Same, had a sneaky subscription, and was charged twice the same day, I’m really disappointed of this company, I requested a refund. #donestikascam

I just found out last night that Domestika charged my credit card $109.99 for the Domestika Plus subscription renewal that I never requested. What scammers. I will try and request a refund.

I was scammed like thousands of others by #Domestika's misleading communication. I never wanted the Domestika Plus annual subscription I don't need. I want my money back !

Hi Jen! As an owner of Babylock machines, this is nice but way out of my price range. I just purchased a Babylock Meridian 9 months ago, that I truly love. It has enough features for me and I love IQ designer. It is a discounted machine, but it is perfect and is enough for me. 😊

Visited 3 stores today (I had errands and was driving 40 miles away from home anyway)... the staff were all quite kind but... the stores were ALL a mess. Boxes upon boxes in the back. sad ribbon selection. So much fall decor up front. No more drizzle brand sewing notions, looks like they're going to try to sell their store brand.

ALL of those "best workplace" lists are gahbage. Look at all of those retail places listed, most are minimum wage jobs where corporate makes the money working from home while the working poor work 40 hrs plus for 17-20/hour

This is an unscrupulous grifter acting out of mostly malice. Sadly, this happens all the time in all fields. A few years back it even contaminated the literary world. A romance writer pretended to have been able to patent the word “cocky” for a romance book title and stated operating like the person you talked about, sending (herself, not through lawyers) cease and desist letters to other writers who used that word in a book title. This unchained a force of reaction by the romance writing community that eventually ended up being called “the cocky gate”. You are right, the patent office agrees sometimes to patent lots of things in common use. I would argue it is ultimately their fault (secondly, after the unscrupulous people) for going against common sense it would not stand in court, but the mere idea of having the (abstract) “law” against you, is very intimidating. This person is counting on that. She did not invent the technique, she benefitted by the generosity of others in the crafting community to do this designs. Selfish cow!

This happened to me as well.. I was charged $135 cause I'm in Canada (the different amounts mentioned are cause they are ripping people off worldwide and they're talking about how much it cost in their local currency). PayPal keeps refusing my case in favour of the company.. I'm super frustrated, and I will definitely not trust domestika or PayPal ever again.

They also charged me plus account and when I complained via Instagram they blocked me (I am blocked everywhere by them and they deleted all my comments)

It's 299 now.

I have heard of 3 sisters and their mother buying a really expensive sewing machine.

Starbucks has a holiday blend that’s really good. I got a bag for Christmas last year.

The Applaud looks appropriate for a business selling unique clothes.

For that price, I want it to greet me with a kiss and a cup of tea on startup. Gray haired ladies make up most of the group at classes and events at my local sewing machine store. Nice that they are so creative in their retirement. For me, it's encouraging to see excellent creativity with far more basic equipment.

I hope no one buys into the idea that their sewing skills are going to improve exponentially by buying one of these, Geez! I had a $1,000.00 computerized machine years ago (RIP, Kenmore) and it taught me that 194 of the 199 stitches were useless to me. I only miss the automatic buttonholer. My favorite current machines are a 1960 Singer 500a and a 1957 Singer 201. Can't kill either one of them. At least if I dropped the 38 pound 201, I wouldn't be worried about smashing it to bits! In the early 2000s, I bought a Simplicity serger that turned out to be a rebadged Babylock (all the accessories had Babylock stamped on them) and it's still going strong. I bought a coverstitch a few years ago and regret it. It really only does one thing, but it does it well.

I watch these videos because i like to see what they put into sewing machines these days. Im 36 and have been sewing on a 1950s kennore or a 1950s atlas sewing machine since i was a teen. I know how to clean and maintain my machines and repair because they are basic af and mechanical. Even my serger is a handme down 1970s juki. Runs great. I am a garment sewer, i make amazing garments on these simple machines. ❤ But the bells and whistles are interesting, i just dont think id use it. Embroidery machine is so cool. But intimidating. Lol

YEP! this is a lifestyle thingee on the serger. I ain't going to lie, i would LOVE TO GET INTO THIS LIFESTYLE AND TAKE MY SEWING TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL (i am still in beginner mode using my measley SINGER HD4411 and been sewing bags for 2 to 3 years now) BUT RIGHT NOW I AM SUFFERING FROM A DISEASE CALLED, "MYFUNDSARELOW"

Buying from a dealer ensures you have a service person to repair/service your machine. Joanne, Walmart, Amazon are not there for you when you need help or have questions. They give lifetime lessons. They offer classes and education.

I am a beginner sewer shopping for a sewing machine. It says it has a "Metal frame for long-lasting durability". When you say it is plastic - can you please explain what you mean? Which part is the frame?

how does it work to get this company in court. Does it have to be in america and with american citizens. Which countries rules apply? who took over this company to prey on the creators and clients. Latest victim asking and not understanding why this is still a ongoing problem. they are o blatantly stealing from people all over the world.

Seems the only way to get a message to them is to delete your account. I just did even though I am now out $109. I was able to leave a message on why I am leaving them. Do a search and you will see they have been losing money and firing people. They are going down especially if we don't support them anymore. The thing that really burns me is the lack of contact. They never responded to me and yet did for Paypal. And btw, Paypal did not stand behind me. This company deceitfully checked all their boxes for what the banks are looking for.

It's not nearly as beautiful as the old all-metal machines, but what choice do we have today? If you need a few modern features (just a few, buttonhole and zigzag, am I asking for too much?) there isn't a single beautiful machine. They are all boring, white boxes. I keep thinking if you ask a painter to add a decorative line, it may look better than any other modern machine. This one could look better with a more vintage bigger wheel and overall more pointed design of the past. This machine is still too square and yet may be prettier than the rest of modern machines. I like Singer 160 more except for plastic and computerized part.

Happy Value fabric is OK for craft projects but NOT for clothing. I believe that it will be exempt from coupons, so ,,,good luck with that!

Another major issue that I saw repeatedly when I worked there (Fall 2023 - Summer 2024) was that there will be a stock room FILLED with inventory, so it's listed on the website, but it is not OUT for the customers to find. With staffing of only 2 or 3 people per shift, there were simply not enough person-hours being deployed to help get the stock out on the shelves. Many BOPIS (BuyOnlinePickupInStore) orders are shorted (marked as out of stock) because 2 people cannot run the cash register, answer the phones, cut fabric and answer customer questions... so be forewarned: just because it SAYS there are 12 skeins of that yarn at your local Joann's doesn't mean that it's going to be out on the shelf for you to pick up. Also - you cannot even imagine the mess in the stock room. I would go back and look to see if I could find something when asked,... but more often than not, there were shipping crates piled 4 high. Sorry - for $9.19/our I'm not going to pull these over on my head. Corporate keeps the store hours at a minimum to save money but I think it's going to end being their undoing. If you can't get your stock out, or people have little to no help with questions OR there are continually lines of 10+ people standing at the register,... they're going to vote on Joann's future with their FEET (& wallets)

How can you be a workplace of excellence when you don't pay a living wage? How does that help/support women?

I just hope that they are giving their existing employees enough HOURS before they start handing out hours to the seasonal help.
