Central States Hammer In

Hello I am Allen Newberry and today we are talking about the Central States Hammer In and Knife Show. It is a traveling Hammer In and rotates through Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. This year it was in Claremore Oklahoma at the shop of Billy Helton J.S. Next year it will be Sept 12th 2020 at the Tired Iron of the Ozarks fall show in Gentry, Arkansas which is an antique tractor and engine show. This show is free to the public and has low fees for table holders. It has demonstrations all day, a cutting competition, many knives for sale, and knife awards. It is also very popular with Forged In Fire competitors with 14 competitors at this year's show if I got my count right. This year included demonstrations by Ray Kirk M.S., Brion Tomberlin M.S., Tad Lynch M.S., Paul Brown, Gary Mulkey, and I even had the chance to do a delft clay casting demonstration.
Allen Newberry is a Journeyman Smith with the American Bladesmith Society and a Forged in FIre Champion.
