I bought the Tipmann M-4 Pistol, then when a the brace ban happened, I converted it too a carbine. In both configurations, it has been extremely reliable, regardless of what ammo I run through it. Once my wife shot it, she declared it hers. I still use it quite often, but set it up for her to use.

So having a plastic feeding ramp built into the mag is a good design? Lol. Can't imagine why REAL M-4's don't just copy that so they jam too!?

Just took my M4 Pro pistol out for the first time this past weekend, brand new magazines, and tried out various ammo. Here are the results: CCI minimags, 0 out of 100 rnd failed; Aguila super extra: 0 out of 200 failed; Fed automatch 325: 2 rounds out of 300 failed to feed; Winchester M-22 black and 333 white box: 1 or 2 rounds per 25 magazine failed; Remington bucket of golden bullets: 4 rounds failed to feed out of 1st magazine.
So for the price of 21.16 per box at Walmart, the Fed Automatch is the best value.

Certainly, this video helped me to understand why my Micro Elite has occasional (very rare) nose-up jams. Micro Elite is my weekly range therapy tool, along with Kel-Tec CP33. The more I shoot them, the more I love them! Thank you, Tippmann and Kel-Tec! I only wish the trigger on my Micro was lighter. Then my groups would be mouse-ass tight! The trigger is not horrible though; still too heavy for a plinkster - much heavier than the factory trigger on my Colt 6920. 0:44 Nose-up jams 5:47 Low Jams 7:13 Light Strikes

I use my Tippmann regularly in a Steel Challenge match and love it as both a training tool as well as a pretty nice competition rifle as well. It's mostly stock but I did put a Elfmann trigger in it and a Holosun 510 coptic. Anyway, I have had a couple high jams and it sucks if that happens in the middle of a stage. I load the magazines as described in this and the other video. Perhaps it's me messing up loading or the ammo (I use Aguila mostly and it seems fine). I suspect it can also be molding artifacts that can cause binding.
In addition to the loading guidelines, I do have a couple tips that will hopefully eliminate these issues:
    1. number your magazines so you can tell which one is giving you issues. I just use some blue masking tape and a sharpie- doesn't have to be a fancy sticker or anything.
    2. if a magazine acts up do the following at earliest convenience
    a. take bottom plate out and spring
    b. the follower likes to remain in the magazine and I bet is a bit 'sticky' in the top 1/2 of travel down to bottom of the magazine. If this is the case go to the next step.
    c. take the 6 screws off and take your magazine apart and do the following
    d. polish the edges of both magazine halves that contact the follower. I use a dremel with a feed ramp polishing kit I bought from MCarbo for $13 that also has a container of Flitz polisher cream and 3 dremel pads. You can improvise on this- just a tip.
    e. focus on the top half of the magazine more than the bottom
    f. once you think you're done, place the follower in the magazine body and connect the other body (no screws yet). See how well the follower moves now- it should move all the way out of the magazine in most cases. If not you might consider some more polishing possibly
    g. I use Strike Hold CDLP and love that product for lots of stuff. I take a Q-tip and place a couple drops of strikehold on it. I then run the Q-Tip on the plastic I just polished as an added measure. The follower will really move after this step
    h. Reassemble the magazine
I thought I would share this and definitely appreciate Tippman's videos on their outstanding product. I have sold about 4 Tippmanns since I bought mine in 2021. The little Tippmann smokes other PCCs in competition so I'm a happy camper.

I recently purchased one of these and have been going through an older box of Thunderbolt.. The issues he's explaining are exactly what I've experienced. I'll pay closer attention to loading but I do not think this pistol likes the crap ammo at all. We have multiple failure to feed/eject issues. Multiple. One other thing that I'm not sure if it's the ammo is that after a round does fire, the trigger does not reset on its own sometimes. You have to push it forward with your finger. Anyone else have that issue?

My Tippmann is experiencing the same reset issues. I have to put my finger behind the trigger and push it forward to reset it. Anyone find a fix yet? I don’t think it’s ammo related because I’ve tried 5-6 different brand ammo and had the same issue.

Every review I've seen on the Tippmann 22's has been nothing but glowing and positive reviews. To the point where I'm really wondering how it's possible not one of the reviews mentioned any of the issues you'll find customers are discussing in forums like failures to fire, failures to eject, light strikes. You can't find much on UA-cam but except for some videos like this try to blame it on cleaning, lubing, loading mags in just the right OCD way. These are not the issues. There is something wrong either with the design or the quality control during production but the bottom line is people are having issues with getting these things to go "bang" instead "click". Sorry but with all the accessories and parts and extra mags I purchased, I wasted a lot of money on this thing and really could've bought another real AR-15 for what I spent on this M4-22.

      Does your Tippmann jam much?

    • @rjmosko
      @rjmosko 2 роки тому

It can be frustrating when something doesn't function to one's expectations. In your posting, you fail to mention the type of ammo used and that can be a big reason for issues possibly. I'm not sure what else to say. My Tippmann blows away my AR using a CMMG conversion kit in reliability and I love that all the features work like a regular AR. I'll get maybe one high jam out of 1000 rounds fired and I just posted my solution to that above. So far no high jams but I'm only 500 rounds into my new process that focused on polishing the magazines better.

Theres a slight wobble with my barrel of my m4-22 elite . I noticed on my other ar22’s the floating barrel is firm and no movement, it moves with slight hand pressure to the muzzle (up and down). Also with the iron sights the rifle is shooting about 6inches low at 20yards and i wonder if these issues are related. Any advice? It could be user error but i feel quite confident with my experience and am certain ive developed good habits

"Not to point at any particular brand" Ok and so I WILL. Winchester is some of the crappiest stuff there is. Use to be quality made. I had bought several of Winchester 333-round boxes and was getting numerous misfires and jams. As soon as I switched to Federal and CCI I hardly had any problems.

I would not recommend purchasing this firearm due to the poor customer service experience. I recently purchased this firearm and the red dot would not fit. I sent the rifle back to Tippmann in order for them to either replace the upper receiver or “mill” the upper receiver so my red dot mount would fit. Tippmann has now had possession of my firearm for close to one month and now learn I will need to wait until other jobs for new guns are completed first. I was told when I first made the call to Tippmann that it would only take 2 weeks turnaround for the repairs. Every time I contact the representative at Tippmann, he promises to call me back, but never does. I wish Tippmann would just return my money. 👎🏻 👎🏻

Lol. Because it's a .22LR... Nothing high velocity about it... 14 ft per min isn't very fast... Lol. A .22lr is probably one of the slowest/weskest bullets out there.. hence them being varmint round used to shoot little rats! So him being the professional and correct let's me know why he does firearm videos w 16k views and you probably change oil somewhere in the mid west and make dumb comments about things you obviously don't know much about.
