My family doctor approves the diet but only if I don't go under 40 gr of carbs a day. I have two autoimmune diseases (arthritis origin) and suffer from sleep apnea so I use a CPAP machine when I sleep. After 20 years on cortisone I gained 44 kg and became diabetic and acquired high blood pressure. In 2016 I stopped the cortisone because I contracted diabetes. I had a serious stomach operation because of tumours. I lost 35kg in two years due to a complete change of diet but I'd like to lose those extra 15 kg and improve my overall health situation. I'm 58 with several physical conditions that don't allow heavy exercise but I do swim and walk up to 5/8 km a day three times a week. I've been following and learning so much. @Israa Bashir thank you for the good wishes; alas, tahini is also high in oxalate.🥺 I love tahini, too. I’m eating a highly keto diet, mostly meat, with a few low-carb veggies here and there. Such as the asparagus, shallots and mushrooms I had for dinner this evening, and raw sauerkraut. A seed that doesn’t have a lot of oxalate is pumpkin seeds, particularly sprouted ones, which I buy at health food stores.
Very misleading chart. Why not do the math and use a reasonable serving size rather than the arbitrary 200 cal? I crunched some numbers and found some very different figures for cherry tomatoes. One site claims 1g of fructose in 1/2 cup. And Thomas said why bother to put them on a salad. Ridiculous.

Love the white board. Very beneficial to note taking, learning, and interest. Please use it more. Thank you very much.
I plan on it
Keep up the good work. Loving the whiteboard as I can screen shot it and refer to it later 👍.
Exactly!!
I love the whiteboard style! It's really helpful when I'm taking notes and might fall a little behind. Please keep them!
200 calories of cabbage is 7 cups or 2 pounds of cabbage! Who eats that!
I would die from "gas" with that much cabbage. LOL
I get scared when i saw cabbage, i eat cabbage but 100g or less or a little bit.
Glad to know about the amount, almost got a heart attack.
Well thats how much i eat per day
Very misleading chart.
Why not do the math and use a reasonable serving size rather than the arbitrary 200 cal?
I crunched some numbers and found some very different figures for cherry tomatoes. One site claims 1g of fructose in 1/2 cup. And Thomas said why bother to put them on a salad. Ridiculous.
Very misleading using 200 cal as reference. Should do a clarification for this. But everyone is worried about a whiteboard...
Yeah! This was a g rest video! I LOVE learning about what veggies do to & how they are good for our bodies!
And seeing it on the white board with fuzzing it until getting to the subject you're explaining is a great way to present!
Any way to read the subject at hand is helpful!
Can't thank you enough Thomas! You really save us an unfathomable amount of time in research and have helped us know how to choose to nourish our bodies better!!
Keep up with the white board!” Great way to demonstrate your message!” thank you
Your videos are perfect for curious people like me. Your detailed explanations about how food breaks down at the cellular level always makes me marvel at the power healthy food holds over us.
I’ll take my chances with my 6 cherry tomatoes in my salad thank you 🙄
You're playing on a fine thread there lady!
🤭🤭✊
@@DiaJasin hahahahah
To consume 200 calories of cherry tomatoes you would have to eat almost 4 cups!
It great to have a choice.
I really appreciate the whiteboard style videos. They keep everyone on track and easy to review what you have mentioned previously.
Thank you!
I would have liked to have heard a comparison of cooking vs raw for each veggie. You only mentioned it for the onions. Thanks, I like the whiteboard.
Onions are the big one
I love the white board. Please keep doing it. I love the way you break everything down.
I like the introduction of the detail on the whiteboard, it's great to mix things up a little.
How about watermelon. fresh cherries and kiwi fruits, how bad are they?
Not great
Google. you should do a video showing how people can do this research and math themselves...
DeLauer = great information. DeLauer + whiteboard = fantastic. Really helps to remember better when it’s all written out
I'm glad you like Boardy!
Yes, please keep the white board method of explaining things.
Thanks for the info I like the white board method easy to understand and great visual.
You're welcome!
Thomas DeLauer: vegetables are not good for you
Dan McDonald: hold my green juice..
Try my fasting box! It's empty! LOL
Shifted my lifstyle from crappy to awsome because of you now its my food . Thanks a ton man never felt better in my life
Hi Thomas! How's that Fasting going? I'm feeling great!
I have completed the First 24-hrs of the 72-hr Fast - I'm good (but, I've done 24-hr fasts before with no problem; a longer fast is new territory).
@@peterkizer6163 that's for sure,I have done 24-hr fast too,but this is challenging,18hr and 20 minutes remaining.
I LOVE the whiteboard. Being a visual and auditory learning, that whiteboard really helps drive information home for me! ☺
Keep the white board!
Excellent information, thank you. I love the whiteboard. I learn better with the combination of audio and visual. Plus, I can screen shot the final white board for quick reference later. Please keep doing these.
Love artichokes ! I grow my own. I thought they were high in calories so I haven’t been eating them
Calories aren't your enemy!
@@ThomasDeLauerOfficial Dr Eric Berg stated to avoid Artichokes because of the high carbs in this video: ua-cam.com/video/krfboRubpKU/v-deo.html. So, not sure what is right.
Love the white board makes learning about Keto easy and clear. Especially for beginners like me. Keep it up love your channel.
Great information Thomas! As always you do a good job explaining!
Love the whiteboard!! Thank you to all the awesome info!!!
I'm a little confused about Brussels Sprouts making it on the list. I thought they were high on carbs. 8g per serving of 1 cup.
4.5g net carb. They have fibre so that lowers the carb count.
Love the white board, makes it so much easier to remember what you said when it goes in the eyes as well as the ears. Also easy to refer back to.
Oooooohhh Veggies why torture us when we are fasting lol🥑🥦🌶
Love the white board. Great top tips. I prefer cauli to broccoli but didn't realise it was better for you for keto so happy days on that front. Please do more of this style of talk
I love cauliflower so much, especially Roasted. Just saying 😁
I love it
New to your channel. I'm getting a lot of good keto information. Keep it up! The whiteboard is definitely more helpful than naught; it allows me to scribble down the info so I'm more likely to use the info you present when making dietary choices. Thx!
Romaine Lettuce? Celery? Cucumbers?
YB E Exactly was wondering also as the only things my body can tolerate is Romaine lettuce and cucumbers!!
@@Schquirl funny about the cabbage I was eating a lot of it, not only was it really affecting my digestion but it stalled my weight loss. I almost can't tolerate any veggies without crazy stomach issues.
@@Schquirl OMG same here! I did raw vegan, juice fasting, colon cleansing colonics etc, and all the liver and gall bladder flushing only to be left with a major digestive problem for at least a year after. Basically did a lot of healing with GAPS. Then gained a ton of weight. Finally on keto was able to shed 85lbs and still losing. So happy on keto!
@@ybe7011 Wow that's amazing! How long did it take you?
I was doing the Keto diet for a month before I discovered I have "Chronic Pancreatic" so Keto is not best for me. But, I still watch your videos at times to help me learn about healthier options for some things.
Omg i was eating tons of tomatoes lately, had them witth every meal in the last month 😵😵
yea not giving up my maters lol
You're fine, stay under 5 whole tomatoes a day
@@JoshuaKevinPerry I have to have them in my salads..Salad is my go to food when I can't figure anything else out lol
I love you're teaching and the whiteboards too.
Everyone: I could never be vegan as it's soo restrictive.
Keto: Oh, you haven't seen nothin kid.
When Onions, tomatoes, cabbage and broccoli is not "healthy" enough for your diet, then you know you're in radical diet territory. I'm pretty much waiting for him to make a video about how air and sunlight is not keto enough...
😂😂😂
Lolololololololololol
🤣🤣🤣🤣😝😝😝
Thank you, I have been eating the wrong veggies. Your videos are awesome.!!!
WTF your making KETO harder and harder everyday with all these restrictions I can’t do just meat, but it would explained why blood sugars are higher than I think they will be sometimes thank you
Moderate your serving...don't eat 10 tomatoes in a day...don't eat 4 cups of onions in a day. Tbh, this video needs to be updated with sample sizes, not caloric..
Kelvliximab and you are your typical suck up type
And blessings to you Thomas for all the wonderful info you put out. I'm a big fan.
I give it 10 more minutes until the arguments over whether tomatoes are a fruit or veg start
I understand the factual argument claiming tomato to be a fruit, I may even call it a fruit too, but my heart knows the truth.
They are a berry.
Get bent.
Vegetable
Could just be an abomination of poison if it’s gmo 😱
Love the visual of the whiteboard! Thank you for all the great information.
Keep the white board please. Thanks for the video.
On my 2nd day fasting with you. Drinking water and Tulsi tea mixed with green tea, no sweeteners. -- not even stevia. Drank a small cup of ACV water with liquid plant-based minerals. Doing fine. Bought some cod fillets for tomorrow's dinner... fish and cauliflower in chicken broth... to break the fast. Busy as usual yesterday and today and surprised 😯 it has been so easy to fast (since 7 PM Saturday evening) with no hunger. Now, if I would only lose weight... still have 40 pounds to go. May need to fast until new year's! 😳🙄😶
I think the most frustrating thing about this channel is the constant double messages. I can refer you all to no less than 3 or 4 videos in which Thomas tells the viewers how great brocolli is and to go to town. Especially for its ability to flush out estrogen. Now we are to tread lightly?
Internet is full of contradictory facts these days.. I really don't care any more about things like this video any more. I eat a lot of these vegetables every day on keto diet and I have been doing great, with ideal body composition and health for a few years already. Experiment and find out what is good for you that is the only truth.
Thank you. I'm new to keto (3 months) . Doing well with weight loss and overall fitness. Blood sugars have stabilized and showing moderate to large ketones in urine. I eat onions daily. 1/8 of a cup sautéed with bok choy or in my salad.
Thanks for the whiteboard. I find it’s easier to remember once I read something 👍🏼
