Both are great cars for their eras. People forget how great those platforms were and just how easy it is to make the old F-Bodies really fast.

that trans am tuned af, all of its traces of it being slow nowadays has been wiped from existance, when i always see a trans am i dont always expect it to be modded, but you can never expect anything with cars nowadays, they can look stock from the outside, but who knows what can be done to the engine

Put both of those cars on a track and the result would be much different. TA’s handled like crap.

They were actually on of the best handling cars from the mid 80s until 2002, especially with WS6 package along with Camaro Z28/IROC-Z/SS, and even today it’s easy and relatively inexpensive to make a F-Body into a Corvette beating track car with suspension mods and brakes. Hawks Performance has an IROC LS7/T-56M swap set up for road course duty that would beat a C8 Z51, would be interesting to see how it faired against a C8 ZO6 though, it has 650+ hp so it has the power to run with a C8Z. I’m in a tighter budget so the suspension and brakes would be where I splurged for quality and just build a 4.7/5.3/6.0 truck engine or LS1-2-3.

Dude, get real. They handled OK for an American car and that’s about it.

@@negativeindustrial they handled as good as a corvette, and corvettes handled just as good as anything back then, only drawback was live axle making them not as good as IRS cars on rough roads. I e had 3rd and 4th Gen f bodies and could hang with 300ZX, Supras, Corvettes, BMWs and so on, I guess you just have to know how to drive them, you can go with old motorweek episodes and any reputable car mag, they all praise f body handling with the live axle being the only complaint

Ever had something that was made for handling like a 911, MR2 Turbo or a Miata?

@@negativeindustrial I’ve had from racing go-karts to a few Camaro Z28/SS Firebird T/A/Formula, Corvettes, RX7, Supras, 300ZX, 350/370Z, M3, 944 Turbo. Driven friend’s MR2, new ZL1s and SS 1LE, (one of my 3rd Gen Camaros was a 1LE), C5, C6 and C7 ZO6s, oh and I had a CTS-V1 with suspension and driveshaft, differential mods, every bit as fun to corner as the M3, even when it was stock.
