Great video, Rich. I want to learn a lot more, so hoping you do a class. I learn something new every time. The live projection is a good one.

Thanks Rich! Short you tube classes please. Maybe how to use the 360 you were talking about. I’m new to photo editing and never used photoshop and just subscribed to affinity.

So, having personally made a comparison of Affinity Photo 2 and the last non-subscription Photoshop (version CS6), I'd like to know a couple of things.
Firstly and importantly, why don't Affinity own their own lens correction profile list?
The list of xml profiles used in Affinity 2 is way out of date, and seems to be rarely if ever updated by whoever does own the list. The Adobe list is invariably up-to-date, and all their profiles work well in Camera Raw and the 12-year old CS6. But in spite of assurances to the contrary in the Affinity Photo forum, Adobe profiles don't successfully transfer to Affinity. They behave very weirdly and even make distortions and aberrations worse.
My own examples are the Sigma 35mm F1.4 (Art. 21) for Sony and Lumix, and Sony 50mm F1.4 GM, neither of which have profiles for Affinity.
I think this is a serious deficiency in an image editing application trying to attract professional photographers who work with RAW image files.
My second issue is simply the speed of Affinity Photo 2. Why does it perform generally slower than the 12-year old Photoshop CS6? It's not an issue that would prevent me for using it if I didn't have alternatives, but I would have expected Affinity Photo 2 to have been at least equal to, if not faster than, PS CS6.
To me the lens correction issue (and the fact that Affinity doesn't own its own lens correction profile list) is a bit of a dealbreaker. I bought my copy of Affinty Photo 2 based of good reviews - no reviews mentioned anything about lens correction profiles. But it turns out that Affinity Photo 2 doesn't give me very much that I can't do, and do quicker, in PS CS6. And the one thing that I really need it to do at the tap of a stylus, or mouse click, it can't be relied on to do - especially for quite a lot of lenses made in the last couple of years.

Hey Rich, Thank you for sharing the information. Is Affinity capable of outlining estimated property lines and highlighting them?

Oh I see I replied to your other comment. I think you can make lines easy enough with it.

I think a lot of people will be dropping Adobe this year.

These are all designed for single photo editing. We need a Lightroom competitor.
