Wonderful masterpiece of work! The price is well deserved. Master Picasso would be very proud of one of his "sons" (painting) to be worth what he is worth.
@@hokkiengospel5737 Not really, they are not from banks. All the super expensive paintings sold during the last few years in auctions, including da Vinci's Salvator Mundi for 450M, have been bought by arab magnates and princes from the oil industry
Picasso’s work is priceless but the sex slaves “ODALISQUES” in the paintings were actually free 😢 When Matisse died he left his ODALISQUES to me as a legacy," joked Picasso 🤨 An ODALIK was a maid who tended to the harem, she could eventually become a concubine. She was ranked at the bottom of the social stratification of a harem. 😞 Odalıklar were slaves given as gifts to the sultan by wealthy Turkish men. 😩

Not really, 1$ to 200$ is like 167M $ to 33.4B $ and there is only arround 30-40 people with net worth over 30B $ and that is net worth, not disposable income like 200-1000 $ sitting on your bank account. But your comparison is out of place. This doesnt feel like dollar invesment for noone living.
Paintings are mostly bought as an investment, to be auctioned years later for profit. Same goes for other expensive things e.g. Jewelry or Cars. Other times you have to be fascinated by some thing. Maybe you are extremely fascinated by something and then you would understand why they buy it. I myself don't get the hype about those paintings either, but I am fascinated by a watches movement, how everything so fragile works together and some genius has figured out how to do it.
Items at auctions are only worth what buyers are willing to pay. Since that particular buyer was willing to pay 160 million for that painting, then that painting is now worth 160 million. If tomorrow someone else was willing to pay 180 million to buy it then the painting would be worth 180. On the other hand, if buyers were willing to only pay $10 for that painting then it would be worth $10.

1) They can sell it in 10 years for probably lot more. 2) even if the market goes down, pieces like this hold up pretty well, so not all their money is lost. 3) owning a piece like this increases the value of every other art piece you own, as now you are an elite collector. 4) it’s a money flex that gets you into a different circle of privilege, getting you the absolute best everywhere you go, putting you in contact with other rich business men, where you could make even more money. While the purchase is part of a collector’s hobby fueled by a passion and knowledge of art and its history, it’s still a business backed decision.

People are starving to death as we speak and this goes on????? Makes me sick truthfully, I'm wanting to pullout my own hair patch by patch as I sit here and watch this insane amount of money being used to make the already "very well off", just that much more so, as they play in their own little rich people's playgrounds, avoiding, at all costs looking right in front of themselves, yes, a darkened highway, the asphalt of death's hand being raked across your mind's peace, ahead of themselvesyeah, let's make the already comfortable and wealthy that much more so. Let them eat that sand that they choose to live in, over there, where ever that place is! Although I'll be accused of being a hater, I'm not so interested in those kinds of titles, being labelled as such, won't take away from the facts that I'm stating: how insane is it, or even how surreal is it that one person will spend enough money on a picture that you would be able to feed, as well save the lives of thousands of humans, and this thought doesn't cross the minds of any of those damned people. Christi's makes me feel a totally justified sense of loathing against their rich clients using this sense of secrecy, to quail exposure, avoid the public's outrage at this inhuman display of pure greed, vanity at its most sickening level. So now due to our own acceptence of this sodomy against life's true purpoae, not this profanity encased by a complete lack of basic human empathy, nothing but a feverishly high level of sustained and "blackened contempt", towards other humans.
boring...they should just make a phone conference for those items. or even better...go there as a rule. you wanna buy it...show your face to the world.
