Otra obra maestra a contemplar.
I had a chance to meet Harold Budd and I didn’t pursue it and now he’s gone and John hassle. I’ve been looking to find out where he lives right had to show him what I was doing with music and how much he inspired me, turns out he was living in the same county and I never knew it, and I never got a chance to meet him and I feel so sad because he’s been such a big part of what I am and what I do
All these musicians come together solid. I think the cover undersells it--the cover to "Surgeon" keeps one coming back again and again in a state of primordial euphoria.
Wistful sonic ambience that really conjures a sublime atmosphere, Strange Thunder sounds like AshRa Temple or similar ambient Krautrock. Like S Haney said i would like to add Tibetan Singing Bowl to this album just to jam along & may add it to Sketch for Sub Rosa where it is just Harold Budd's Piano ;-)
@Sarah Sioux - please give Suzy a call. Where's Brian? (Eno) Mister Hassell taught me a lot, as well as Harold, as well as Brian - who the heck is Gavin? Thanks.
@@dejan_krsic - thank you for your interest. I don't believe in hope as it is based on an imagined "future" which does not actually exist as we all know. I don't try to be funny. If you don't laugh internally or externally then I do or do not do be funny as Yoda has taught us all. Suzy is a play on pronouns. Brian Eno and Harold Budd and Jon Hassell are cosmic messengers, obviously, and they manifest a better groove. That's all that matters. I serve beautiful music and I don't burn gasoline. I rode a bicycle from 1958 to 2018 and I made all of the appropriate amends. Cheers!

Thank you Sarah for sharing this here. Truly beautiful. Jon Hassell was a genius. A great loss that he has left us. Loving this space!
so glad to have found this sound
wow. I didn't know I needed this. perfect for this rainy day...
I wish I could play on a Jon Hassell album, just so I could say I did. The man is Van Gogh, pollack, Basquiat and everybody...He is amazing!!!

now that I have lived in the frozen Montana backcountry for four years, I can appreciate the cover more
Beautiful. Thanks for uploading. I was not aware of this before.
My memory serves me well. Thanks for posting.
With the first track, I picture being lost and snowblind in a forest during a blizzard.

I agree. But its the Bryars' pieces that I really love on this particular record. Timeless music, hard to believe it was 32 years ago!
Sublime

Well familiar with all three composers, but not this collaboration. Assume it's rare. Thanks Sarah for the upload.
