It seems like everything in this universe is scaled down, yet their rocket technology is weak and incredibly inefficient, thus you need seventeen stages to do something that our shuttle could do with two SRBs and a large fuel tank.
@@jamman3921 actually, it's both. KSP's physics engine allows you to use rocket engines as mass drivers: if you place a free object next to an engine and fire it (even for a very short period, gaining very little velocity), said free object will be hurled in the other direction.

At launch, I maybe got 1-2 frames per second; It was so low that the sound actually cut out between frames. Because of this, it took almost an hour to reach orbit.
@Clonos: Your computer must be an absolute potato. My MacBook Air averages 20 FPS, at native resolution (1440 x 900), with all of the graphics options turned all the way up. Of course, I would never even consider building something like the monstrosity featured in this video. ;-)

@@martinkacmar2063 It’s not impossible, just very challenging. SRBs can be fine-tuned in the VAB using thrust limiter and the amount of fuel.

How recently have you played KSP? Prior to 1.1, landing legs used to be fairly flimsy but after the update they are now surprisingly strong.
