Exactly what i needed, thanks, Sweden.
Hey man thanks for putting this video up. I was just trying to learn what each paint did and you did a great job of that!
Good streamlined video. I also liked that you used a zombie to demonstrate the shade, to make it look alive.
You learned me everything i needed
Now my miniatures are buetiful
I'm glad I helped :D
A few years ago
I just basecoated the model
But now i use shades and layers and it works fantastic!
(Cause of your help 😉)
"You learned me.." what? you mean "you taught me?"
Srry im from begium my english is not that good
+Victor Desmit at least it's better than Frenchmen.
I started with necrons so it wasnt that hard to get them a decent look (basecoat -> base metallic -> shading) but now that I am getting Dark Vengeance I think things will get a bit more complicated, your tutorial is of great help.
Really appreciate this video, thank you
Very good video! Well explained in 10 minutes how to use the Citadel paints. Clear and short text instead of tons of words. Keep up! :)
Thank you mate. This video is super valuable
Good vid for people new to these paints, still good to watch for us experienced folk :)
Thank you for this video, I will definitely be getting some Glazes
Really helpful. Good job and thanks so much
Thanks man, now I know what types of paints I need from citadel, however I still don't know what proper color yet...
Thank you! I appreciate the video as it was very informative.
Awesome Tutorial. Im off to paint! Thanks!
Very helpful vid, thanks.
Noice this will be helpful
nice tutorial
Nice work on the models there, especially the marine but boy do GW know how to make money, I have issues with GW.
Very good vid, I already knew alot of these things, but I still think I learned from your explanations and tips. Just one thing I noticed I want to share with you, you really should wait until All shading has dried before layering, otherwise it might mix up and get warped.
Tack för videon!. :)
Bara nyfiken, vilka spel/arméer lirar du mest?
Very nice video! Great for starters!
There is an app for Smartphones called "WarPaint". Not sure if its available for iPhones but it is available at the Google Play Store. It shows up to three paints, the original paint you might be using and two compatible. The available brands are New Citadel, Old Citadel, Vallejo Game Color, Vallejo Model Color, Vallejo Model Air, Reaper Master, Privateer Press P3, Army Painter and Coat d' Arms.
Looks interesting, will check that out!
Strange, although the paint seems to be slapped on heavily, this looks very good
I would recommend using a far smaller brush the next time you use the layer paints. So much paint was getting put on to that ghoul it was a little sickening.
Hmm, I'd say it's smarter to take care of your brush, so that it keeps its' tip. Bigger brushes have larger reservoirs, ergo much longer time to work with the brush before it dries up on you.
thx for the video, very useful
Thanks for that mate, I've never used Citadel Paints, I must try them someday...all the best to ya...Pete...
Thank you :D
i'm sorry but how can you work with those brushes
so did he got new brushes?
She
this vid's been really helpful :D
never really understood the difference between base and layer(used them both as base colours, mainly to give a wide range of green for my O&G) and I've always been skeptical about shaders/dry paints, but now I'm convinced to use them for my future Stormcast Eternals
Julius Rutgers Glad I could help :D
Hello, thanks for the video, do you happen to know where I can buy 1/6 scale figure models or even just heads to paint? I cant find any to buy only ones people have made.
Those brushes, holy shit
Thanks for the info
5/5 stars great job!!
Nice vid and channel . Subbed :)
thank you Norway
Citadel, The NorthFace Jacket of Paints.
help alot !!
Good overview!
Hello fro. The future. Thank you for the help
How does one thin the citadel base coats? There isnt much room in the tubs for water...could I dip my brush in water before dabbing it in the little paint scoop on the lid?
Thin. Your. Paints. 2 thin coats can do what one thick one can’t
The finishing was like, wow, he really dont care about that zombie model or whatever haha! Im a dark eldar 1500strong army but suck vs korne >_
Great video just what i was looking for someone toshow how all the paints used so thank you , the one you mention edge paint what is that for ? i am new to painting this way and every bit of info help as my models will hopefully better the more i learn :)
fuck the haters, this video helped me a lot. Thanks bro
You really just slop it all on there, don't you? Turns out surprisingly good though and it's FAST. I'm almost jealous, each one takes me 4+ hours.
Thank you! Discover texture paint for me)
Great job, very helpful vid!
Question - is there really point in purchasing Citadel brushes or your regular brushes for your kid to buy for school are good enough?
thanks!
I've been out of the scene for a few years now, but when did Citadel start introducing all these "ranges"? It used to be just one huge collection of paints.
Still, you do put them to good effect.
Holy ass TeknoAxe needs to tune their guitars.
Anyone know the name of the model goblin in the aircraft?
Thx :)
Can I just mix my base paints and thin with water or do I have to invest more money . I have returned to this after 20 years
So, the shades are like the old inks and washes? What shade is the same as the old flesh wash? Is there one that works like scorched brown? I used to make a wash with flesh wash, a bit of scorched brown, and sometimes some chaos black if I wanted it a darker color. Is there a specific shade that is the same thing in one pot?
too much shade, pooling
you really need some new brushes! #justsayin
Would you recommend using the bone paint bundle for some chaos space marines? It popped up in the 'recommended paints' section, so I'm guessing it would work.
nice video dude! hey where can i get the third track?
Hi
Whats brushes did you use ? Thx
Yeah, GW is pretty expensive but nice models and paints :)
Yeah, they are pretty good but expensive :D
How about the " layer " type?
all the tags on your video...halo? really?
the music is pretty great. what are the originals called?
i bought a dry skin tone not realising, is there anything you can do to it to get it to airbrush?
So, I haven't really seen any discussion on this topic, but what happens if you mixed a metallic (like runefang steel) and a colour paint (like calgar blue) would I get a metallic blue if I mixed both together?
+Gunny 501 To get metallic blue you'd first paint the model in metallic, then once it's dry put a glaze paint over it (guilliman blue). You can make your own glaze paints by mixing a regular blue like ultramarine with lahmian medium like 1:2 or even 1:3
helpful. thanks!!
Meanwhile, every time I use a base paint the color comes out looking dry and flat; how the hell do I get it to look as good as that!?
And yes, I dip it the tiniest bit in water.
Can you put black shade on a white unit
yes, but re-layering the white overtop is hard, lots of building up to white
Thanks but you forgot technical paint
I know, I didn't have any and most technical paints wasn't released when I made this video
Är dem nya games workshop färgerna bra? =)
What is the meaning of using shade if you are layer it with w color as thick as base paint ?
FraGNet0 3 years late, but shade paints cling to the recesses of the model to make the places that are meant to be in shadows appear darker, adding contrast.
Just a question:
I shake my non-metallic citadel paints to mix them, and i tried the same to the metallic paints but they don't seem to mix.
How do I mix the metallic paints?
I use a toothpick. I think a match would do the job too.
either a toothpick or you put very small balls of metal or little stones in it and then shake. The actual particles of paint are quite heavy in some paints and the solution aroud it too thick to mix on their own with just shaking with nothing to cuase some sort of mechanic in it (a dough wouldnt mix by shaking either).
can someone tell me why the layers just dont have such a good finish on my models?
Did u ever figure it out?
Do you mix with water?
is this also warhammer paint because i searched warhammer paint and this popped up
If it is a question, yes it is the new warhammer paint
Citadel makes the paint for games workshop which owns Warhammer.
I put texture paint on my model like a doofus. Should have watched this first.
It's not just the price, it's the duplicity. Why is there a 'dry' paint fir dry brushing and their washes, you get the same effect by just adding lots of water. The whole thing about trying to copyright the term 'space marine' is pure greed.
You're not thining your paints
Those brushes and paints look really in poor condition. Your technique is not too bad, but keep practicing and learning. Thanks for posting this video for another example of painting figures.
Learn before coach please.
Why do you even bother with a brush as thickly as you're dumping that paint on?
It would easier if you just dipped the miniatures into the pots.
You'd probably get the same results and could bury those poor dead brushes!
Thank you :)
