Thank you so much for your videos. They provide so much great insight. I will also be checking out the personal statement course!! Keep up all the amazing work!
Millie's personal statement next? I've signed up for St John's ambulance as a cadet ( no one told me about it since I was 14) and I don't think I'll get a spot till I'm 17. I know long term commitment is great : is there anything else I could do as a replacement? St John's is irreplaceable
Here’s a few things: 1. BSMS Virtual work Experience - Brighton and Sussex medical school has put together an incredible online package giving to an insight into the NHS which walks you through different medical specialities. 2. Observe GP - interactive video platform has been put together by the Royal College of GPs designed to give medical school applicants an insight into General Practice and primary care. 3. The NHS Explained Online Course - a free 8 hour online course by the King’s Fund giving you an insight into the structure of the NHS and challenges of working in the NHS. 1.Re-engage - a charity looking for volunteers to join their call companion service to provide some friendship to lonely and isolated older people 2.Covid-19 Mutual Aid - a service connecting people in the local area to help others who are more vulnerable or self-isolating. 3.The Sliver Line - a confidential helpline that provides advice, friendship and information to older people. They currently have an emergency appeal for volunteers. 4.Age UK - lots of different opportunities to volunteer to become a digital buddy, a campaigner or fundraiser for the Age UK charity.
Thank you for sharing this. My english is not good but to be honest I find this statment too exagerate maybe it's just my italian culture since I moved in UK 5 uears ago I found english people say "amazing, fantastic, etc" even for something not really excited , altough I think it looks pretty fake when I read statment like that maybe I"m wrong
I don't even know why I'm watching this. I'm already in my final year of med school and my personal statement consisted of my adress only because it was the formal requirement. I guess I wasn't the most enthusiastic student...
this is so random, but would there be any chance you could give me comments on my personal statement?!! I have my draft completed, but would really find some outside sources helpful!🌟
Lol I’m glad the 20 redrafts of this PS in 2011 have had impact beyond the application
Haha saving lives to changing lives 🥵🥳
Now, Ali please

Hi Dr. Shaene! Will you make videos about the interview process later on? I hope you do!
already out! 😄
Just say you did DoE and NCS and you'll get in
Lolll if only it were that simple
Is your personal statement masterclass only for people who are applying for medicine?.
The principles apply to every subject. I recommend watching the first 10 lessons and then the ones after the examples!
Doctor Shaene do you have any tips/ could you possibly dissect any dentistry personal statements ?

Would you recommend joining St John Ambulance if you want to study medicine in the future?
Any long term community based volunteering is great to do! eg st john's but also nursing home volunteering is great too
was Ali a student of kings College, London?
This is the video which I am looking for. Thanks a lot
Ahahah I can’t not click on this video... amazing
Thanks so much! 🙌
Doctor Shaene do you check Instagram DM?
Try my best to keep on top! I always reply though!
Wasn't the word limit 500?
How much of this applies to a natural sciences personal statement?
All of the principles apply! Just switch out medicine with natural sciences haha

I guess I wasn't the most enthusiastic student...
do you think it's worth going to uni this year (with corona going on), or am I better off starting in 2021
Tricky decision - all depends on if you got the place you wanted this year etc. I personally would start if it was longer than a year course
😎❤️🌞🌺🥀
