Hi everyone i hope you enjoyed my video and this is the link if you still decided to buy on of this multi tools. Nit sure if is just my bad luck but what to do. amzn.to/3oyceiB
I have one that is around 2 months old. Had problem with it getting hot and shutting off. Wait for it to cool and it would work then shut off. Now it wont work at all. Do not buy this model. it completely sucks. I have many other Ryobi tools that have worked for years and I use them daily. Ryobi should recall this model I have read many reviews of it not working. I am returning mine today and going to buy a different model from a different company.
Had one that work for a bit then quit, it was the switch that had something to do with the switch. it was over a year ago and I don't quite remember, but I think I changed the switch with one that went to a homelite tool (can't remember). Regardless, it's still junk and have hardly not even used it since. Other tools that are junk: 40v chainsaw, finish nailer, and 18v fast chargers.
It has a thermal cutout sitting next to the motor. Very annoying. I also have two! They should have a run time warning and not be used for sanding. And be built with a better thermocouple.
Issue with mine was that the black ground leg had broken on the motor. After a quick solder directly to the ground of the battery as the ground leg on the relay switch also stopped working, I managed to get it working again...
Hi everyone, just to let you know sorry for the late response. I didn’t manage to fix it and left them both. I can’t be bothered with them. That’s actually only one ryobi product that i had problem. I do have circular saw and two impact drivers, jigsaw and never had a problem. My personal decision is ryobi multi tool I wouldn’t buy again. Thank you for watching my video and subscribing as well. I do have one more longer video of how im trying to fix them both but in the end i just left everything. If you want to see it let me know and i will show it as well.
I found mine overheating regularly but a quick blow with the air hose it cools quickly enough to get going again. I suspect a failed thermistor etc, but haven't pulled it apart yet.
maybe not a "batch" my one thats a good few years old (4+?) has done the same thing, LED comes on, motor doesnt move, unless i hit the bottom real hard

I have a lot of Ryobi cordless tools and that one is the worst. Did you find out what the problem was?
Good fix... not! Worthless complaint video...

I wish they would make a brushless version which is only a saw
Did you figure out what the issue was? I have a theory and it involves the battery placement
Same thing here. Mine I can hear a sound when pressing the trigger. A kind of a pitch noise very low. Let us know if you managed to fix yours. Thanks

Ryobi sucks. My drill is less than 3 years old and it stopped working. 👎
Your drill cost under £100, yet lasted over 2 years! Amazing.
