I really like the look of the alien baby that leaves its mech when it's brain and butt are throbbing. That's a nice design. Great video, as always.

100% my favorite part about your channel is your addition of old commercials. That is so unique and mood setting. I sadly don't remember these commercials from my childhood, but I love them now. I blame ADHD. :)

The thing that got my attention about this game was how big the sprites were which was just mentioned after I finished the comment, the Same guy who created astyanax also did legendary ax which has the same stamina bar mechanic
Great in-depth review. I played this last week and enjoyed it but found the hit detection and heavy sprite feel while jumping a bit jarring. Still enjoyed it though.
My attack also gets stronger as my meter grows.

As a boy, I always pronounced it "ass-tee-an-axe", and I pronounced Jaleco as "jail-eke-oh".

So, if it has nothing to do with Greek mythology, why is the hero named Astyanax? Weird :) It looks and sounds like it has some major issues. No wonder my local game store has it for $5. Infinite continue is a nice touch though. Lots of interesting info. Thanks!

@@NESFriend Thanks! I think I will. I'm more of a quantity vs quality guy who would rather have several decent games in my NES and SNES library than just a select few expensive ones. I like to check videos like this one to make sure that the budget friendly titles aren't a total hot mess to try to play.
