Enjoyed your user friendly explanation of the differences between come and place. If I can find a $5 table, I will bet $10 on the pass line, take double odds and get two $5 come bets up with triple odds. I am hurt less on the come bet , and protected on the pass line come out. Sure, if a seven comes up after the point is made, you could lay off the odds till the first come is established. I always stack the come outs, put one or two on any craps, and use the parlay for odds. On a $10 table, I even up the pass and come to minimums, and when I hit a come bet, convert that number, say a 6, from 10 and 10, to 18 to place. Then I have options. Hope the thinking is clear. Keep em comin.
the come bettor was more involved in game had to keep adding odds ....taking bets back and forth throught the box.......place bettior laid money out had a beer and relaxed as a good roll happened

The problem in this example is you said in Part 1 that it's only beneficial if the Come bettor make high odds bets. Had you done that, I'm thinking the Come bettor would have won closer to what the Place bettor did, if not a lot more.

Frequently a place bettor who is not playing the pass line will have the place bets working on come out. They would have won several of those come out rolls on working place bets.
Sam U I just set the rules for this video example to be one place bet followed by only 2 come bets...it’s very common for players to stop after getting 3 points working...you certainly could continue making come bets. Thanks for watching and the question!
So from what I see and what little personal experience i have, it seems if you have a larger bankroll play the come, if you have a smaller bankroll place the numbers.
Have you done a Crapless Craps video yet? These Come and Pass strategies are just about the only choices on that game as well other than the Pass and I think they have all the same prop bets too. But the overall house advantage of Crapless Craps is supposed to be up in the 7 percentile I heard. Worse than Roulette.
I have not, just because I don't have a way to explain without the layout...the pass line edge is 5.4% and you can get down to 2% or under if you are adding odds, but i wouldn't want to be betting more money when the point is 2,3,11,or 12 yikes. I would probably just stick to inside number place betting strategies on a crapless craps table.
Yes I was thinking the same thing, inside Place bets mostly and if they have Hop 7, utilize that after so many rolls by the shooter, say 4th roll put out $30 to cover the Place bet losses and create a profit. If they hit another number, double Hop 7 to $60 and so forth, always calculating to win enough on Hop 7 to cover the previous Hop 7 loss and all losses on Place. In other words I think I would incorporate a heavy Hop 7 play strategy on Crapless Craps.
You should honestly start doing videos where you pitch different strategies you've shown in the past with similar risk against each other and see which one ends up winning or losing more at the end of "x" amount of shooters
Total random question only. I notice that when you lay odds on many videos and then win...you consider the odds you laid and the payouts as winnings. Is this just a personal preference? I started doing this myself thinking if I put it on the table and was able to take it back without the casino getting it, I should call it a win! haha.
Dennis Shaw well I typically use a money management style of playing through my bankroll, and anything I “win” gets put aside in another rack. After I have gone thru the bankroll, I can then decide if I want to play thru the money again depending on if I’m up or down from where I started
Good video, I think a better comparison would have been to have 1 pass and 3 come bets with single odds. When a come bet would win, you would pay out on three units vs the 2 units on the place bets. Another comparison could be 3 place bets with 3 units each, and the way you played the pass with 2 comes. Either way the house wins statistically, but I prefer the place bets personally these days.
Route 66 limit for 4/10 buy for free is $25 anything more you have to pay the Vig. Harrah's Laughlin will allow $75 4/10 buy for only $1 dollar Vig which is a nice benefit too. Sorry carry on my friend we are supposed to be talking about Come/Place
I don't think he was keeping his money racked correctly. There for he didn't have a correct count when he finished. Place bets would have a better total because he has to hit a come twice at the start in order to be paid. IMO that you place and come when available then place is down, come with odds to the come bet

Come bets have to be brought down off the number and paid out on a win, so no, UNLESS you have another bet in the come. This new come bet would replace the number that just won, and you could then add more odds.
I thought when there is a point established your pass line bet is the only place you can bet on the established point. In the video there is money on the pass line and money on the point. Every time I’ve played, and my place bets are off. When the point is established like 6. If I have Money on the 6 the dealer will ask me where I want to move my money off the 6 and usually it will go to the 8
The dealer will usually ask if you like to move, because most players have the point already covered with the pass line. You do not have to move. If you didn’t make a pass line bet, don’t move. If you do have a pass line bet, the best option is to have the place bet returned to you and use as odds or move to different number. But it can stay where it is.
Say......what are your thoughts on hedging with $1.00 chips on the 2, 3 & 12 in the horn and working during the come out? I sometimes do crap checks but the horn numbers pay better odds.
Well the the math is not in your favor with any of the prop bets, and it is technically better to just "self insure" instead of hedging, but when it works out and you are using a hedge, you are glad you did. Play the way you are comfortable with and good luck on coloring up.

This is where come betting pays off vs. place betting, and you didn't really show that. We've all been at a cold table where you get killed by early 7 after early 7.

Eric Boyles I don’t. 32 ways to lose vs 4 ways to win so odds are 8:1 but they only pay 7:1 which equals an 11% house edge...pretty high. So for every $7 you win it will cost you $8.(in theory) That being said, its only $1 to protect your pass line bet, so if you like the comfort/security, go ahead. Odds are just theory, if a lot of craps are being rolled on come outs for your session then it would be a good bet.
Why wouldn't you continuing following up with a come bet? Your not maximizing your bets by stopping at two numbers, you missed several payouts in your example because you didn't follow up with another come bet.
There's hardly any 7's in those dice. Either method would be great the way that table is kicking off numbers. The thing with the come bets with odds is the amount you win is so much greater then the place bet wins. But the hit you take on the 7-out is quite large if you fail to hit any of them prior. I'd rather place bet, come betting is just too damn scary: plus if you don't start winning in the beginning you will be out close to $200 quite easily. I mean being a wrong bettor, we look at it quite differently. It will only take a few of those come bet set ups(odds included) to get a 7-out call and you will be down A LOT. I'm guessing you will get wiped out at least 3 times in succession (very possibly 4 times) over the course of say 6 hours. I don't like it. Don't ever forget every time you see a craps or a yo..there is one more number that you possibly would of gotten paid on BUT it's on the side of the dice! The craps and yo's PREVENT the box numbers from appearing. Over time they really are the wrong bettors best friend, besides the 7 of course. If your come bet is always equal to the total money in play, You will never loose any money because 7 beaks you out for even. You keep the previous.place come wins.
I don’t think this is a truly accurate representation of a come bet player. I’m not going to go into any of the hedging stuff, but for a basic strategy there are two key elements missing. First, most come bet players do not play only double odds. The whole point of playing the come is to take advantage of max odds, otherwise you might as well just place bets. Most casinos pay 3,4,5x odds nowadays, so most come bettors would bet at least 3-4x odds minimum. Second, most come players such as myself will place a 6 & 8 bet after a point is established unless one of those is the point. Why? I don’t want to lose out on a quick 6 or 8 after the come out, and if one does, I will take my winnings and add those to my placed bet to then “come down with offs” to my come bet. So if you had followed just those small changes during your live roll, the come bettor would have made far more money than the place bettor.
You were all over the place with the come and pass bank roll. You grabbed from the pass for the come bets, or you would pay the pass bets into the come bank, so there was no accuracy in this at all to determine if one is better than the other. Rewatch and you'll see. I know playing for 2 people is difficult so I would recommend deleting this video and try again but label your bank roll to eliminate confusing yourself. Its was alllll over the place. Love the videos though.

Agree. At 7:48 is an example for a "Place" bettor winning the pass line because the point hit. But you take the pass line winnings and put it in the "Come" bettor rack. This also happens multiple times in the videos where you take chips from the wrong bankroll as well.

You might be right, there just isn't a perfect comparison. Lately I have been place betting more as well.

I don’t remember the video, but only the shooter is required to make a line bet. So many place betters bypass the pass line

A Buy bet is the same as a Place bet except you get paid true odds minus a 5% commission.

Nice explanation in part 1 and good roll in this part. You did roll 5 1 6 but bumped the 5 to 6 making it appear 6 1 7.
