Enna poruthavarikkum Petrol and diesel powered car's'ku replacement EV kedayave kedayaathu it's just an alternate because complete'a EV'ku shift aana idhu indirect'a ippo irukkara fossil powered vehicles emit pannura C02 vida innum higher levels'ku C02 emit aagum atmosphere'ku.
Ippo EV vehicle sales jaasti aachu'na Power production kooda jaasti pannanum. Throughout the world power production'ku naama mainly depend aagradhu vandhu Thermal power station.
So in india for 100% naama 52% coal powered Thermal power plants mela dhaan depend aagurom electricity'ku rest

Suppose ippo power demand jaasti aachu'na naama innum neraya coal burn panni Thermal power station's maximum extent'ku use pannuvom for electricity purpose appo idhu innum higher level C02 atmosphere'ku emit aagum. So coal powered plant use decrease pannanum'na naama innum neraya solar, wind, hydro, nuclear powered power plant jaasti construct pannanum. india'oda road map - 2070 kulla complete'a coal powered plant's dependency irukkadha'nu solluranga but it's highly impossible.
And next innoru major drawback for completely shifting towards EV vandhu batteries - Namma ippo use pannura battery technology vandhu Lithium ion batteries so indha batteries dhaan Namma smartphone, laptops, car's ellathukkume use pannurom
So intha battery manufacture pannaradhukku main'a lithium, Nickel and cobalt venum so itha earth'la irundhu extract pannum podhu oru toxic gas atmosphere'ku emit aagum ithu C02 vida romba mosamana gases.
And ippo varikkum Namma kitta intha used batteries recycle panna entha technology kooda illa already use aana mobile and laptop batteries romba pollute pannudhu earth'a
So In my opinion fossil powered vehicles norms innum BS7, BS8 indha maari shift aana innum lower CO2 emmit pannum.

Along with running coat we need to include
    1) the cost of battery replacement
    2) interest for the additional 5 lakhs spent on EV vehicle.
    3) The petroleum prices are in increasing trend, instead of assuming 102 for all 5 years, we can consider 10-15% increase every year

Really this is an unbiased video.. I have Innova (Diesel) and have Solar Panels installed all over roof useful for DC fast charging the EV car. The running cost of EV car will be much much cheaper than my RoyalEnfield (even when NOT considering charging via solar panels). But still, I will wait for 3 to 4 years for development of better Charging infrastructure.
Only one small mistake in your assumption bro... Petrol rate will be Rs102 even after 5 years??? We should thank God, if it never reaches Rs150 by that time. Even though EB charges will go up in 5 years (say upto Rs10-12), the difference will be huge for IC engine vehicles...
Hats off for your Great work bro... Keep rocking..

    • @ejv1963
      @ejv1963 2 роки тому

@KanagaDeepan N, Though solar panels primarily produce DC, while charging an EV, it has to be first converted to AC and then the car converts it again to DC for storage. You can't hammer in the DC from solar panels straight into an EV battery like the roadside superchargers

Good observation, but while doing comparative analysis, one has to keep some factors constant, to make the analysis simple. You are right that petrol prices will become Rs.200 per litre but factoring that in the calculation will require more fine modelling. Similarly it is quite possible that EV battery will die much earlier and in India the word "warranty" comes with lots of if and buts.

Good information Sir. One thing I want to place here on record. The main slogan of promoting e vehicle is that it is environment friendly. But the thing is that to charge one car to its full level 30 units of power is required. So if half of the vehicle population in the country is switched to EV mode, then what would be the quantum of Power required to feed those vehicles. Wouldn't that be a factor for the power generating companies to generate more Power required for EV cars. In that case, in India which is reliant mostly on coal based thermal power plants, the additional generation of Power required for e vehicles would even pollute the environment to a greater extent. Therefore unless and otherwise energy generation in India is derived majorly through renewable energy sources, the introduction of e vehicles would add more burden on the country by adding more to the existing pollution. The fly ash remnants flowing through waterbodies near all the thermal power plants are a major disaster for our environment. We have already spoilt our environment by incessant use of coal for generation of electricity. Developed countries have strengthened their renewable energy sources and they use less quantity of coal generated power and the coal used by those countries have high calorific value when compared to the sub standard coal used for power generation in India.

Good comparison. Just correcting one thing, EV should not be just a additional car for city usage, if we're going to use only for daily commute then everyone should buy only EV. If people travel for long distance often than buy only IC engine cars. EV buyers on loan can get a tax exemption of up to 1.5L per year so hard earned money or not you would've saved a lot after 8 years. In another two years there will be a lot of charging stations and the price of battery will also reduce drastically. There is no definite study that battery should be replaced after 8 years.

It will be sure posible in near future....if all are using EV ...then cost of EV may be reduced... further if you get charging station available more as a petrol pump ..then no need to worry about distance you travel...
Finally if we use more and more EV vehicles... reserves of our foreign exchange would be in great condition compared even purchase of battery from China ...

Hi Good Review and we'll detailed one. The below.points could also added like Income Tax rebate for Ev..and fuel cost increase over 5 yrs..102 could go 130 to 150. But still your suggestions is absolute valid.

Agree. Petrol price may hit 200 rs in next five years. I believe 5 years is an break even point for ev vehicles. If petrol rates keeps on increasing, by the end of five years we will be able to match the ev and petrol initial price with interest. Next five years we will be running ev for 10,000 rs per year and 1,00,000 per for petrol vehicle.
