- In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 1995 Buick Skylark V6. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
The Skylark is really cool looking. It's very similar to the Oldsmobile Achieva and the Pontiac Grand Am. I miss the 90s and early 2000s vehicles.
i have a 98 olds achivea sl
My mom had an achievable but then sadly my dad crashed it
I've always liked the styling of these. Very unique for sure. My friend had one that was previously his grandparents back in the early 2000's when we were in High School. His was silver with a gray interior. The seats were comfy from what I can remember & it was pretty fast, especially compared to my then 1995 Ford Escort LX Wagon which was downright underpowered.
I just bought that car and i'm super happy about it :D It's a big thing for me because i live in Germany and it's an import car. Finally i don't have to drive those boring german cars anymore x3
i used to own one. definietly not boring compared to those german cars. in the 4 years i had it i never saw another one on the road. very unique. i absolutely loved that car
U are happy as this xar
Thumbs up if you're still watching in 2024
+Dominic Bradley its actually 2016 pal

+Draven Guinn thumbs up if you're watching in 2046
I actually like the styling of this car
I swear I'm the only one that likes burgundy interior lol
Mitch Jackson nope
Reminds of thrift store
Now that is a daily driver I could really enjoy.
I love the design of these cars. I know many people think they are ugly, but I have a lot of love for uniquely designed cars. As well as a lot of respect for companies willing to take the risk to be different. These cars, the Nissan Juke (not the Cube, the Cube is to weird even for me) the Smart Fortwo (which I have a 2010) and even the Pontiac Aztek are all cars I enjoy to look at and have a lot or respect for. Even if some of them ultimately failed.
This car screams "90's rental car"
my aunt had one of these cars when I was little, in purple. Fun little car. Took us on lots of road trips.
I remember starting off in 95 at GM and driving these N bodies. Skylark GS but a couple of fun one's we had were an Achieva coupe 5 speed with the HO quad 4 and Grand AM GT 5 speed, HO Quad 4 5 speed. Most dealers these were hard to find but being test vehicles built specifically for GM engineering rarities were around. I never liked the appearance of the 4 door Achieva's or Skylark's though. Skylark esp. The dash was goofy as hell and the front looked like a locomotive cow catcher. 4 door Grand Am's were tolerable. Miss those days sometimes though. Don't ya love GM's passive restraint system? Easy fix for GM to get around the government regulation by just attaching it to the door and having it belted, so one could slide in and slide out without unbuckling. But NOBODY kept these things belted. Also I find it more of a danger in a side impact collision if the door opens.
I was able to use this video to verify that a private seller is in fact offering a '94 skylark, rather than the claimed '95. Thank you for such an in-depth analysis!
Those seats look so damn comfy
Those little Buicks are kinda cool...They were Buicks base model and for a 1992 new car design their design has held its lines fairy well. A box with 4 wheels makes me yawn...lol
I don’t know why, but I find the cloth color gorgeous
Had one for 13years, no issues.
I love the 90's cars, nice and comfortable, just enough technology but not too much. The cars today Is like getting Into a space ship and I don't like that.
JayZPimpin101 .
I like the cars from the 90's too. My dad had a 1996 chevy cavelier which lasted a long time. Today's cars are not built the way they were built back then. Cars today do have a lot of technology in them which is a distraction.
Yeah they're built much better lol...
i love evreything about it exept that exhaust it needs to be patched
I always loved this Buick.
I work as an auto tech for 8 years. I have lost track of how many of those gaskets i have changed. GM made them out of plastic and they always break at the coolant passages most of the time leaking externally, but I have seen a few leak internally that is not pretty sight. The aftermarket is now making them out of metal, and it has solved the issue.
i love those seats they look so comfy
This car actually look nice
Fishwagon22
That what I think. Looks unique.
i actually like when you leave the lights on when you turn off the car, shows another feature a car has
the interiour color is so sexy i want it!!!
I think that car has a nice interior, I like the color of it.
I bought one in almost perfect condition. It had 169k and only needed a new paint job. It was my first car as a high-schooler. It was perfect, drove smoothly, easy to find parts and small so I could park! (that I live in CA) however, exactly a week after I got it, a girl ran into the back of it when it was parked on the street going 55mph. For that bad of a wreck that car held together and was compressed really well. But it's totaled so now I need to find another car :(
Love the looks of this car. Wish Buick didn't remove the emblem from the grill in subsequent years though.
My sister had a 1992 Skylark. My brother totaled it. I was pretty thrilled it was gone!
Sounds good, shows strenght and has that iconic exuberant american way of 80s and 90s in which to be different from Europe was something really important.
Despite not being the best example of an American car, since they're so rare in Europe, they become eye-catchers whenever they come around.
My Mom has a 66 navy blue Skylark coupe..so pretty. Love your reviews.
80's and 1990's cars and truck were GREAT vehicles
Yes! I remeber this red vomit interior in many a friends car/truck in HS.
Curious car!
My friend has one just like that, but blue, it's the only one here in Brazil!
Buicks were and still continue today to be one of the best cars on the road. I'd say, as far as reliability goes, Toyota is the only manufacturer that has Buick beat.
I wanted one of these cars so bad when I was a kid, no reason just being a kid who was into cars and thought the front end looked sweet
Welcome to America.....thats one reason why i love those unfamous 80s / 90s FWD US cars....of course it´s not efficent, but GM´s 2.8 / 3.1 or Chrysler´s 3.3 / 3.8 V6 engines are great....treat them right and they´ll run a looong time...
I really like this. interior is weird, but not boring. Dynaride on this is great. a compact car that rides smoothly
i see a lot of those still, but almost all are beaten to a pulp. this one is one of the few that have been taken car of.
I love how Kyle doesn't just do the more desirable cars. Most people would not do cars like these, just to get more views. Just look at the UK Top Gear, all they do now is sports cars and exotics.
I like old Buick's they aren't sporty or amazingly built but have a charm when you in one. That's what I think.
Damn, that car is flawless, lol. Looks brand new.
@MangoSmoothie16 Yes, I do concur with you and it's really a revolution for GM. The newer Buick cars are really good. The La cross is great!
Great video as always Kyle! What a nice car!
What's funny about these 90's Buicks is that they had burgundy everything on the interior but somebody had the idea to make the steering wheel black out of nowhere.
I think I saw a Cadillac Allante in the background. You should do a video of that because you don't see many of those around. You barely see any of these Skylarks around anymore, especially with as few miles as this one has. It seems to have been well taken care of.
the 1992-1998 Buick Skylark was assembled in
Lansing, Michigan
this looks like a perfect car for a student
God that car is hideous inside and out lol! Looks like some 'car from the future' concept from the 70s especially with that velour interior. Interesting choice for a tour though, makes Kyle's videos more interesting. Keep up the great work!
This 95 Skylark is a seriously beautiful old school Buick compact, fender skirts and all, but why on earth did they put the seatbelts on the doors? I'm aware that it was a pretty common practice in the 80s, but this is the newest car I've ever seen with them, and it seems like they could be very dangerous in the event of a crash.. On a side note, I'm in love with the curvy, two tone red and black interior. They sure don't make them like that no more... ):
Wow this car is so strange. I've seen them around but I've never really looked at them (so thanks for that Kyle!). The styling is interesting and the interior is sort of strange. I also think it's weird that the seatbelts are mounted on the doors. The condition of the car is impressive though. Keep it up!
that interior is a riot :)
WOW you have the Ford Tourneo Connect in USA, i didn't know it
By the way, Fantastic car to review, it's quite intersting hehe
11 years ago... I wonder if this car is still on the road or sitting in a junkyard or already crushed
Damn this thing is beautiful I would love to have one
I just bought one lol
@davey3710 I'll never know for sure but it's possible it's still around .. maybe it got lucky and was bought by someone who preserved it.. at least I hope so lol
Niiccee skylark! Dynaride is the shit too, my gpa had a 92 roadmaster with it that was UNBELIEVABLY smooth! Loved it!
You should totally do that awesome 4Runner at 2:19.
kyle you should buy this car to add to your car collection :)
wow, buik has come a LONG way! ;D
Great shape for being 16 years old.
Thanks for doing this car! Always wanted to see the inside of one.
I once regarded the car's styling as weird, but since then (due to the large number of boring looking, -or its opposite- overaggressive late model designs) I've changed my opinion: I look at it as a practical car with a conservative, but charming look. With the bulletproof 3.1 V6 engine, it is reliable and economical also.
i love thing generation of Skylark. they seem to be rare around here.
I’ve always liked this body style.
Some Guy So, by my one random comment on a UA-cam page, with one car, you have determined my entire outlook on my taste of cars. That’s amazing.
And by amazing, I mean completely ridiculous.

@sheersoxNC the seats are shockingly comfterble.
0:27 OH THAT DAMN PT CRUISER ILY
My dad had one a few years back but his was a 93 the interior was gray and the car color is silver and over head storage consul had lights on it
Gotta love the older Buicks :D
So i see either Grandma died or went to the Nursing home.
Nice to see one of the cars that led to GM's failure.
Ohh Nice! I Have a 1985 Buick Skylark
Love the dash, great style.
@TheGangstalouie why?, you talking about that little hole in teh bottom where hte condensation was coming out?, thats normal, muffler didnt sound blown/busted
this has to be the ultimate pimp mobile
The front fascia is abit polarizing....but the rear kind of looks roadmasterish....overall a cool car.
I've always liked these things.
One of my college buddies has one and its the biggest pos ive ever driven.
that in good shape for its age
This has a column shifter? I always thought Skylarks in '95 had floor shifters. Anyway, that is beautiful little Buick. Looks like a junior sized Park Avenue.
Any chance for a 1st gen Chrysler van, or Mazda MPV's?
@yamahonkawazuki motivate then, what appeals in this car? Why would i want this before any other used car in its price range?
That car is soooo nice. Love the red interior! :D
Checking one out tomorrow. It's a 96 skylark with 81,000 miles. Needs an O2 sensor
Nice car!
Love this, unique looking
@JimmyPannawong The new Regal GS is pretty sweet.... even though its a holden.... Looks good, buick luxury, pretty quick. I think they have a future
I have a '67 Skylark and damn does that thing haul ass.
@FH99 He has a video on that Allante already.
36K miles, mint condition and 16 years old? Now that's unheard of! Whoever owned this had to have garaged it since new; mother nature can be very unforgiving on a car's exterior, like on the paint, even if you take very good care of it.
I have a 1996 buick skylark limited
UPDT: it has been scrapped.
Those are exctinct, I don't remember last time I saw one on the road
why is the horn button not on the steering wheel??
8:46 to 8:50 is funny because of the panicking chime lol.
One of my former schoolmates has one of these! But its a 2 door and he has aftermarket rims on his, lol.
Hey everybody, how's it goin? Today, I bring you the 1995 POS. And this is going to be a full indepth tour of the POS...........
My mom had one of these around the turn of the 2000s, I think it was a 93, a Custom with the V6, had a lot of problems with it, unfortunately. I'm not sure GM ever had much luck with any V6 smaller than 3.5 liters.
I Like This Car But His Front Have A Look Like: "End Me Plz I'm Not The 53 Skylark" XD
I think the interior is interesting, a little odd but interesting.
Whatever you think of the model, it still looks like it's in mint condition. Too bad they used cheap Korean-like plastic for the dash and inner door panels.
yOU GOTTA DO MORE TEST DRIVES!
I lol'd when he said performance data.
