Thank you for your do and don't as I will be doing mine soon. The only issue I have is, wish the background music is not so loud. Point is, trying to focus what you said not the music.
The music is there to make it feel not so scary. Surgery can be scary for many people, they're trying to put it into a light-hearted and informational format.
I had the surgery yesterday and I had no problem whatsoever. I didn’t have to use eye drops or anything afterwards,I didn’t even require an eyepatch. My follow up was this morning and I can resume my regular duties including driving. If you need to have this surgery, I highly recommend you do it. Now my sight is crystal clear!
@@iringa77 No, it’s absolutely amazing ! They actually put the medication in your eye when they are doing the surgery, afterwards you will see slight movement in your eye, that’s the medication, your body will absorb it after 1 or 2 weeks. If someone else were looking into your eye, they would not see the medication in your eye, it’s only noticeable to you.
Had my right eye done and waiting a month on the left. Putting on my o;d glasses with the right lens removed is like being in sa fun house of mirrors right now , YIKES
I had cataract surgery at Mass Eye & Ear Infirmary in Boston about a week ago. When they took the eye patch off the following morning I had excellent vision. I didn't even need new glasses. The vision in the eye measured at 20/25. The eye surgeon told me that an outcome like that is rare as most people at least need new glasses. I guess I was just lucky and everything fell together just right.
Which lens did you chose? Was it the standard or the very expensive? I was quoted a price of $3,000 for a better lens. Please let me know as I'm having surgery in a week!
I had the 2nd eye done 2 days ago. I love how I now see. Next day follow up visit, the Doc said I did not need glasses anymore to drive. My eyes are now "20-25 plus". That's how they termed it. If you need this surgery, it's fast & pain free. I recommend you to do it.
I had cataract surgery in Winnipeg Canada and the result was amazing. The Doctors hints are exactly what my surgeon told me.On a lighter note its free in Canada.
Excellent excellent information! I had my left eye done almost 2 weeks ago and looking forward to second eye!!what a difference it has made in my eye sight!! It’s like I am brand new!
Just had 1 eye done on May 3. In & out in 2 hours. No pain whatsoever. Most of that 2 hours was prep time like asking questions, prep drops for the surgery, etc. I go back to do the other eye in 2 days. Wished I didnt wait so long to do this.
Thank You I enjoyed this. I am going for cataract surgery in 10 days and nobody told me what I can't do after surgery. I might also have to put my own eye drops in by myself if I can't get the dropless surgery. I am getting both eyes done at the same time. Also the background music is too loud.
I had monovision laser surgery 6 months ago on both eyes 10 minutes apart.. I had beginnings of glaucoma in both eyes...I can see better today than I ever have..no glasses or contacts...I followed Dr instructions and had no problems..
Absolutely the lens can move. Mine did. I was high prescription beforehand, and I was not warned of this. I also suffer from dry eyes. I live alone, so I had to keep doing all the normal chores such as vacuuming and bending to feed the cats. I ended up with a slipped lens, a bleed in the eye that has left a permanent brown smear in my vision, a complete wrinkling of the lens capsule by about four weeks after surgery which left me with little vision in the eye beyond fuzzy images for six months afterwards. Then I had to have laser surgery to make a little pin hole in the wrinkled lens capsule to see through. At night, particularly in winter, I have a lot of visual distortion in that eye from when the pupil expands and the hole in the lens capsule isn't big enough to see through clearly. I have to look down and inwards with that eye to actually see well because of the slippage. And the other eye isn't going to be fixed because it just has wear and tear, not a fully ready cataract. So I have one very shorted sighted eye and one long sighted one for the foreseeable future. I don't drive. I don't think I'd be allowed to with my present vision. All my friends had successful surgeries, and I was very disappointed mine went so wrong.
I had my 2nd eye done 3 days ago. My first eye was a breeze and my vision improved greatly. However, 3 days after the 2nd surgery, I still have blurred vision. I am worried - I was so happy with the first surgery and am now disappointed with the 2nd. I hope the vision gets better in the next few days, otherwise I will go back to the doctor... I hope he didn't put in the wrong lens...
AMAZING AND EXCELLENT EXPLANATION. IT'S VERY IMPORTANT AND HELPFUL FOR RELEVANT PEOPLE. THANKS VERY MUCH. AFTER SURGERY I EXPERIENCE SPARKLING EFFECT WHEN LOOKING DIRECTLY AT BULBS . PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS AND TELL ME HOW TO MAKE IT CORRECT.
Just had cataract surgery this morning and it was easy, no pain and only feeling a slight grit in my eye. Resting on my sofa and finding my depth perception is gone. Feels strange but this will pass.

Thank you, Dr. Chan. I had my first cataract extraction last month and had no problems at all other than a possible ptosis of the eyelid afterwards. My doctor said it can happen from the eyelid speculum stretching the muscles around the eye but it will correct after a few months. I hope my next surgery scheduled in a couple of weeks will go as well.
Come to the UK mate i had cateract surgery 3 years ago and ive lost my sight in that eye due to corneal damage, retinal damage, macular damage and a ruptured capsular bag that was missed at surgery so yeah god bless the NHS the best in the world at covering up their mistakes.

But will be happy for him when it’s done especially he uses only the computer for his entertainment plus taxes etc. Let’s hope it will help him see his computer better without my help.
Very informative video. There is just one small criticism and that is the background music is too loud and it is very often masked over the words you are saying. Having music is good but tone it down a little. Thank you
My biggest concern is the "up front" payment prior to surgery. I've never in all my life had to pay up front for any procedure, always having had everything be billed to my health insurance providers, and then I took care of the remainder. Living on a very small income as I do, I have no idea how I'm going to put together the money for the initial payment, but I have to do so, and soon. Frustrating.
If you have Medicare & Dr. accepts Medicare assignment you should be fine. If not I sympathize. I never would have had it done if I had to pay up front.
