Ingredients ▢4 hot dogs (you can use beef hot dogs or turkey hot dogs) ▢3/4 cup yellow cornmeal ▢3/4 cup all-purpose flour (plus for more rolling) ▢1 ½ teaspoons baking powder ▢1/2 teaspoon baking soda ▢1 teaspoon sugar ▢1/2 teaspoon salt ▢3/4 cup buttermilk ▢2 eggs ▢1 ½ cups bread crumbs ▢cooking spray Instructions In a mixing bowl, whisk together cornmeal, flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk and eggs. Add the buttermilk and egg mixture into the dry ingredients. Mix to combine. (Make sure there are no streaks of flour in the mixture.) Transfer the batter to a tall glass. (Leave enough room to dip the hot dog without overflowing the glass.) Pour the breadcrumbs in a bowl and set aside. Cut the hot dogs (and the skewers) into halves, and skewer the mini hot dogs onto wooden sticks. Roll the hot dogs in flour to coat, and shake off the excess. Dip the floured hot dogs into the batter and then cover the battered hot dogs with breadcrumbs. Press the breadcrumbs onto the hot dogs gently using your hands. Spray cooking spray on the hot dogs, and then place them in the basket in one layer. Make sure not to overcrowd your air fryer. Cook in batches if necessary. Set the temperature to 375ºF, and set the time to 8 minutes. After 4 minutes, take out the basket and flip the corn dogs. Return the basket to the air fryer. After 2 more minutes, check every 1 minute until heated through. Serve with ketchup and mustard if desired.
QUESTION, why would I go through all this, and you added bread crumbs to the mixture, doesn't make sense. and you just throw everything in the bowl. Indian yellow corn bread mix has the recipe on the back of the bag. wh6i make corn muffins, or any of corn bread, you add milk. butter milk is too rich, and for making biscuits. but I'm making this the original way, with popsicle sticks and you added to many to your air fryer. 😅
buttermilk is a slightly curdled milk. to make it yourself, just grab the amount of milk you would use for the recipe, and add a tiny bit of lemon or vinegar. stir, and let it sit for 15 mins. you will see it curdles a bit, but is still mostly milk. this helps with making recipes flufier as it helps activate the baking powder. buttermilk is not butter+milk. buttermilk is not a common ingredient in many countries. i had to learn how to make it for some recipes as it is basically non existant in most southam countries
All you need to make buttermilk is add a tiny bit of lemon juice or vinegar (acid) to regular milk. The tiny bit of acidity is needed to activate the baking soda and balances sweetness in a delicious way. I never have buttermilk on hand, I just wish a quick mix of milk and lemon juice, works every time

CAN I make ahead of time THE corn dogs and freeze? Just don't want all the mess when the company any arrives?
just test it out yourself by freezing one then reheating it, its probably fine
It’s probably fine, the cooking time might be longer
Looks so good 👍

What's butter milk
🤦
@@Josiah.435 nunca he escuchado eso aqui
Melted butter and milk mixed together
It’s the part which can be separated from cream. When you separate cream you get buttermilk and butter

This Music makes me want to do heroin
breadcrumbs is not an ingredient when making authentic corn dogs.
They look pathetic... almost as pathetic as only putting the actual recipe measurements on the website instead of in the video or in the description.
