You know, maybe we ought to let the leaders get drunk together more often. We could drink ourselves into utopia. And now that marijuana is legal in many states, perhaps more world leaders will head on over to make peace with us. Just sayin'

Stalin and Churchill did something similar during their first summit. There were three meetings, and after the third Churchill went to have dinner with Stalin in the Kremlin. They got horrendously drunk, and Churchill departed on good terms with Stalin. Stalin did something similar with the negotiation of a non-aggression pact with Japan in April 1940. The ambassador from Japan was so completely drunk that Stalin and Molotov had to take him to the train station themselves and put him on the train

And this is all due to you, because coming from my statement yesterday in the United Nations and if you looked at the press reports one could see that what you were writing was that today's meetings with president Bill Clinton was going to be a disaster. 90’s in Russia was a real stark contrast to the 90’s in America. 90’s in America had so much optimism. 90’s in Russia was having your dad open the door and check the outside floor to make sure there wasn’t any used heroin needles before you left for school

Correct Translation. the translater got it little bit wrong hahahaha :D he was talking about the journalist not bill
journalists thought this meeting between Russia and US was going to be a disaster, because there were a lot of contentious issues on the table for these two countries to resolve. Journalists believed that there would be no progress if meeting takes place now.
Yeltsin said, for the first time, I can say that you journalists are disasters, because this is a very productive meeting.

THIS here is what real leadership and great diplomacy looks like. Disarm the leaders of other nations, make them your friends. Too bad we now have an immature and extremely insecure man-child in the White House who is too stupid and inexperienced to credibly pull this off...
