steve is a good friend to have when an elk hits the ground, haha. he always seems just as upbeat with a heavy load on his back. good attitudes make long packs a lot more fun. i'm convinced after this episode, Dirk is better than an elk at bugling...

Outstanding fellas...loved it! Congrats Steve on the Bull. Pro Tip 842: CO CPW does not want the tag on the antlers, tag must be on the meat. Tag can remain in your pocket notched of course while you pack animal back to vehicle, then must go on meat.

I never hunted in my life but really appreciate what hunters do for the land and the respect hunters have for the animals. Your program was a pleasure to watch keep it going and thanks. Ps the only reason I don’t hunt is because I wouldn’t eat the meat.

Little trick to keep the flies off, we carry a little spray bottle with fruit fresh in it. Add water to it and then spray it on the game bags, keeps the flies off and won't cause any flavoring of the meat.

You guys are great. I've been hunting elk again for about 6 years, never made it outlast year do to our hunting area being on fire. Went back this year normally I focus on rife but went for a week of archery this year before rife and managed to call a bull in to 7 yards from across the valley and half way up the mountain. Was incredible. I'm so hooked on archery again now. I started looking on UA-cam for videos when I got home and found your Land of the Free series, you guys are so inspiring. Your videos are real and very entertaining.(informative too) Keep up the good work I'll keep watching.

You wanted comments and ideas for this season....and here is my suggestion. Bag dumps and carry weights , gear used would be great for each person and each type of hunt as you progress through the season and episodes. They could be separate videos or part of the ends of each episode like the uncut portions. Seeing how yall pack for each type of hunt/trip would be helpful. Thanks! Oh...and these videos ARENT too long...keep em coming as long as you can keep up with the editing....LOL
