Palou is still in the lead but the battle in the first few corner is extraordinary for these 3 open wheel cars While F2 is dropping behind but Lawson trying to catching the DHL. Here comes the hairpin and OOOOHHHHHHHH almost touching the wheel Great use of drafting from F2. Onto the straights to 130R. F2 try to side by side but nope it didn't have a power yet. Through the chicane before the start finish line. Now with Liam Lawson (Onto onboard camera) Lap 2 Seems to catch up and WENT WIDE!! Now Antonelli is threatening Lawson from behind Lawson chose the wide line and HE HAVING A BALL TO DO IT SIDE BY SIDE. AND YES!! LAWSON TAKES THE LEAD FROM PALOU!! What an impressive move from Lawson Now here's from Kimi Antonelli after the hairpin and now chasing the indycar trying to find the chance to get the 2nd position AND OF COURSE HE TAKE THE INSIDE!! WHAT A GREAT MOVE FROM THE PREMA TEAM Lawson is cruising to his victory with a huge gap from F2 Kimi Antonelli as they fight from the back and he takes the flag first!
I believe the Superformula cars pace, but the f2 car. Idk, i dont think that the indycar was 15secounds of the pace of an f1 car in austin, but wait i look So the gap between f2 and f1 is around 15 secound, ollies pole time was 14s slower than his first flying lap in an f1 car, ofc than when he gets up to speed depends on the track i would say 14-17s The indycar gap in austin was 18s so i think thouse 2 would be close but its interessting to see that even a modern f2 car who is as far as i know the slowest of the last 2 generations is a little bit faster than an indycar, if you ignore ovals because i think on ovals the gap between indycar and f2 would be the same only that f2 would be replaced with f1 cars. Speedways are the Home of indycars so i doubt that an f1 car would beat them there, but everywhere else 100%. Superformula is in suzuka if im not blind and remember correctly 5s off pace of the track record from an f1 car. So superformula is actually on its way to be the fastest racing series of the world from 2026 forwards, because ofc f1 will have a time loss of 6-10s like every couple of years 2014, in 2005 in the 90s etc. Ofc over time the cars get faster again and towards the end of a rule set we brake records again, even tho this time its not a rule change where we get a lil slower but get the time back, this time its the "we make the cars slower like every decade" rule change so we probably need to wait untill the fia makes the cars faster again to have records broken, but i dont doubt that the 2026 car generation could fight for the fastest racing series in the world titel towards the end of its lifespawn because f1 teams gonna be f1 teams and make car go fast. Its interessting, i think a lot about ranking racing series in my free time, idk why, from gt to f3 etc, from modern to old. I mean look at macou, gt3s and bike race there but the track record has an f3 car, that was surprising. But it gets really confusing if you go to deep in the thing, specially if you think like okay normal tracks, than whats with the ovals, oh and Rally exists how is there. How was it in the past, it gets confusing for me

Internationally we would still be the fastest racing series, even if superformula cars could be faster, but they only race in japan, the other thing is ppl are obsessed with for example sennas lap in monaco, and that car was compared to now really slow. Plus thw cars get smaller and lighter so on the tv you probably wouldnt even recognize it, specially because motorsport in generell has a Problem with sence of speed. You look at the australian gp on the tv and it looks like an f1 race, you see that shot after the 3rd drs zone the left and right from the Sidelines and it blows your mind. I think the only difference will be the Numbers of laptimes and speed, and zhat the cars are probably more challanging to drive, so im not really that mad ofc i love to see them go extremely fast but if you look at indycar in portland for example, they look mindblowingly fast even tho they are way of pace of an f1 car. But ofc i understand if ppl be upset because they want f1 to be the fastest series overall. And thats fine, everyone has there reasons and opinions. But i guess thats that time of f1 we heading now but i doubt that it stays like this forever

The caveat is that the Indy car at Indianapolis, in oval trim, is faster than all of these and an F1 car. I also wonder how these three would have fared at Monza. Neat video.
It's funny because Indy, F2, Super Formula chassis are made by The same manufacturer (Dallara)
Dallara is one of the most popular chassis producers. The most funny thing is that the chassis is mostly unified between 3.
