    i use this in the automotive collision field and it works amazing! a little tip for people who dont know, if you stick this can in a fridge you can get a week out of it. just be sure to let the can come back up to temp otherwise you will clog the tip

      You will risk that the hardener will be degraded because of the low temperature.
      The supplier we have does not want any customers to put the 2k products in their fridge as ut will not be as effective anymore. The 2k will not function as it should.
      Just want to throw that in as well.

    I think for the price it is a great deal and having a 24 hour pot life makes it even more valuable. Thanks for the heads up, I know I can use this for sure and ordering 6 cans today...;)

    I painted cars for a living for over 25 years and some big advantages to 2K primers is better adhesion, little to no shrinkage and the harder surface of the primer helps prevent die back of your topcoats especially over time, they also have the same thing in a clear coat, if applied correctly you can produce some excellent results from a spray can.

    Absolutely! Huge fan of the spray Max 2k, it hardly needs wet sanding and buffing afterwards as well! Very minimal orange Peel if any , but if you get a bum can which I have back in 2021 it will have a Tad orange Peel, but that was with the old tip design

    Eastwood has 2k clear and primer that isn't single use.
    From 1 can can be used multiple times even weeks apart with less waste.

      It’s probably like Rust oleum. They put the words 2K on the bottle but it’s not an epoxy primer.

    i couldn't get the red topper thing to stay in the bottom so I just held it there for a quick test project. Hope that still did the trick. Feel like I wasted a can, though, it wasn't a huge project and I was just testing the epoxy primer. I had 3680032 which says it's an epoxy primer right in the title.

    Very helpful Human Factors on the spray pattern width adjustability! Few UA-camrs understand this element in content creation and less actually include closeup, stills, and voice over that are technically helpful! Very well done! Thank You Eric, I'm now Subscribed!

    What good timing, I have a project on the go right now that could use this. Unfortunately I couldn't find anything remotely like this at my local hardware store, so I ended up using wood filler. Going to keep an eye out for this in the future though.

    Im thinking of using the 2k beige epoxy primer to do a set of wheels for a red suv (winter wheels). Do you think the dept in the primer pigment is good enough to clearcoat it directly? I kind of love these basic primer colors, sage green, light grey, beige. Reminds me of vintage wheels.

    Nice video. Eric. Thanks! If you happen you know: When I read about other 2k Epoxy Primers they will often state that one can then paint a regular 2K primer or top coat directly over the epoxy primer without the need to sand or scuff up the epoxy first if this is done within 24 hours. Is this still true with this epoxy primer? You seemed pretty sure about the need to sand it first. Thanks again.

    Got 2 questions.
    1- Is it any big deal keeping the mixed rattle can after filling in with the accelerator (or whatever is it inside the red cap) ? Is there any expiration date?
    2- How are the results with FDM printed parts where sanding is a big pain in the ass due to the small size or details of the printed object? I'm looking for a solution to cover the printing lines of the figures I print in my Ender 3 v2 printer.

    • @EricStrebel
      @EricStrebel  2 роки тому

      Expiration on the can and supposed to be used within 24-48 hrs once opened. Primer won't change or fix any scale issues.

    • @terrythomas790
      @terrythomas790 Рік тому +1

      ITS a big deal! Its hardener in there that gets mixed with the primer, Once its mixed, it starts to harden ,even inside, but slower. after 24hrs if activated, it wont spray.

      @@SpaceLint No problem . I just tried out one of these 2k epoxy cans, and not to thrilled with them. No comparison to using an actual gun , where you can control the fluid, and the pressure, to get a smooth wet coat of primer, without being in a heavy cloud. lol. The can sprays so hard the theres a ton of paint fog in the air (too much pressure), and the finish kind of sucked, even if it is just a primer.
      I just had a small thing to spray so instead of mixing up a batch of primer, and dealing with the pia cleaning of the gun,. I gave this can a try. I wouldn't recommend it for anything other than a small job
