1. The arms will be handed over to the French government, not the Spanish government
2. 35 towns in the Basque Country are taking part today in a (non-binding) poll to decide whether they would like to become citizens of a Basque sovereing state. 150,000 people are called to have a say.
3. Independence claims are gaining ground, especially after Catalonia's decission to carry out an independence referendum.

You are actually wrong, support for independence has never been this low, in the last poll the support for secession didn't even reach 20%. This according to the euskobarometro made by the regional government.

"Has ETA given up on independence?" Well I don't care. The independence is much much more than ETA and it must be fought with peaceful means.
Please don't imply that ETA was backed by all independence supporters. Nor that with ETA away, independence is away too.
