I use a DaStaCo reactor with DaStaCo hydroxide. I started it as soon as I saw the first dots of coralline algae. I added 30 acropora at month 2 and plenty of LPS. The tank is five and a half months old, growth is exceptional and not one coral loss. If it someday needs replacing I'll get another DaStaCo without hesitation.
Great video! Glad they came out with a smaller version. The price is good ($1399) if you consider similar options. GEO 618 (single chamber by the way) $450, AP Carbondoser $350, Masterflex Continuous Duty Brushless pump $800, Much easier with this ACR than dealing with bubble counts, etc.
Did You Ever look at Bill Wann Auto Calcium Reactor? (Aquarium Engineering). IMO his product is superior with it being made out of PVC and Not Acrylic and uses Unions and not uniseals. Plus made in America and life time warranty. Also uses Sicce Re-circ pump as well as 110v so no need for a converter.
It's kind of uncanny how much he sounds like...maybe a slightly tired Jake. I was just listening to the first couple minutes, then started watching, and was surprised to be seeing some other guy.
Awesome video! Learned something new, but PLEASE put your voltage converter above or away from the reactor. Would hate for you to have a leak and have everything go up in smoke!
Yep I wanted one I was completely sold until I saw the price lol darn man it’s no way around it. If u want a decent calcium reactor you’re going to pay for.
Vanmo92 2 grand plug and play is pretty decent don’t get me wrong but for me 2 part with kalk+2 is like 20 bucks every 2 months so I wouldn’t say that was feasible “for me”
Not at all! Its rated for 500W and the reactor only pulls 18W. Im sure if you used the capacity of the converter it would heat up a bit, but with this application there is no heat. Also important to get a voltage converter rated for continuous use.
Cover the dastaco or at least the Tubes, a friends Chambers got pretty ugly Mine is in the cabinet(?) with the Rest of the electronic and it looks Like its Brand new Sorry for bad english 😄
Always worth considering international gear! Voltage conversion is a small price to pay for some of the premium products offered elsewhere in the world
I bought the A2 a couple of weeks ago. It is a piece of crap. Stay away from this reactor.. 1) the input and output to the peristaltic pump do not say put - the 1/4 rigid ro/id lines do not fit into the input and output of this german made pump. that is a fail. 2) alarms go off once or twice a week with no clear instruction on what they mean. you will be lost. 3) highly fragile hardware. The eheim pump breaks off from the CO2 chamber easily. Basically, for $2000, I would give it to your favorite charity rather than DeStaCo.
We have a lot of people in Germany using the Dastaco in combination with the Fauna Marin Traces Elementes 1,2 and 3 hooked to a Doser.
If i am ever in need of a good calcium reactor this would be what I would get for sure, engineered very well and thought out

Great explanation👍🏾👍🏾. Interesting piece of equipment looking forwards to hearing your impressions in a few months.
Thanks for the review reef builders.
2700 price tag is a bit steep however.

4" reactor = $650 base, +$200 controller, +$35 needle valve = $885
Wow Jake’s new hair cut looks great!!
Would love to see an update of the progress for this Calcium Reactor and livestock!
It's kind of uncanny how much he sounds like...maybe a slightly tired Jake. I was just listening to the first couple minutes, then started watching, and was surprised to be seeing some other guy.
I did the same thing, then I watched his lips to see if Jake was doing a voice over... Lol
Great Vid thanks love my dastaco xtreme a they are fantastic bits of kit, took a few days to dial in but then it does its own thing
Great review, very informative, cheers buddy. 👍🏴
I use the the T6 in the UK , I dose the tropic marin A&K alongside mine, perfect ICP
Awesome video! Learned something new, but PLEASE put your voltage converter above or away from the reactor. Would hate for you to have a leak and have everything go up in smoke!
Lovely to see him here and I see allot of improvements in his way of review, Jake has done a perfect KT on how to review a product
Merci pour ta vidéo !!! 👍👍👍
I need a converter for a Red Dragon pump - Can you provide the name or link to the converter you used?
Thanks for sharing this Evan.
Also curious which app you are using to log your water chemistry?
Reef Trace
Thanks and cheers👍
Did you test for trace elements? Are you dosing them?
Why did you go with this model over other automatic reactors?
Thanks Jake! It's the best calcium reactor. can I use ARM media with it?
Is there a way to use that media in a normal reactor effectively?
@evan what's the test results logger you use?
Reef Trace
You should use the Photometer If you Turn your dastaco Higher than 1!!
What kind of media do you use in reactor
Since ReBorn seems to be gone for a while. What do you suggest? Carib Sea ARM, Seachem High Purity Reef Calcium Reactor media...
Let me get back to you in that
Another good reviews on products, I don't understand how anybody can give a thumbs down on something that informational.

Its in the range of any high-end solution for mineral replenishment; be it dosing, calcium reactor or otherwise.

Looks like there’s an opportunity for a new product to be developed for the US market..
💧 drip intro my man🙌🏾

Currently filling my DaStaCo A4 Extreme watching this video.
Are we saying this is better than what Jake was pushing the delta twin tech .🤷🏻♂️😀
Great video
🤔 I like it! 👍
That 2 second clip made me want to get a bubble tip anemone stop with these subliminal messages... just kidding.
Cover the dastaco or at least the Tubes, a friends Chambers got pretty ugly
Mine is in the cabinet(?) with the Rest of the electronic and it looks Like its Brand new
Sorry for bad english 😄
Eye candy please !! Wish I was u guys
Who’s this guy
LMFAO
The unsung hero
Jake Adams in disguise...
Can’t u tell he’s Jakes voice over guy lol. But nawl he has been around I’ve seen him a few times.
A guy showing us another cool Gadget!
Those are huge chunks
$2. GRAND.......No Thanks,,,,,,
Meh..lost me since you say 220v conversion.
