Ying Yang. Life's all about optimism and this guy knows what's up. Chicago's mass constantly complains about it's terrible traffic and it's high stress of always being rushed, but this man flipped that negative mindset to a beautiful thing. Got to give the guy kudos. Wished the majority of the world would have more of this kind of imaginative positivism in their mindsets than fill it with negative basic outlooks. Anyways, killed it again with this one RedB
This is an example of what NOT to do while biking; if anything, this guy inconvenienced traffic and not only endangered his own life but the life of everyday pedestrians.
Yeah, biking around all day and drinking red bull is probably terrible for your heart and dehydrates. Kind of like how Sprite tries to make basketball commercial, but you bring a 20oz to a bball court and you will get gas cramps and possibly puke.
+Jack Ruby Yeah right! I respect Red Bull for all there sports stuff like X-Fighters and Soap Box, but there product is SO bad for you!! Innit like 18 tea spoons of sugar in a can of Red Bull? Atleast it ain't pint's like Monster.
Jacob Sever He's not from Chicago. notice he has no bruises from hanging on peoples vehicles. I doust one of these guys with hot coffee and he called the cops on me.......... he was arrested. ;) Later on I sued the messenger service, turns out it was caught on a bank camera. worked out well for me.
Making me miss banging around Chicago on all forms of wheels. City really does have a rhythm be it on a bike, in a car or on your own two feet. Pick the right route and time and you can fly across Gotham. Now I live in Munich and while it's a biker's city too it doesn't have the same heartbeat!
as a cyclist myself, i think it's fine to only do rolling stops at red lights as long as you don't disturb traffic. But dude, you're just being obnoxious.
I agree. I find nothing wrong with running a red if there is no traffic and it's done safely but blowing through traffic like he does is what makes people hate cyclists.
He's obnoxious and bloody slow on the straights, if I knew Chicago I'm pretty sure I good easily beat him. And does anybody know why he likes carressing busses?
Thats what i always think when i watch these videos. If you make cars or pedestrians to slow down or even stop to let you pass you failed, you dont show any skill by doing so, if the car doesnt want to stop he will just hit you so you are asking every time you cross a red light please dont hit me, its very stupid. You need to be like invisible for the traffic, go where you wanna go but dont make anyone to change their course because of you.
NIco, this song is about NY, not Chicago, and a taxi driver, not a messenger, but somehow the chorus came to mind right away when I listened to your narrative about the rhythm of the traffic & city deciding the speed of your delivery. Thanks for the vid. Search you Tube for "last fare of the day"
I am not a bike messenger but cycling single speed 6 years now in SF.its my commute in the city. Ones you get on the bike and start riding it with almost no rules, it's stupid but also great happiness, adrenaline-driven . Especially listening to SLAYER .
This video released about the same time I became a courier. 9 years later, I didn't think I'd still be a courier here in Chicago. I recognize every single location in this video, many of the areas look so different now, especially Wrigley, a lot more traffic now too. Willis to Wrigley, I bet I can do it in less than 15 minutes
This is the exact reason why no one really likes cyclists. Running reds and rushing through pedestrians are the two big no nos. As a biker, running reds is only ok if traffic is slow or non-existent
Great race! Lightspeed 30 yrs ago In NYC I had a matsuri trac bike stolen ,1 yr later dude was selling "gold matsuri trac bike with red pon stripe" I grabbed a billyclub hopped a cab and rode "my bike" home 2 weeks later it got.nabbed again Wasnt meant to Be Greay video , more please! When I had a run from wall st to harlem I took my bike on the subway ,7 minutes express That was winter it was raining I wore a wetsuit for surfing Never got cold!
Yeah so cool, a hipster w/ a fixie!... But why does he have to ride like he was the only one in the town, ignoring all the rules, and going so close to cars, buses and pedestrians? This kind of people make accidents happen.
I'm going to start running red lights in my car and when people get upset I'll just tell them "I'm a free spirit". Also I'll be expecting my Red Bull sponsorship soon.
Everyone that's saying this guy should obey all traffic laws should get a job as a bike messenger and follow all traffic laws. Do this for a month and tell us if you still have a place to stay
So just because he does this he is exempt from traffic laws. I hope one of these days he runs a red light and a 50 foot big rig flattens his ass and the cyclist will be completely at fault.
Exactly dude; they would starve to death! Also, some of the ones that are against fixies are just retarded people who wish they could drive as well as Nico does, and avoid all that traffic that gives drivers many headaches.
Exactly... Cycling and messaging are different... It's a completely different beast... It's annoying when other people try to turn something harmless into an issue..
I've been working as a bike coureer for nearly a year in Germany and nobody here intends to break any rules. Being five minutes earlier is just not worth the risk to be unable to work due to injuries. As a consequence, we get paid per hour and are instructed to ride safe and reliable. People who commute by bike are the real Idiots here. They drive like they've never heard about traffic rules. The Messangers I've met are pretty respectful riders though.
How many fuckin laws did this biker break? Like holy shit. Just cause you ride a bicycle doesn't mean you can do whatever the fuck you want in the street.
@Donald Trump A little history for ya. In the early 1900s the entire city was raised approx 4 feet to build it's sewers. And the elevation I'm talking about is near South loop, the hills over there near downtown are about a 7-10 ft hieght increase. Real struggling for bikers like me trying to get to the trail near Buckingham fountain.
I worked as a courier for 3 years for uber on/off while in school and 10 years cycling on the roads in Toronto. I can tell you right now, I have never been in 1 accident but seen many others get into ones. Number 1 reason was cause they were going through lights or doing tight turns near fast cars. Honestly, any young person just cause you see these videos doesn't mean you're invincible to reality. Be careful and stay safe when cycling in cities.
Love the idea, but he is going against everything the cyclist community is trying to accomplish (share the road programs) by not respecting red lights, stop signs, and pedestrians.
***** Free spirit until the day he gets picked up by a car while he is running a red light. I bet you he is going to blame the car for not yielding to the biker. Traffic rules apply to all using the road. Bikes have the advantage of filtering to the front of the line, but not immunity against the rules. By being a "free spirit" as you say, he is adding reasons for car drivers to keep on disliking bikers and not allowing us to ride safely.
who says he wants/has to be part of the cyclist 'community', maybe he's his own person and would rather do his own thing. Fuck the haters and fuck you boring-ass people!
Red Bull wouldn't touched this with a 30 foot pole if he rode around like some yuppie commuter trying to repopulate the cities after their parents' urban flight in the 70s-90s.
if you want us to slow down or whatever type of bullshit then theres 2 options, either have people give respect if they want it in return, OR you can get fast and catch us yourself. until then we will mash and mash through all lights and signs. sick and tired of finding myself doing the legally correct thing and almost getting hit
Yo if any of you are bikers, check out the Triple Aught Design Fast Pack EDC two strap backpack. I only use that now. I started out using a Chrome Messenger, but when you are carrying a decent amount of stuff, your shoulder begins to hurt really bad. So I switched to a two strap bag. The Fast Pack EDC is a great two-strap backpack because it is made to handle a heavy load and it has a great amount of padding. Even better than a Chrome backpack.
Cyclist guy in this Red Bull video - FANTASY. Angry taxi driver or just any other insane &/or careless car driver hit you after few sec. of ride in this busy traffic (maybe 'just' with a car door...) -REALITY. Yeah, btw I go everyday on my bikes too in city & yeah, I still alive but I think it's not 'cause the drivers are so kind here, in my city (& I think the same applies for every cities in these days)... Sadly I know only a really few countries (in USA & Europe) where still safe to cycling in the bigger cities.
You realize the majority of the top dogs in Line of Sight are friends with Nico, right? He's a world-class courier; even if he does make cycling look bad in this tacky Red Bull video.
красный бык,вы рекламируете мне нарушать правила на велосипеде и ездить без защиты выпивая несколько банок энергетика в день рискуя своим здоровьем?вас засудить?
Enjoy life while you can... It will likely be very short for this kid. Or he will be confined to a wheel chair for what's left of it after the inevitable accident happens. Or maybe, he will just hit a pedestrian and do that to them. He breaks the law at least 10 times in the 3:09 that he is actually shown on the bike in this video. 0:18, 0:22, 0:43, 0:53, 1:23, 1:25, 1:32, 2:03, 2:29, 2:40.
More than the $17, if you include the time required to pay the cab driver and the time for the passenger to cross the street to get to the location, the bicycle would've won.
Chicago never complains about these things. I think you mean NYC. Chicago is super hard working but known for stress or being crowded.
+ Steve Hammond Explain further how he increases car insurance douchebag.
This is an example of what NOT to do while biking; if anything, this guy inconvenienced traffic and not only endangered his own life but the life of everyday pedestrians.
@@Dantheguitarman3 That guy Hammond has an attitude problem. If he threw coffee on me, he wouldn't be driving for long long time.
I commute by bike every day in Chicago, and it's pretty cool to see so many streets that you ride on a daily basis on this video.
There's a Cooper Ray in every metropolis
This is Rooper Cay
Cooper would absolutely smoke 🚴💨 this fool
The resting heartbeat of a humming bird, after all that Red Bull.
No doubt lmao
eh he'll be alright
He is drinking too much Red Bull - not healty
Yeah, biking around all day and drinking red bull is probably terrible for your heart and dehydrates. Kind of like how Sprite tries to make basketball commercial, but you bring a 20oz to a bball court and you will get gas cramps and possibly puke.
+Jack Ruby Yeah right! I respect Red Bull for all there sports stuff like X-Fighters and Soap Box, but there product is SO bad for you!! Innit like 18 tea spoons of sugar in a can of Red Bull? Atleast it ain't pint's like Monster.
Kanone, du bist ja überall xD das ist sehr stabil.
The guy probably never drank a Red Bull in his life.
Red Bull - привет язва.
This guy can't be a Chicago native. He actually called it the Willis Tower.
Also no Chicago accent.
Depro Nine What if he said it that way so all the people that AREN'T from Chicago know what he's talking about?
He's being "PC" by calling it the Willis Tower.
Depro Nine Not everyone from Chicago has an accent.
I have watched this vídeo many many times.. I love cycling on the city everyday ☺
Saw this guy at Michigan Ave. weaves thru traffic crazy fast!
Jack Kang
That is so cool!
I love that I walk on these streets every day. Everyone has their own story.
Great video! But.. um... What are you talkin' about, "Willis" Tower??? You totally showed the Sears Tower when you said that.
He probably puts ketchup on his hot dogs too.
Making me miss banging around Chicago on all forms of wheels. City really does have a rhythm be it on a bike, in a car or on your own two feet. Pick the right route and time and you can fly across Gotham.
Now I live in Munich and while it's a biker's city too it doesn't have the same heartbeat!
man i love those videos.
such a beautiful documentary and the music
as a cyclist myself, i think it's fine to only do rolling stops at red lights as long as you don't disturb traffic.

He's obnoxious and bloody slow on the straights, if I knew Chicago I'm pretty sure I good easily beat him. And does anybody know why he likes carressing busses?
erik verbeke Carressing busses is the cool thing to do if you're in a messenger/fixed gear video. didnt you know? haha
Thats what i always think when i watch these videos. +Bruno Rivas Exactly, ninja style. That's the kind of riding I like. Never disturb anyone but get the job done quickly. Now that's skill.

Nice Idea, Nice Video!
He broke every traffic law and still lost.
Hater
Frank Castle facts he’s just a little hipster
That's a shame for a biker
i'm sure the taxi cab followed all of them -- ya goofy
Andar de bicicleta é algo muito bom... Sempre gostei... sensação única...

Pretty extreme stuff riding like that in the city! Need a hell load of balls and stupidity to do that! Props Nico!
This is great! Thanks!
Road cycling cap with roller skating helmet and a fixie. You just ticked all the boxes mate!
I love his voice.
Sick video
Chicago, my home 🔥💘
Maybe if you cut that hair you won't have so much drag😂

Zac Banz i was just saying that you should shut the fuck up xD no Problem, brother :)
If he cut his hair he could see the cars braking to avoid hitting him.
Anyone know the name of the song/music used?
garretR88 this is why I read the comments smh... They should make it required to add songs in videos
Darude- Sandstorm
nice job
This is the exact reason why no one really likes cyclists. Running reds and rushing through pedestrians are the two big no nos. As a biker, running reds is only ok if traffic is slow or non-existent
I love to ride in Chicago! ! nothing comes close.
3:33 theres like a double of himself in the rear thats blurry , pretty cool.
You gain points in my heart for being without A MINUTE of the cab...but, you LOOSE HELLA POINTS for referencing the SEARS TOWER as the "Willis Tower".

If you wreck because of a bike messenger, you're a distracted driver and need to retake your licensing test.
Bike messengers have more situational than most drivers.
We should be glad he could make it without running over a car 😩
Hey redbull
I want to know
What the first song?
Sorry my inglish is broken
I'm going to start running red lights in my car and when people get upset I'll just tell them "I'm a free spirit". Also I'll be expecting my Red Bull sponsorship soon.
Adam ZarZar clearly you feel some way about bikers... Get your fat ass out your car seat and exercise tho... Pig
Adam ZarZar LMFAO sponsorship tho??? Funny good one 😭😭😭😭
The downtown life seems so different from the Southside

Does anyone know what the pentagon on his chest is for?
can someone tell me what frame and stem he is riding?
What tires is he using and can I put them on my normal fixie deep dish rims
NICO DEPORTAGO ..... scream !!!!
How many fuckin laws did this biker break? Like holy shit. Just cause you ride a bicycle doesn't mean you can do whatever the fuck you want in the street.
Anyone know where i could get a bag like his??
What is a bike?
Not 1, not 2, but 3 red bull drinking segments
So with a bike equipped with multiple gears he would've beaten the taxi.
there are no climbs chicago is flat
There are plenty of large hills downtown. Ur not from the city
@Donald Trump A little history for ya. In the early 1900s the entire city was raised approx 4 feet to build it's sewers.

I thought it will end by like that Nico win with much time, but its correct to show like this, even not a "happy end" :D
I WOULD LOVE TO ONE DAY BE A FILM MAKER FOR REDBULL!

I'm here for the Chrome Messenger bag, was that the biggest Metropolis or what??
It's Sears Tower - and as soon as you said Willis, you showed the Hancock.
What kind of bike does he have? Im trying to buy something like that.
What bike is he driving ?
What type of helmet is that?
biggest product placement ever !!!
So you're telling me you were stopping at traffic lights? ;-) Come on, buddy...
Nice video, but dont forget the local transit laws bro!! Your tooths and bones say "thanks".
Song?????
Inspirational
Nice! It's dangerous to cross at red light! You are awsome! Red Bull advertising - drink water not Red Bull
And then they say motorcyclist are retarded
Woah how many redbulls did you see Nico drink 😂
Nice to see Red Bull supporting Darwin's awards.

Awesome!
Watch out! The Yellow one's don't stop! (Elf movie)
a lot of these comments are hilarious its just funny how mad people get when youre talented and they arent

Did nico have that +100 health doppleganger mod from borderlands pre sequel? Thats how hes survived
You missed the bin bro
is driving into intersections that have a red light part of the job description?
GaMeOvErRules it is when you’re in a race, when you’re working not so much
One day you're gonna get squashed by those buses you're touching.
The city of Chicago
Line of Sight by Lucas Brunelle, now there's a real urban racing documentary. They eat this guy for pre breakfast workout supplements.
You realize the majority of the top dogs in Line of Sight are friends with Nico, right? He's a world-class courier; even if he does make cycling look bad in this tacky Red Bull video.
What's the Pay?
Hope he picked up that can......
he threw it in a trash can...
gertrude dulila But he missed...
EDIT NVM THAT WAS A BIRD.
Aluminum can. Better to throw it on the ground and let someone get paid to recycle it than to toss in the the trash and send it to a landfill.
Maybe, but he should learn how to reCYCLE!!
Man he's not using straps. Or are those highcut cleats? Haha!
Clipless pedals
You know the taxi took the long way
thumb mounted compression suction cups for the buses, toggle on, toggle off. (wet rag optional).
unnecessary
Hat noch jemand die Taube bei 0:31 gesehen, die aus dem Müllcontainer kam ?^^

Really smart the way you smash through Pedestrian Crossings. One day you'll take someone's legs off you goddam hippy!
why you gotta make fun of hippies lol
You failed to mention the getting hit by a car variable.
He clearly missed the shot in the trash at 0:32 lol
No, someone pointed out that's a bird.
tcorourke2007 it'd make sense because I didn't watch much past that miss. Lol
*****
#1 No, it doesn't make sense. #2 He didn't miss. It was a bird, as in "I didn't watch much past the bird".
Jackass could have recycled but he didn't even through it away.. smh
Is this guy the inspiration for the movie .... (....U know the movie)
ohhh yes!!!!!
The guys that do this job in general were, lol
Are you talking about Shrek?
Sleepless in Seattle?
RUSH.
i wish i was riding my bike at the time i was traveling through Chicago 2yr ago. i just started 6mo single speed
really 5 miles in 18 mins chicago must be full of cars and red lights
I don't think you've ever been to chicago.
You should check out the movie QuickSilver starring Kevin Bacon back in the 80s.
Yes man yes
Good👍
Hey you just littered!!! Go back and pick up that can.
Only concentration, is good, is life !
Enjoy life while you can...

More than the $17, if you include the time required to pay the cab driver and the time for the passenger to cross the street to get to the location, the bicycle would've won.
+Timothy Fish what about the time it takes to wait for the cab to reach you?
syed faizan Good point. Unless you're near a place where cab drivers wait for riders, that would add to the time.
