You can hear him pouring his energy out until everyone in the room has to stop talking. Just to listen to him. And in the end when he has their attention, he delivers the last line with assurance, knowing he got everyone hooked on every word

@@saqib7965 I'm a huge Kanye fan but you're not entirely correct here. Graduation was the album that marked the end of gangster raps prominence in hop hop due to the whole sales battle between him and 50 cent.
You're right about 808s, but you could also mention Travis Scott being directly influenced as well.
MBDTF is a masterpiece, and it laid the foundation of other albums like channel orange, good kid MAAD city and take care.

Y'all gotta understand that for many years Ye had to fight for respect as a rapper. He was only looked at as a producer, thats it. They didn't want him to rap. But he kept at it and eventually showed everyone that he was the first REAL producer who could not only rap, but entertain.

@beep boop you clearly either weren't alive back then or paying attention. What Ye did was a first of his kind. Of course he wasn't the very first producer to rap on a track, he was the first one to make a successful ALBUM. Not 1 song, not 2 songs. AN ALBUM. With RADIO HITS. That was UNHEARDOF at that point in time and Ye specifically was told by MANY ppl to quit rapping. Again, you either weren't alive or weren't paying attention back then.

Young heads might not realize it now, but Ye’s early raps being on par with Mos’ is a feat in itself.
I was a freshman in high school when The College Dropout released and I was telling all of my friends Ye was the next dude. Funny as hell, erratic, made his own beats with super soulful samples, had been making beats for Rocafella for years by that point, could hold his own rapping (and at times out-rapped) Mos, Talib and HOV. Into fashion (I fancied myself a snappy dresser, which was not something all younger dudes were into back then). I had no idea he’d become what we see today. I just thought he was dope.

I got teared up when this scene came up in the series .. i was thinking how can a so passionate guy with this much talent didn’t getting his shot …. U can see in his flow all that pent up energy….old kanye want to prove himself, u can listen to old songs like ( can’t tell me nothing) n now he is more passionate about fashion design and all that other stuff n I’m so happy for him … that’s a true artist he contributed what he want to weather its producing or rap and now something else he kept creating new levels ..

I just have a different level of respect for this young man! He worked Hard to get everything he has, even when all the doors were closed and not to many people believed in him, he still grinned! His mother spoke so love and encouragement into his life, I wish she was here to see him and to continue encouraging him, I think he needs her now! Great job on this documentary❤️❤️❤️

Amazing will be an understatement for this documentary, I thought I knew who Kanye is until I watched this. We have been "getting to know" him through the eyes of the media and we were sold a dummy. This is a humble guy who struggled to make it, and her mother was a sweet motherly humble woman who was his pillar for sure. This is the Kanye we didn't know at all.I will never look at him the same. INCREDIBLE
