    CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Friend and realtor Riggleman (Jason Bateman) encourages Gary (Vince Vaughn) and Brooke (Jennifer Aniston) to sell the condo and go their separate ways.
    FILM DESCRIPTION:
A once-loving Chicago couple whose happily-ever-after quickly turned into a never-again finds their crumbling romance complicated when both parties refuse to move out of the pair's recently purchased condo. The Break-Up is a romantic comedy that starts where all the others end. The future once looked promising for thirtysomething couple Brooke (Jennifer Aniston) and Gary (Vince Vaughn), but lately it seems like a series of increasingly petty and intolerable squabbles have snuffed any semblance of romance in their relationship. Their confrontation endlessly fueled by mean-spirited suggestions of revenge tactics from friends and family and their stubborn refusal to budge resulting in an excruciating stalemate, Brooke and Gary ultimately decide to spitefully stick it out as hostile roommates until the weaker party eventually admits defeat. As the competition to drive one another out grows increasingly intense and outrageous, however, Brooke eventually comes to the realization that she's not fighting for possession of the condominium as much as she is fighting to salvage her relationship with the man she once viewed as the love of her life.

The common way this couple fights (and the way most people fight actually) is by getting their point across in a very elooongated and vague process. Maybe it’s because they are individuals that don’t have the mental power to leave eachother, but their arguements take a route where they start pointing out little issues, little mistakes, minor problems, in order to humiliate or hurt the other person and manipulate them into thinking they’re insane for making a small mistake..rather than just talking about the REAL and the CORE issue at hand.
I have ZERO experience with couple fights, but from arguements I’ve been in either with family or siblings, I’ve noticed these things. My family (especially my mom and dad)are the kind of people that take things semi personally and are the kind of people to forget rather than forgive, so BECAUSE of that, when they argue (and when we argue with them), no one is actually LISTENING to WHAT the other person is saying and we focus too much on the TONALITY or the PHRASING of a statement. This can cause many problems because when there’s someone who takes things too personally and you tell them something in even the SLIGHTEST wrong way, they will get more mad about HOW you said something..rather than WHAT you actually said.
Ok my rant is done, hope this taught something.
    Have a good day

      *waive
And as someone above said, he could’ve just handed them a check after all the paperwork was signed. Boom - fee waived without his employer knowing.

@@calisongbird You're correct, 'waive'. Thanks for the correction. And you're probably right assuming he privately sold that and did not use any of the firms advertising, listing software, etc. Lot of reasons agents partner with firms is to use all their resources and marketing (reputation) but you can always sell by owner or through a friend if you want - nobody is forcing to you to use a RE agency.
If he didn't use ANY of that and represented it solely himself, maybe he could get away with that, otherwise the firm would know and come after him for the fees.

Jason Bateman is a great salesman (or a caricature of a salesman). He makes some great sales pitches in Ozark. The guy could sell ice to Eskimos. I love his dry humor. Vince & Jen portray a toxic couple so well, it brings back bad memories. ha. Good movie overall.

Wooow I remember this movie seemed boring to me when I was a kid and it was on. I stumbled across it now and it's a horror show. He is narcissistic, gaslighting manipulating manchild and she acts like a victim all the time while harbouring feelings for this POC. This is just SO sad and lowkey triggering for anyone who has ever encountered a person like him

Haha. He's a realtor. His skills are: lying about how much a property is worth, and extracting as much commission as possible from his clients. Please note: he didn't offer them the option of just renting out the place and splitting the long term gains of the property value increasing because they'd quite possibly not use him as a realtor later.
