  • In this session, I've taken the local colours and painted them on a toilet roll. Why? Becasue it's a much simpler form than the apple. Doing a painting of this toilet roll will allow me to show you how Munsell can help you find the right colours for light and shadow on a form to make it look convincing. It's also a briliiant exercise!

I love what he said about knowledge. I spend hundreds of hours watching color theory videos and studying about it and once I got my hands on the pants. It really helped people told me I was talented and I said it's not talent. It's time into learning about color theory. It makes a big difference. Good for me anyways. And I learned so much from Paul Foxton and mark Carter and many other Paul Foxton is definitely 1ofmyfavorites ❤

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, it builds up in stages so by the end you're bsically just putting the pieces together. Painting "real" subjects works in the same way.

From the screen of my computer I see the high light of bottom lower red part expands to middle lower part, it is not shown in your painting though. Your conscious choice?

    • @PaulFoxton

Not really, I'm not generally as concerned about a perfect copy as I am about creating a feeling of form and depth, and the basic principles that will get me there. I think actually the red paint isn't completely opaque at the bottom, and that creates the value change. Well spotted, though!

Hi Paul, thanks for time and knowledge you share with every body, about argument hight chroma in in most facing surface on light and less on halftones you Spoke...Is It possibile other Artist Say the contrary because do they speak about light and chroma conceptually? With aim to create volume? and your argument Is on optical argument? Best

Mostly Cornelissen hogs, and a few soft synthetics - usually Winsor and Newton Scepter Gold.
