Two of the greatest musician/composers, of any generation. Fantastic.
Where the fuck has this been all my life? Glad I heard this before I died. Thx for the upload. This is heavenly euphonious.

Spiritual Jazz at its finest. Peace Be The Journey.🙏🌍❤️
This music repairs me everytime I listen to it
I had....absolutely no idea these two collaborated. This is stunning.
If you like this, you may also be interested in a studio session that features the two from five years prior to this recording! The tape is entitled 'Tambourinen Session, Copenhagen, 1970'.
"Sunrise Of The Planetary Dream Collector" is a true gem.
This version is one of the greatest moments in music imo
Absolute masterpiece. Peace and love to all.
one of the best pieces of recorded music, the scratchy recording gives it another layer of ethereal transcendence
can't stop coming back to that record it's so hypnotic
Thank god for music like this.
From the very first listen i can already tell this is gonna be one of my all time fav record
Sunday morning in Manchester, UK - 10:46 AM, what looks like the last two days of late Summer before the season changes to Autumn, patio doors open and geraniums in vivid scarlet bloom against a soft blue sky and coils of resinous, honied incense drift slowly outside, mingle, dance and dissipate with Don Cherry's tones upwards into suburban sky. Time stands still then accelerates and fragments into lost moments.
You are in a real poetic mood, Robert. And you put it nicely into words!
That's not "exotic" incense by any chance?
Amazing!..music in constant metamorphic flux ..inner tranquility and mental adventure!!!
Riley & Cherry ...Greatest !!
Terry & Cherry
How could anyone dislike this? Like saying you dislike the birds singing in the trees......
Perfectly said
Some people dislike birds, some people dislike children, some people dislike themselves... There will always be someone to dislike something.
look around you, dimwits abound
I love your comment. So true!!
nope this is not like birds
I just love this Music its like finding a secret and very special place in Nature of extraordinary beauty and then just continue to walk and Dance into the tonal landscapes of pure magic and beauty 🙏🎵💜🎶peace and love
Thats one of the finest recordings Ive ever heard
Terry Riley on Organ, Karl Berger on vibes (and DC on trumpet, of course)
The Best sound conected whit deep inspiration !Galaxi Sound Master Don Cherry !!!
Life-changing
My auntie heard "Brown Rice" on Radio 6. I liked it's freaky funky nature. It made me think of a more arranged "On The Corner" by Miles Davis. Ebay led me here. This is beautiful. I am far from educated on minimalist composers but I love what I am hearing.
Que cosa tremendA, Terry Rilley y Don Cherry. Me encantA,; si Terry, hubiese invitado a su amigo Daevid Allen, habría sido el mejor de los colmos. Saludos para todos los que disfrutan de esto.
I fell in love with Terry Riley's music and Don Cherry ( via Ornette) under completely different circumstances and here they are together. Fantastic to hear them interacting! I bet Mark Isham likes this (see Vapor Drawings)
+++1 David Rumpler
Ha, that's funny, for I was thinking the exact same thing; I got a Vapor Drawings vibe almost immediately, and yes, to your keen observation of the trumpeting sounds, he just might still have his three vinyl copies from 1975, though two are groove-broken and unplayable, while the third copy with its myriad of various pops and intermittent crackle, still brings a smile to his face nearly 50 years later.
Amazing how life, it seems, can whimsically manifest a miserable tempest of ugliness and discontented bedlam with what the world has been witnessing the last month or so with the COVID-19 pandemic. At times, life can seem so blatantly un-emphathetic, and sadly to many, depressive, and hopelessly fleeting. Whew...
Alternatively, when life on occasion wishes to eagerly show-off her much enamored beauty and all its splendorous adoration for humanity, she has an uncanny way of ultimately resolving herself to grander revelations. She teasingly pulls back the curtained, glittery facade to let a privileged few in on some truly ethereal, musical magic; euphoric notes of bliss rhythmically dance and subconsciously melt with one another, in as to create a most brilliant, aesthetic tapestry -- one of unparalleled jubilation, unrelenting joy, and pure bliss. The music here would definitely be one example of the latter... To my fellow human beings, better days to come, for sure, better days will come... *P-e-a-c-e!*
@@semjasefromerra8294 Ah...
👍 🎶🎸🌈 👂 🔥 an amazing and nice record 🎹🎹 wonderful 😎
Here, not only are melodic contours known and appreciated by the Hindoos, but also an absolutely new harmonic material, which brings us prisms, clusters of chords, thick chimes, and garlands of garlands. What strikes first of all in this music is, on the one hand, the penetrating charm of harmonic aggregations and, on the
other hand, the absolute clarity of intervals !
Well said!!
What? "Hindoos"? Is this the 19th Century?
Hindoo is an archaic spelling of Hindu and one whose use today may be considered derogatory (Wikipedia). Language changes, but beautiful music endures and your description is very fine.
reminds me a bit of Bo Hansson
The bhoodists, mooslims, jooish, and christioons like it too.
uh ahhh what a album ! thanx a lot for sharin this masterpiece
This has been the relaxing moment of my day, some awesome sounds coming out of here
this is absolutely brilliant, thanks for the upload

Wow! This collab is amazing!
Unleashes my mind
I just immediately loved this, less than 10 seconds into it.
Thank you.
This is so good
Fabulous!
Magnificent
This causes brain power more than any Mozart. Thank you, artist
It's nice. But maybe you need to revisit Mozart. And (among others) Bach, Scarlatti, Handel, Vivaldi, and Handel, too, while you're at it! ;)
@@JohnOBurke Or maybe for him, this actually causes brainpower more than any mozart. As a former classical performer, I find myself often in agreement with Mr. Muniz here. This Collab between Don And Terry is very powerful and contains a message not often found in the classics.
@@JohnOBurke its taken me almost 63 years to finally free myself from the bizarrely eurocentric narrow minded limitations of "enlightement" conditioning (masonic music) And I am glad about that. Peace
@@GOLDSMITHEXILE Not mutually exclusive.

PURE MAGIC !!!
mindblowing. what a masterpiece!
this is amazing
The Boston Bruins, back in the late 70s, early 80s, had a player named Terry O'Riley and the coach was named Don Cherry... I shit you not!
So they gave up music for sports? Take that atheists.
@@Koettnylle Yes.
Imagine a Don Cherry/Don Cherry collaboration!
@@w.g.hunter1300 Imagine a Terry O'Riley/Terry Riley collaboration!

I would like to do a video of the tide coming in on a sculpture by Andy Goldsworthy with this soundtrack ...
After this being cited in so many journals , essays it is wonderful now to be finally hearing it !
may i ask which journals and essays? i would very much appreciate any links or information that you could share !

Of the Sun...
This is absolutely beautiful.
Qué pedazo de disco !
Aw, HELL yeah.
Real shame about that distortion on the last track, though.
love it
SUPERB.
MASTERFUL
great !!!!!
They should release a remastered version of this with cleaned up audio (less distortion on the trumpet) and extended tracks (no fade outs)!
No they shouldnt
They definitely shouldNOT.
@@coelacanth23 Why not? Musical imperfections can often be good but the distortion of the trumpet here is not intended and simply doesn't sound good. I think at least one of those conditions have to be met for it to warrant not being remastered.
I agree, so long as the warmth and ambiance of the original is retained.
Marvellous
