Great story Phil …..Good Luck to you & Kirsti . We moved in 2017 when we retired ….bought a home in the Charente, near the border with Haute Vienne and have had a great time here. Yes, the paperwork is stressful ! Yes, we should’ve done more research and yes, we should’ve taken French lessons from Louisa at the Little Language School much sooner….but hey…we live & learn.

That was a lovely story.❤ My wife and I are hoping we can start a new life by moving over to France in four years time , we will both be of retirement age by then.. Brexit has made it more complicated., Will our income, be enough to qualify for a visa to live there? We will only have a small yearly pension of about £80,000, plus our monthly state pensions, and my small £456, monthly army pension. We will also be using the money we get from the sale of our house, and use that to buy a 2 bed property in France,. Hopefully finding a rennervated home for around £120.000. Close to a supermarket, hospital, etc. near or around Bellac, Confolens or Charente area. We shall be Keeping our fingers crossed that France will say.
