Dr. Barkley, I have been wondering if you have ever spoken on the interaction between individuals with ADHD and their perceptions/understanding of nonverbal cues in any of your lectures. Thanks again for your commitment to regular posting and dissemination of ADHD-related information!

By the way, I’ve watched other videos of yours and I’m impressed by your work. Thank you for your contributions.

Dr. Barkley, as someone mentioned under a previous video, the bottom of your slideshow is cut off.
For more details, the last line is completely cut off on my phone when held upright, and partially cut off when held sideways.
Thank you for all of your work.

    I had a topic idea:
How different a combination of both ASD and ADHD in a person is compared to its constituent mental disorders.

Thank you. Earlier, when talking about abuse against children with ADHD, you have been keen on pointing out that since ADHD mostly is inherited genetically, parents are likely to have ADHD - often undiagnosed with the risk for the parents to be more impatient and impulsive. Here you only mention that the kids with both BD and ADHD are difficult and therefore are at risk to be more abused. It leads me to wonder about the genetics of BD(Did I miss that you mentioned that earlier? Then I apologise)? Is it fair to say that parents to children with both ADHD and BD are more likely to be challenged in their way of parenting? I also wonder if children with ADHD and BD also are at risk to go inwards with their energy due to abuse, confusing behaviour or lack of understanding from the adults in the closest surroundings? I must say that some that I know of who have both ADHD and BD have rather an silent, inward persona boardering social "invisibility".

😅 I was literally mentioning this in a TikTok video today, I've been diagnosed with bipolar but not ADHD (but multiple relatives have ADHD diagnosis). My sister-in-law is a psychologist and I tried bringing it up I once and she started ranting about how most comorbid diagnosis were a diagnosis failure. Plus I'm a Millennial and apparently we want to say we have multiple disorders to seem unique or whatever 🤷

I only recently have figured out that my sister‘s diagnosed with bipolar disorder and ADHD and as well as possibly having high functioning autism, which I now realize yeah my moods do go on for about three days straight and then shift it admittedly between only three identifiable main moods with maybe two or three categories I would classify I’m extremely irritated and agitated. I’m good or I’m extremely depressed for like two or three days. I only was able to manage most of the symptoms due to cognitive awareness, introspection inception, as well as multiple different forms of cognitive empathy training, as well as effective empathy and becoming aware of social constructs, sociology, and studying probably six years worth of self taught psychology, studying multiple different types of disorders, including high functioning, autism, as well as ADHD and processing disorder which I also have and my psychiatrist said, are you bipolar at one point which I wanted to deny it but the more I became aware and paid attention to my temperament and emotions and self reflected in the moments in interception I was able to realize a pattern which was recognizable and bipolar disorder does fit, but I can’t classify it as bipolar one or bipolar two I don’t know enough about bipolar one and two although I’m going through the studying phases of it with my special interest of psychology in the first place and disorders so I’m still trying to figure it out plus I know I have trauma. I’ve been breaking down systematically what I can remember, but my brain unfortunately represses it so damn good that it’s extremely hard to be able to tell the difference between complex PTSD and ADHD autism symptoms that can Coincide together, so I’m trying my best to figure everything out now. No I’m about to start watching your video. I wanted to make the statement ahead of time before I watch your video. I have yet to watch the first or second part but I can definitely go back and watch them after this one. I definitely should still be able to follow along, even if I jump halfway into it

Mmmm, don't rule out cyclothymia as an option, it's basically Bipolar III. I was diagnosed with bipolar after a "stress induced psychotic episode" but I hated how Lithium and Respiridone affected me so weaned myself off and pretty much abandoned seeking medication for years. A doctor years later I discussed my mental history and the incident where I was described as having "a stress induced psychotic episode" said it sounded a lot more like Bipolar II or cyclothymia to him because apart from that one incident I don't really have manic episodes but more like hypomania or elevated moods that aren't at the crazy delusional stage.
Lately I've been wondering if a lot of emotional instability is just plain old ADHD or trauma related emotional dysregulation but much like yourself I'm not sure about anything definitely 😬
