating Super Paper Mario once and for all! Thanks for the feels, Scruffy!
This is one of those games that reminds me of how fun a Mario game can be. The idea was completely new, as opposed to doing another paper Mario RPG. I also remember the satire in this game is fantastic. The game knows when to be funny and serious. Great game. I might be biased because it’s the first game I ever played, but replaying it again recently, I can’t help but be happy.
I'd *LOVE* to see fans make an upgraded, optimized version of this classic banger of a game, honestly. Biggest issue would of course be Nintendo Corporate circling overhead of fangames like vultures. But god, would it be incredible...
Dang Scruffy, right in the feels, huh? After something like 10 years or so, I finally finished Super Paper Mario last year... Absolutely one of my favorite games of all times. Thanks so much for yet another amazing arrangement!!
So fantastic. Just impeccable music. The little reference to Memory is the icing on the cake, and an already delicious cake at that. Memory was my favorite tune in the game, it'd bring me to tears as a kid, not sure why. So even just doing such a service to that lovely track is enough for me. Really outdid yourself in so many ways, and made me appreciate Flipside that much more. Thank you.
