Looks like an old Grist Mill, the tunnel he was in, was a water return after the water had gone through the plant turning the grist wheel. that's why it appeared to have caved in at the end, when the mill was leveled they dumped trash down the hole to fill it in... Good vid I loved the door remarks... :) I know this video is several years old but had to make comment about what the tunnel was since I didn't see anyone else note it. not enough water to run hydro-electric .
You should bring your kayak and meet us at Falls Reservoir at Badin Saturday, unless it's flooded from hurricane Michael. There are bypass tunnels at the Narrows Dam. I understand you can paddle several hundred yards up inside. These tunnels, like you found in this video, were used to divert water in order to build dams. Sometimes they remain flooded. I do enjoy your videos, your sense of humor and thank you for sharing your Christian Values.
What a well preserved dam most of the time everything is gone!. The tunnel was for diverting the river during construction and then filled in. There should be a trench leading up to the point where you stopped. with all the work it took there has to be relics around.

So, what do you think about keeping a hip bag in your truck a flashlight, 25ft of 550 cord, a quality pocket knife (you've only found about 100 of them), water bottle, and mini 1st aid kit. Take it every time you leave your truck and you will never have to " ...go back to the truck and get a flashlight" or whatever. Might save you some time for more fun. Keep it up. Love it. God Bless.

I know you're used to exploring and stuff, and even though you changed into boots, it was so dangerous walking around damp rocks like that in flip flops. We have a waterfall really close to where I live and a guy I know was wearing flip flops and slipped on rocks that didn't even look wet. He ended up breaking three ribs and fractured his right elbow and two vertebra in his neck. All it takes is one wrong step or quick slip and you can get REALLY messed up! But keep up the good videos and be careful out there. :) Man... if you had a meth or crack detector there's no telling what you'd find in a sketchy tunnel like that. Haha
