I bought a few courses a year ago. They were about $8.00 each. How incredibly stupid of them to butcher their reputation like this. It's a shame since they have amazing artists and teachers who make great educational content. The classes market for themselves. They really need to get their act together and fix this.
This is still going on, I hate that it’s not getting any media coverage. And Domestika is very quick to silence any critics on social media so potential customers aren’t aware. Many UA-cam content creators are Domestika affiliates so they don’t let you comment about the scam on their videos.

I just bought a new course a few days ago, and CAUGHT this before I hit "buy"; they had added the yearly membership on there, with the $0.00 intro" fee. I saw there was a trash can next to it, so I deleted it, and only got charged for the single class. So, if you aren't paying attention to "opt out" of that and delete it, you'll get charged. That is a REALLY bad way to do business, and I'm not sure how they thought by tricking customers like that it would be a good idea, and that somehow people wouldn't notice. This is clearly something new they've done, because the courses I bought a few months ago didn't have this option show up.
@@sonyaj66 I'm very disappointed that Domestika decided to become scammers. I wonder if there was a changeover in the running of this company in recent months. I won't be buying from them again that's for sure.

If I cancel my subscription but they still tell me I have access to plus courses for a month do they still charge me for the whole year and how to make sure that does not happen please help 🙏🏻
Very sneaky of them. It looks like now they've added wording below the price (discounted amount) saying "Promotion subject to Plus subscription". Don't know if this shows for everyone. You can't buy an individual course for the discounted amount now. Glad I bought some courses before this happened but I don't think I will buy again! Anyone who has an account with courses they bought a while back should delete their card details so they can't randomly charge you a subscription. I clicked to request refund and NOBODY gets back to you no matter where you write to. I have waited for them and can no longer get any refund from my credit card. By now the page has no longer a request refund button (which i have previously clicked) I really want to remove my credit card details from that page and will no longer ever patronise them.
... I don't get it... I purchased multiple domestika courses over a few years, and checked their page (french, german and english version) a couple of times since I started seeing people complain, and the shopping cart always had a very clear 'discount subject to subscription obligation' and the sub listed as item in the basket?
Don't give them the benefit of the doubt, the link they have given you just goes around in circles, there is no way to get refunded directly from Domestikas page, the refund now box does not appear on most peoples Order and Course Management page.
today I got ad about the discount version. they add the 'free trial' for 0$ for every purchase that will be 1$ per course. it seems so cheap I know. but when I tried to remove the 'free trial' from my checkout, I have to pay full price again, which is around 15-20$ per course in my country. So, they make the subscription as a way to discount the single course. If we don't want the subscription, they remove the discount. Seems like a weird strategy tbh. But I'm curious if I remove the subscription before 14 days, can I keep the course I bought for 1$ each? or they will charge me back the rest of the price, which is 14-19$. I don't want to do it to find out.
Another one scammed here. I am asking my bank to cancel the payment because there is no way to contact them. I will use your video as reference. And as you said, there is no way to delete your card info. People offering their courses should discover what are they participating into.
Thank you for this video! I just checked my bank account today, where these mf happily stole $99 for an annual subscription without any consent. It's been 31 days..... My guess is I'll never see the money again, but did anyone manage to get their money back after 31 days?

So whatvis to be done? How are they allowed to do this? Can they be sut down? I am down to go all the way. How can someone be allowed to do this, keep doing it despite the complaints and the awareness being raised, not have a customer service. There must be a eay to shut the down
Seems the only way to get a message to them is to delete your account. I just did even though I am now out $109. I was able to leave a message on why I am leaving them. Do a search and you will see they have been losing money and firing people. They are going down especially if we don't support them anymore.
Same here!!! Hopping mad! Will NEVER EVER buy again
thats why my bank was not approving the payment for the domestika
Same here, The refund page says they will not refund.
Just scammed today, what also we can do is to contact those instructors/ teachers there to inform they what they have been signed for.
This happened to me too. I bought figma course for my UI/UX class. The description is buy a course for 66 baht 90 discount. I bought it later they charge huge anount 2400 baht from me. The contact support is AI powered auto reply. there is no customer service at all
I clicked to request refund and NOBODY gets back to you no matter where you write to. I have waited for them and can no longer get any refund from my credit card. By now the page has no longer a request refund button (which i have previously clicked)
I really want to remove my credit card details from that page and will no longer ever patronise them.
How to Delete my card information from Domestika
This happened to me as well what a scam and I actually liked their content, before this happened. I couldn't reach their costumor support.
Thank you for sharing I was really close to buy it
there is a group on Facebook with 3k ppl complaining about the same
I feel very much scammed too, can we protest in front their offices, as this needs more attention.
Thank you for your video, they are still doing this :(
... I don't get it... I purchased multiple domestika courses over a few years, and checked their page (french, german and english version) a couple of times since I started seeing people complain, and the shopping cart always had a very clear 'discount subject to subscription obligation' and the sub listed as item in the basket?
I git an e receipt for £90 i don't know how. They git my bank details so mucj for bank secury i keep battling with.
yip, i lost $100 us today and i really didnt need to be scammed right now.
Thanks for this, I am sharing with public school art teachers.
I don't want to do it to find out.
same question i have
Thanks so much for this
They scammed me too. No refund, they don't respond and blocked me on social media. PayPal doesn't help either.
How to have this company con players arrested and get their business domains and apps get blocked from US soil?
Anyone got a refund or positive result after this? just happened to me today.
Another one scammed here. I am asking my bank to cancel the payment because there is no way to contact them. I will use your video as reference. And as you said, there is no way to delete your card info. People offering their courses should discover what are they participating into.
A mí también me estafaron, estoy esperando mi reembolso
Thank you for this video! I just checked my bank account today, where these mf happily stole $99 for an annual subscription without any consent. It's been 31 days..... My guess is I'll never see the money again, but did anyone manage to get their money back after 31 days?
Same, had a sneaky subscription, and was charged twice the same day, I’m really disappointed of this company, I requested a refund. #donestikascam
they charged yearly subs damn!!!!
Ok so does anybody know of anything similar to Domestika that works well and is reliable?
Skillshare
Totally fraud company . Auto debit from your CC or Debit card
This misleading practice by Domestica still happens. I was scammed today
They have deactivated the comments
I got ripped off by a watercolor teacher (not with Domestika). When I bought “one” class, they enrolled me in a monthly subscription. When I cancelled, I lost access to all the classes - even the ones I had paid for.
THANK YOU for this warning!
Thank you for sharing
Does deleting my account help? I had gotten a free trial. I hope they don't charge me next month 😞
Seems the only way to get a message to them is to delete your account. I was able to leave a message on why I am leaving them. Do a search and you will see they have been losing money and firing people. They are going down especially if we don't support them anymore.
The same appened to me yesterday. Will complaint to paypal and see what will be the result. Tricky guys. Should be in prision. Just stole from me 118€. Stay away
I’m still fighting for my refund since PayPal don’t care what I said.
I do too.
PayPal is useless , they did not authorize my refund
They still aren't doing anything
They took my money and I did not subscribe for a year to this site and I am now trying to delete my account
I‘m using Domestika, buying individual courses and not having a subscription. Works like a charm. No charges you don’t sign up for.
I've done that in the past, too. Over the years I've bought many courses without any issues and suddenly I was charged (while sleeping) for the annual subscription.
@@Libellenmaedchen Sadly the same thing just happened to me. I was always happy in the past with courses I bought, but now I've been scammed with a bogus annual subscription I did not authorize. I'm very worried about them having my credit card on file, but I don't want to lose access to the courses I've already purchased. I'm concerned that crooks have taken over the company since a lot of these complaints seem very recent.
@@cheezwiz7010hey, they have updated their support page and you can now file for a refund! 😊
@@Libellenmaedchen Me too. I woke up to being charged a lot of money. I used their help section to fill out a form for a refund. I hope they give it to me. I needed that money! If not I will contact PayPal and try to get a refund.
latest victim. this is still happening
Ive givwn up trying to get my money back
Anyone can help me i also have the same experience!
I got scammed too
You are deceiving people and illegally embezzling their money.
Could not agree more, happened to me, only specially looking found s very 'hidden' away box on my profile that had the word 'Refund' which I clicked onto and did gte my money back. But this compsmy sre CROOKS and those arttists of which three I did purchase from, I contacted to ask their opinion and thoughts, not one answered me. STAY WELL AWAY - DO NOT GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD DETAILS. I and it was some faff, cancel my bank card and got a new one.
Hey, where have you found this button I cannot see any
I got scammed too
