Guys, to be frank it won’t be exciting now. When I did the trip there were hardly any charging stations and people were really interested to know. Over this 2 years so many stations came and Zeon did a wonderful work in covering many routes. Now everyone can travel easily.
See the Guy was smart when he was telling the cost of per unit cost... he said petrol per km cost 8 rs.. while for EV he said it will be 3 rs..so for 300 kms coverage in this car the units needed would be 50 ..which comes to 900.. per unit cost is 18 rs... So Mr @birlasparvai...pls ask the guy to tell the exact cost as not many will listen .. i have seen this bad experience for my brother as when he charged in public place he was charged 28 rs per unit consumed... this would help ppl take better decision
Still we are very lagging in down south Areas ... Like Ramnad , Sivagangai District No charging station are available. FROM Madurai to Rameswaram Very Rare station Areas ...
Excellent. As a EV car owner, all the doubts I get were clarified by Zeon Promoter. Thank you Mr Birla. You have been doing great job for both ICE and EV car owners. Hats off.
A video which i watched start to end without any scroll / fast forward. Reality explained in a nice fashion. Firms up the ev buying decision! Appreciate the initiative and the time @birlasparvai
Amazing content. Good to see early business adopters from South. Who would have thought we will all be tied to a smartphone 10 years ago. Same way EV will boom in very short span.
Zeon should provide AC charging (if DC fast charge not possible) on chargeable basis in their all existing stations, just a16A socket and software configuration that won't take much cost involved. @Birla sir you can suggest them personally. it will very helpful all 2 & 3 Wheeler EV users.
Very useful and clear cut interview !! Karthik and Birla Kudos and you both discussed very well about the EV India , South India and charging stations, its more informative. Karthik have a clear vision !!
Very informative. EV makers should give range with 95% accuracy. There's no use in saying test condition etc etc. What's the use. They must have guts to admit the actuals..
Even mobile phone batteries also get damage if charge in high watt chargers... For emergency purpose its ok but in daily use it definitely get decrease the battery life
This interview was very informative. I feel you have got many of our doubts cleared. In fact I was so anxious about the EV charging infrastructure in Tamilnadu. Now I am confident and my next car will definitely be an EV only.
Currently EV cars in long distance is just adventure. What if some other EV vehicle is charging on your planned route station ? someone will wait 40mins ? or more than 2-3 cars which is more likely on weekends and popular routes? or someone unplugs the charger gun ? Unless range increases EV is just city 2nd car option.
Takeaways: 1)bunk la petrol poda 15mins agumam. 2)petrol cars cost 10rs per km in highways 3)Veetla EB bill unit just5rs per unit 4)fast charging just 2.5rs per km whereas Mr.birla showed 1800rs for 560km without including origin point charging in the previous video. 5)batteries outlast car. (Why Mobile and laptop does otherwise?!) 6)only 20% range will drop from arai figure if you drive PROPERLY. Two videos sponsored by zeon?!
Nice content very good explanation of Ev vehicle about charging. In up-coming Days electricity charges will become high at time 1km=20rs to 25 rs (Approximately) power plants generated power less then people consumption already we have power shortage. That reason traffic will be high compared to petrol or disel For example : In 1993 at we having considerable level petrol vehicle and diesel vehicles at time petrol rate is 8 rs at time 1 km =1 rs So consider to puruchased petrol or diesel vehicles compare to Ev segment community it is zero pollution vehicle . Every vehicle is pollution society
I'm not sure, if car manufacturer recommended to do a fast charging, then it's fine. If not, we should avoid.... This will decrease the battery pack life and affect it's performance as well. Every car will be produced with so much rigorous testing and validation. Hence we should follow the same safety protocol defined by OEM. I'm not sure BMS will get affected by doing fast charging or not.
Excellent video...I'm working for EV cars and always have this doubt, how our India is doing in terms of charging stations. This video explained many of my questions. Thanks for bringing the right person from the appropriate field. Please keep up your good work as always.

Explaination is good. Still electric cars only for elite people. To use it more practical it has so many hurdles... 1) Still many car owners not having proper parking Space particulaly in big cities. How people in apartment wilk charge this car 2) Unlike IC engines cannot make unplanned trips with electric car. Electric cars are practically good only for people travel in limited planned route. 3) In future for sure electricity commercial charges would be increased like commercial LPG.... Dont remember still we are getting subsidised electricity to our home. 4) Even in developed conutries in busy main streets there will be reserved charging station with maximum for 3-4 cars, but in the same Street 100 of IC engine cars parked. 5) For sure electric cars can only feed 15-20 travel needs. Remaining 80% would be ful filled. 6) still Electric car technology and charging are costly and time consuming business. Untill all the problem solved... A big salute to electric.
Government of India should have lots of charging infrastructure through out country for 35km once a charging stations should b made made in public private partnerships through good management systems to global management systems
Good interview with useful points but as an engineer + auto enthusiastic + investor mindset, our eco system especially from center & state government's are not friendly including FEMA rules across states.
Such an excellent Interview Sirs…👏👏🤝. By the time battery life is about to expire ie after 8 years from now, if EV has been purchased now, battery prices will be (hopefully) around some Rs.2-3 lakhs & might not be around 8 lakhs as of now.
@Abishek you said battery life expire ie after 8 years but in this business moto they can made battery as soon expire 5 year then without battery we can move, so need to buy batteries...it a business strategy bro

you have to also factor in shell life of EV vehicle battery to calculate per Km cost. if the replacement cost of EV is factored in with inflation adjusted, the cost would be the same as ICE. Also per unit cost calculation would not be the same if someone is consuming more than 500 units. If you think on a short term perspective, EV looks efficient. But on a long term basis, ICE would be cost effective even after adjusting for inflation for fuel cost rise /per unit electricity cost rise

Good review sir.. If battery price comes down to 1 lakh then Everyone will buy EV car..Till then..EV will be bought mostly by Urban population for city use mostly..That's my opinion sir
Even petrol pumps should be used for charging government of India modi sab government should make it easier and fasterly make it nationalized infrastructure through out nation's state government's should also do it in thier methods through out state's as our country shall go EV very very faster and easier earlier
Govt must encourage ev charging station, is implemented every oil marketing co.,future is ev policy of govt is implement within 2030 compulsory ice to ev, but affect opec will have to face.
Imagine we all move to EV in some time and how many charging stations we would require and infrastructure? There will be queue for charging and every vehicle will take how much time to charge? Even after changing to fast tag still the toll gate is a mess. Not sure how this will end.
Discussion happening only positive things. But lot of negative scenarios needs to be discussed. EV vehicles are almost failure in Indian markets. 1. E-bikes have very low resale value. 2. Most of the E scooters are catching fire. 3. Charging time is high 4. Temperature Affects EV. If these issues are fixed we can consider EV.
Useless people, 3 chargers of zeon were not working in Mysore. It took 3.5 hrs to charge 100 persent. I stayed in Mysore,. Next morning I left toBangalore. I will advice friends to depend on home charger than onroad chargers, it's really costly. I paid 650 for charging with zeon

Diesel car give 20km/litre so its 5 RS, I can go without any worries and used diesel car price like beat is 2lakh. This EV is minimum 10lakh, interests and km cost 3-4/km is utter waste to buy an EV.
That was me, who travelled from Bangalore to Kanyakumari. Nice memories. Zeon was the only charger till Coimbatore at that time. But still I made it.

Karthik sir, hats of to you... Your effort will definitely success.
Even mobile phone batteries also get damage if charge in high watt chargers... For emergency purpose its ok but in daily use it definitely get decrease the battery life
The battery is cheap for mobile phones, using the mobile for 2-3 years and exchange it to get a new phone is good deal but how is it feasible for EV's
Best strategy would be tying up with all the Restaurent and Dhabas on the highways
