These old TWC - and more specifically Local Forecast videos - do so much for me. Nostalgic trips being the most obvious, but it also triggers a very deep and introspective reflection of life. Where I was then and how awesome it felt, where I am now and how I got here. It can feel like a completely different place in space-time, and it's important to keep our connection to those days alive. Important to the soul, to the present, important to whatever future challenges arise that make us long for the days of early/mid 90s TWC. And strangely enough, these videos can offer a moment of clarity in an otherwise shrouded existence.
Same here. Even when I'm watching footage from a time we didn't have cable, these videos remind me of whatever memorable things were happening around that time.
@@twcclassics It's amazing how powerful the sights and sounds of 90s TWC are to us. It probably sounds like a loaded exaggeration to many people, but it really does feel exactly how we say it does 🤷🏻♂️. I just wish there was some way to make life now feel anything like it did back then.
I used to hope that this song would come on. When it did it was like finding an old friend. Over the years I still remembered the song, but back then there wasn't a way to find out what it was. Over the years I searched. 2 years ago I found it again. Homeward Bound.
I miss the 1990s version of *The Weather Channel* when they still had WeatherStar 4000. Why in God's name did they "upgrade" and turn the former 24-hour *WEATHER* channel into a partial weather channel and a partial reality show? Granted, there were a few programs in the 1990s on this channel... *The Weather Classroom* (my favorite) *Exposures* *The Enemy Wind* *Target: Tornado* *The Chase* ...and others around at that time, but they were much better than the current line-up of programs they currently air. If I had a time machine, I would take it back to the 1970s (before my time), the 1980s (my childhood), and the 1990s (best time for The Weather Channel). Yes, I know it got started in 1982, but I didn't become hooked on it until the 1990s.
