This is great info as I will plan to have a CaRx soon on the new build. Love the info and great content..

Would you use the ph probe straight off the apex to measure and control the on and off but how would you link the alkatronic

How would I assign the Day and Night to my actual CaRx? I'm kind of lost on that part as this is my first time setting one up on my apex.

One issue those with the CaRX_Reg programming. Since the alkalinity value is only updated by the Trident run, unless you run hourly (a big cost hit), your alkalinity value is stale as it only runs every 6 hours. So, your ALK value can exceed your desired value by whatever the 6 hours to the next test allows. Thoughts?

The only way around this is to run the Trident hourly or every 2 hours. Also with a CARx once dialed in you should not have alkalinity movements within 6 hours to be careful about. My alkalinity doesn’t move more than .2-.5 throughout the day.

I know this is kind of an old video, but would it help to also use the PH on your main tank to control the CO2? Like maybe an IF PH > 8.4 then OFF...IF PH < 8.0 then ON. You can also add this to your day/night virtual switches because obviously your PH is going to be lower at night with the lights off.

I have programming that allows for this.

Why do you decrease the output of the reactor at night?

      Alan Sunshine i do not.

What was the purpose of altering the pH from daytime and nighttime?

      Alan Sunshine different consumption periods.

You are a machine, in a good way. The purpose of having two different periods of affluent flow is to flatten the ups and downs of your pH levels. If you notice it goes up during the day and down at night, or at least in my case.
