There aren't words for how much this helped me. This channel in general has got me liking golf again, and has got me back on the course a lot more often. I find myself watching these videos an hour before we head out just for a refresher. In the end I swear less now so in a way you're making the world a better place! Thanks again.
You guys have straightened out and added 50 yards to my drive, and subtracted 20 shots from my handicap just this season! Can't thank you enough. Now to get to work on those irons!
A full 14 minute video for free?
Great stuff guys, been watching since last May.

Hi mens
Outstanding video lesson! 14 minutes of truly well taught iron fundementals - great job and thanks guys!
Some of the challenges many golfers face is the mental image of bottoming out where you start. Wherever the balls lies between your 2 feet, say 50%, mentally it is difficult to get over NOT trying to reach the bottom of the arch at that 50% point - it's not a natural thought to bottom at greater than 50%.
Something to consider as you work through your 4 part series.
This is gold guys - love it and thanks so much.
+zinc1oxide 50% of the game is 90% mental.
zinc1oxide exactly! I can't find a video (free) on how to overcome that and how to hit it to get the divot in front of the ball?
60% of the time it works every time
Sometimes it helps to realize that the lowest natural point of the arc is directly below your left shoulder, since that is the pivot point, or center of the circle.
zinc1oxide you are *not* bottoming out at more than 50%. You *do* bottom out at 50%, its just that the *ball* is *positioned* slightly behind the 50% mark.
hi guys, as a new person to golf I find that watching your videos really helps me to understand why things do go wrong from time to time.
Glad we are helping Jim.
I've been playing golf for a long time. For whatever reason this year my game and swing have gone to hell so I've decided to go back to basics. I was really impressed with your videos so I'm trying your 30 day trial. So far I'm not disappointed . Great work guys.
long time inconsistent golfer, this video with the back swing club parallel to the club on the ground helped tidied up all the tips I have learned into a nice little check point. Was able to hit my irons 20-30 yards farther and straighter, and more consistent. thanks!
Great lesson guys. And it makes a refreshing change to listen to our British accent. I like white line and the strike tape test. Thank you both.
This channel is incredible. You guys speak so well, and easy to understand. thank you
These lessons are superb - I've taken soo much away from them and the approach and explanation really sticks. Great great work guys!!
Spot on! ... played golf for 28 years never knew there was a difference between setup and impact ...
Hope we are helping David.
Some things never change, just like the quality of your content. Great video guys!
+Gregor Myles Thanks Gregor.
Love these videos! Just golfed a 50 on 9 holes today...I know that’s not great but I’ve only been golfing for about a month now so I’ll take it! These videos have definitely helped me as well
I have been playing for about a year and am not very consistent with my irons. Hitting fat a lot. Just went to the driving range and tried this BTL technique and was hitting much more consistent and taking a divot after the ball just like in the videos. I have never taken a divot after the ball before. Thanks for the help! I am so excited to try this out on the course tomorrow.
Thank you meandmygolf for teaching and giving tips to make our golf shots improve the best as we can do.I hope you make more videos of how to correct the most mistakes what begginers/ amatuers make like me.
Excellent content. Thank you so much. I'll be working on this for sure. One tip, instead of using contact paper on the club face I use a dry erase marker. I've kept one in my bag for a few years now. Wipes off clean and provides the same feedback.
Thank you so much for the free lessons, guys.
+JChills Thanks.

Great tips lads, fast moving, concise and clear presentation. Can't wait to try them and start striking the ball in the middle of the face.
Thanks Gents! Your videos greatly help me to visualize the swing. I went to the range and applied the concepts I learned here, and wow! I kept hearing the other folks at the range saying "nice"
Been following you guys for quite some time now and these videos are just getting better and better! Keep up the good work gents!
+Roman Rambo Thanks Roman. Glad you liked it.
hello misters
This is the most beautiful video I saw Until now
Finally a real video of very specific training
you're great coachs
Just a matter of how deep divot, and which clubs to use I have not heard in the video
thank you very much
Great video lads tried this out this week and my iron play was so much better.
Thank you for your lesson. I already playing golf for 5 year. This tips make me more consistence and automatically correct me from slicing and get more straight shot. And what a wonderful distance that i never achieve before.
These videos are fantastic. Really intuitive to improving your game. It's impossible not to get better watching these. Look forward to the next instalment. Keep up the good work.
+Daniel munden Great Daniel. hope we are helping!
Very informative. Explains exactly what address and impact positions should "feel" like and importantly how they are different. My driver is more GBH than BLT but my irons are improving with this tip.
Can't help thinking if I start painting white lines on my club course I will be summoned to the Committee to explain myself and consequently receive a month's ban.
honestly, i thought it's gonna be another boring long lesson. Bad iron play forces me to try and take a look at the video and I must say this is very helpful! I can't wait for your next parts of the video. I am excited to try the drills in the range this weekend!
You guys are why I started golf and sticking with it. Thanks for your valuable lessons. Cheers!
+Korya Iine Great!! Hope we are helping.
The level of instruction is brilliant, thanks guys.
Great Video Guys!!
New golfer here. Just played my 15th round at a Par 3 course, and I feel as though my swing has improved immensely in that short time. Being that I have had a serious back injury, I have to swing short anyhow due to the constricted movement, but I have found that your tips have come in far handier than the club pro. I'm not quite able to use a Driver, or any wood for that matter due to the injury,, but I have learned to use a 2 iron in their place, and am hitting it quite far when making perfect contact. Still a bit of a draw, and in attempting to correct I have sliced more times than I should admit, yet, I am beginning to feel my swing coming around thanks to your tips.
Again, great video, and I am truly appreciative of your great advice!
I steer my golf buds your way as well!
Keep up the magnificent work, and again, Thank You!
Thanks for the videos. Beginner here I've played one round of 18. And been having a blast going to Driving Range. You channel has helped a lot every time I go out to range its been getting better and better. Other than the Driver and the 3 iron can't hit those clubs I guess just have to keep working at it.
The BTL is so often overlooked. Thx a bunch for this vid.
I perfected my skiing (well, fer ME anywhooo LOL) by watching a Brit on YT and then subscribing to his site. YOU GUYZZZ... whoa.... I'm heading out to the range now, and will come back to your website. As you'd say on your side of the pond: 'Brilliant!'
I have seen almost all of your videos, this one is probably the best. Can't wait to practice this exercise and improve my iron striking. Major goal for this season.
+Tobias Brühl Thanks Tobias. Hope this helps. lease let us know.
Meandmygolf When and where do you release the next episode of this great video series? Only on your website or also on UA-cam?
The people you guys coach personally are lucky!! Nice video well put together and easy to do steps!. Thank you for helping us strike our irons better 👍🏼⛳️🏌
+Ederson garmendia Thanks Ederson. Hope this helps.
Great video I like the circle analogy , circle bottoms out after the ball, now I got in my head right
These videos are unreal. I dropped 9 strokes (from 51 to 42) in a week after watching these videos. sharing with all my friends!
The grip is very important but basically palms should be facing each other more than the common teaching. This is for accuracy and to hold the grip in your fingers, interlocking or overlapping the two fingers that meet on the club (Standard grip just more palms parallel). Do not reach for the ball but bring the ball in close to your stance because the swing path is straight not around your body. The back swing should be one piece take away until the club shaft is parallel to the ground and on target with the ball to the flag. When the club shaft is at your hip the wrist start to hinge all the while keeping the club face open. At the top of the back swing, with the club face open, the club shaft should point at the flag. Now start the swing by shifting your weight to clear your hips and swing the club down with your arms close to your body and the shaft of the club in line with the ball and the flag. swing in a straight line from the ball to the flag this will cause the open faced club head to naturally snap down at the bottom of the swing and most importantly cause a "vortex" at the bottom of the swing as the club face snaps so quickly and with such force the ball has no place to go but straight on the swing path which must be controlled with the reverse "C" follow through (Google it). Must fight to keep the club face open (As you clear your hips) all the way to the side of the ball, at that point the weight of the club head will automatically snap the toe of the club around to the ball. Once a straight and consistent swing path or "plain" is established aiming for the green or even the flag will give way to sighting in on the hole. Anytime the club face is closed and off the swing plain path that is casting and the power of the vortex can easily be lost at the bottom of the swing.
The most difficult part is keeping the club face open then almost as difficult is getting used to standing close to the ball and being able to clear your hips.
This might throw you off but i visualize swinging a sword trying to cut of a cherry stem sicking out of the side of the ball. The trick is to not even think of the club face just let the club do all the difficult part closing and naturally snapping around the club face to the ball.good luck.
Write it down so you do not forget and one day think you thought of it. “Vortex” is mine.
Longest youtube comment I've ever read.
Again. Fantastic & clear instruction. Thanks men.
Great visual aid with the line. Not so easy to use in the driving range, but am using a Tee next to the ball, to mark where it was, and it is a great tool to understand how solid am hitting the irons. Thanks for the information, very useful
I made a couple of adjustments based on the video.loved the immediate improvement.
Thanks Guys.
+Mersad Hoorfar Brilliant Mersad! Glad this helped.
Great production value lads! You guys are quickly turning into the premier golf channel here on youtube. All the best!
+Andrew Leitch Thanks Andrew. We hope we can continue to help.
Excellent excellent. Can't wait for Parts 2 3 4
Your best video yet lads, it's so easy to get myself out of sequence. You've fixed it in one hit.... Thanks 😆⛳😆⛳
+Steve Parkes Thanks Steve!
Thanks guys for the awesome lessons. Oh and the matching outfits are a nice touch as well:)
Great video lads already see a difference with my irons ball flight I also adjusted my shoulders in the backswing so now the club is not as steep it made a big difference to my striking especially with fairway woods
Ive played this course a few times. Staff isn't the best when it comes to treatment of players but the course itself is always in great condition!
Orlando!!!! My hometown! Love these videos. Thanks guys!
excellent simple instruction cannot wait to try it.
Great lesson guys, I'm looking forward to practice tomorrow and the next 3, thanks.
I took these tips to the range today and was hitting so much better. Thanks guys. Found your channel a week ago and have been binging literally hundreds of videos. Such great content. Out of interest, if you could play any course in the world, what would it be?
Some of the best instruction on youtube
I spent most of the last summer practicing the BTL and videoing it. It pays off this year as I can shoot high 70 now.
Excellent ... you guys are very good ... intuitive (take nothing for granted)
Well presented!
How about a total series (1-N) complete set of instruction over x weeks ...
Hope your both well. I love doing this white line drill instant feedback, I will be adding BTL into it next time I am on the range... Great video lads keep up the good work...
+Tony Atkinson Hi Tony. It really is one of the best! Hope all is well. Speak soon.
Tq guys , great lesson . Really like the BTL .
This is amazing thank you so much for making videos like this that are free! I'm sharing this with all my friends! Keep up the amazing videos guys I really appreciate them :)
+Chip Miller Thanks Chip. Hope we are helping and thanks for the support.
Andy and Piers I have watched this video umpteen number of times to try and cover each detail. I've also shown this video to so many people. Its really very clear and precise. However, I am still struggling to get my ball in the centre of the club. I think it has something to do with not understanding just how far to stand away from the ball
I can’t believe you guys aren’t charging for this! Thank you!
Just what i need for my game, cant wait to get out and try these tips, many thanks.
+Peter Dovey Hope ti helps.
That was fantastic stuff guys, really bringing it back to the basics. Great stuff, keep it up :)
Your best video ever and the like ratings say a lot. Very well made videos guys!
+Xander PH Thanks a lot. We put some time and thought in to this so we are glad you enjoyed it.
Very useful. Two thumbs up for you guys.
Great educational video boys. Gonna be practicing this on the range tomorrow,
+John Costello Thanks John. Let us know how you get on.
Great content an tips. Will put these to the test sunday on the Course.
Been playing for several years now but this is definitely one of the most frustrating weaknesses of my game..just general lack of consistency with my irons. I often hit a great tee shot down the fairway and then screw up any chance at birdie by missing the green completely from 150 yards or closer. If I could improve my GIR, I could definitely take more than a few shots off my game. I appreciate the tips to try next time at the range!
+Eric Winkel I'm in the same boat. I hit my tee shots great, especially 3-wood with which I can hit wayyyy more fairways than other golfers of the same handicap. Yet I miss 110-150 yard GIR regularly and cause a fantastic tee shot to turn into a bogey or worse.
Anyways, great video Andy and Piers. Thanks!
+Sky View Trading Basically, you may need to find out if you just short of the green or something else (e.g. slicing or hook).
Thank you so much! I've been needing this for a while!
+The B.I.G Great. Hope it helps.
You guys are awesome. Thanks for the free content. Keep up the great work.
great video guys . really helped my game
Thanks! Great vid but not sure I could get away with the white line stuff at my local golf course
Great drills lads, keep good up the good work.
Thanks for this video. Excellent teaching methodology. I really like the partial swing shots drill.
Regards Luke
+Luke Daniel Borel Thanks Luke.
Wow good series! Can't wait to see part 2
Part 2 is on our website Thomas. Check it out and let us know what you think?
Brilliant video lads. Helped my iron contact points so much - Damian from london.
Great Damien.
These videos have helped me a lot
Thank you guys, much appreciated
Thanks Piers and Andy another gr8 video btw
+Stephen Wright Thanks Stephen!!
Fantastic video. I can't wait to get out and try some of these techniques out.
Great tips, Going out to try them today
Absolutely love your videos. Any chance you'll be in the Toronto Canada area anytime? I'd love a face to face lesson. You both have really helped me but I still struggle remembering everything. A hands on lesson would be awesome.
Thanks so much guys, am sure this drill will help me as my bad shot is a fat
Great teaching guys.
Thanks guy for free lesson.
Thanks a lot for all lessons...so clear
+hd74250 Great!
Last time I tried to take a divot, my club got stuck in the ground and I got electricity shot up my arm. Unpleasant feeling. Excellent video! I shall try it again.
Oh wow! They actually brought out the real paint this time!
+Benoit St-Pierre Ha ha. Of course:)
Thank you for this lessons. Cheers Guys.
+Jerome Gandois No problem
Great video guys! Good content. Great lesson.
+Daniel Hensley Thanks Daniel. Glad you enjoyed it.
I applied your tips and today I shot my first even par 9 holes !
Great lesson Guys
When will you be bringing out the further parts lads? loving the videos!
this is a top series of videos. One question - I see spine lean away from target at impact, but should the setup have a vertical spine or have the same spine lean away from target?
Can't Thank you enough! Love you guys!
Great video again thank you 😃
You guys are great, I so need you to fix my golf swing, I would play every day if I didnt get so frustrated over mis hitting and slicing the golf ball.
take a look at our video series "turn your slice in to a draw". This will really help.
Thank you guys
So great, thanks for all the things to work on. Are the other parts only for members?
I'm going to need Part 2...soon!
+Tony Ngo Part 2, 3 and 4 are on our website.
exactly what my coachers teach me I like this
Could you do a modified version of the white line drill for a mat? I don't have the luxury of grass to practice on. I use sound at the moment to work out if I hit it fat. Would be good if you could have a visual as well! Maybe masking tape?
I am in the same situation. I would imagine that foot spray on the mat will give you exactly the same result
Or talcum powder would probably work too. I will give a try.
+Thomas Whitehead Just some whits chalk works very well if you can't use grass.
i use baking soda on my mat. cheap and works great.
Shaving foam maybe?
