We've seen a few Glendalough reviews of late. You caught a few notes with this one that we adore. You gotta love the orange zest you get in whiskies. Cheers to ya.
100% agree with you about single grain being underrated. Also agree with your tasting notes. All styles of Irish whiskies are phenomenal in my opinion. One of the very best values out there (Glendalough) People better start to stock up on Irish whiskey, I have a feeling prices are going to go up due to the quality products that they are putting out. Very fast growing market. Pricing on Irish whiskey is very reasonable right now . Once again just my opinion. Thank God for the Irish.
Haha, you can say that again! And yeah, I think Irish whiskey is going to explode soon. This year and next, we're going to see some new distilleries releasing their first spirits, and established ones releasing age statement whiskeys, so global interest and demand will likely shoot through the roof!
I just bought a bottle at the packie, gonna try this tonight. Looking forward to it. I always try to buy a new whiskey that I've never tried/know nothing about. I might look at some reviews after buying the bottle but I like to just be surprised overall. Decided I'd give this bottle a shot. Wanted to try more single malt whiskies and it had a cool bottle with st. Kevin on the front so I figured why not. Fairly cheap too. Just subscribed btw. Cheers

I brought a bottle home after trying some at a sampling table within my local Total Wine and More. I had my eyes on a my usual scotch but this was great. The price is great too
I tried it for the first time as a blind pour at a bar and immediately wanted to get a bottle as it really suits my palate and the price is hard to beat!
Haha! Wouldn't be all too surprising, given how few producers there were a few years ago! I do appreciate the price on this one though... I mean, I'd love to see it at a higher proof, but I snagged this bottle at 34 euro in my local SuperValu, and that's a price that's hard to argue with!
@@TheWhiskeyNerd I meant as in a sip of the whiskey and a few bites of actual Costco tortilla chips. it was a surprising sweet flavor spike! could be the corn of the chips or the salt. whatever it was I ended up enjoying a third of the bottle last night 👍
@@gregr1154 ah, I get you now, probably the salt then, like salted caramel, a little bit of savoury helps to highlight the sweet! Hope you didn't have a sore head after drinking a third of the bottle! 😂

@@tomcronin9780 that's fair, I was at a tasting this evening which featured a single grain and it was much more divisive than the other whiskeys on offer.

I find method and madness single grain very similar to this and higher abv. Both lovely whiskeys. It might actually be the same whiskey.

It is a nice little pour alright, very easy to drink at that proof, but I think it could deliver a bit more at a higher proof
I can't remember what it tastes like but I've been using this bottle as a water bottle for the last 4 months. It's my favorite water bottle lol.

New to whiskey, but this one is quite mild (easy to enjoy, no burn) and gets sweet with some good stone ground tortilla chips
It's definitely a nice one, and since it's grain (mostly corn) whiskey, that probably accounts for those tortilla chip notes, like cooked corn meal

That's a bit of a shame, and likewise it's super hard for me to get any of those awesome sounding spirits and liqueurs you have access to...
I bought this whiskey at the weekend I think it's awful. There's some flavour in there with the fruit, I don't know what it is but it's terrible.
That's a real shame that you didn't like it. Hopefully you can find a cocktail or mixed drink to use it so it doesn't go to waste more
